muscle building exercises
purplelite replied to cprince's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I need to build muscle under my skin, I see my skin getting flabby after 50 lbs weight loss and want to put something under there! -
You can drink again. My doc's office recommends 4 -5 months and not overdoing it and also protecting the stomach the day you will plan on drinking. I have not tried it yet but do plan on a glass of wine on Christmas.

If you went to mexico for your gastric sleeve surgery, who was your doctor and how much did it cost?
purplelite replied to BackToBeautiful's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Dr Wilhemy did my surgery in Mexico. He did suture over the staples and I had 3 tests to check for leaks. I had a very good surgical experience with him and all his medical team in Mexicali, Mexico, this is where the hospital is. You start your journey by going to San Diego California and meet their driver. You pay more than 5000 dlls but it is worth it! -
Anyone going to Mexicali, Mexico for surgery?
purplelite replied to Veronica Page's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Veronica, I went to Mexicali for surgery with Dr. Wilhelmy too! You will be in great hands , he and all the staff at the hospital are awesome. I did have to call quite frequently the first couple of weeks mostly questions on the diet. You will meet with Dr. Campos who has a sleeve, is a bariatric dr and nutrition specialty too. He can answer your questions I just did not know what I had to ask when I was there. Do not worry too much the office staff will answer your questions you forget to ask there. Do not be nervous about going to Mexico, at least not to Almater hospital and wonderful medical team at Mexicali Bariatric. You will feel well taken care of and safe in their care. i would not change a single thing and would take my own mother for surgery there if she needed it. -
You are not eating so you are not really gaining fat probably just water!

How Long Did you have to crush your meds?
purplelite replied to brians34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only did it for a little over 1 month, I was instructed to do it for 2 months but once I was eating real food I started taking them normally. I did not crush them but broke/cut them into smaller pieces, my doctors allowed me to do this. -
I was able to wear a sports bra, no underwire and when I got back to my room I was able to put my undergarments back on, well actually when I woke up enough to mind. Slippers in case they do not give you some, I did get a pair at the hospital but many places do not give you slippers, you will be doing lots of walking so you need them. Think about chap stick, pictures of your kids or family not with you at the hospital, your own comfy pillow, gas x and any medication you are currently taking! Best with your surgery!
