It is a small world! I hope everything is going well for you with the diet change! Congrats on your weight loss as well!

Hey all! I'm 3 weeks post surgery and would love to connect with others from the area!

I had mine at Abbott Northwestern in downtown. Pain medication will do that to ya! I just switched to full solid/normal diet and for the most part it seems to be going well. There's a few things I know I have to stay away from but for the most part meats and things are going really well. The surgeon I had fast tracks the diet so I started on the pureed and skipped the liquid diets and then was only on the soft solid for about a week. Although I do notice myself kind of falling back some days as sometimes my body doesn't like the full solids. I'm glad things are going well for you, hitting the 30lbs loss was a huge deal for me as I haven't been able to lose more than about 15lbs at a time in 8 years! Where in the metro are you from? I live in the Burnsville/Eagan area.

I'm doing pretty well minus not being able to take tylenol (I'm allergic to it) or ibuprofen now. How are you doing? I've lost about 32lbs so far

3 weeks post-op looking for mentor

I would love to work with you. My surgeon is not much help with questions and things like that. The biggest issue I am having is that I am allergic to tylenol and well as you know we cannot take any ibuprofen products. I don't really know what to do for mild pain/headaches and my surgeon has written me off on that subject so I've been feeling kind of miserable lately. -
I am 3 weeks out from surgery as of this last Wednesday. I just had my first checkup with the surgeon and am in normal range but I feel like I am eating too much and am having a hard time knowing what is OK and what is not. My surgeon is not much help and is pretty much on the rude side about everything. Looking for someone that's gone through and has had good luck with everything! Thank you!!!

I'm new to this site but I just had gastric bypass RNY 3 weeks ago at Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis. I live just south of the twin cities. I'm wondering when people started lifting and hitting the gym? My doctor says I'm cleared for working out/lifting and a normal full solid diet but I am a little hesitant on things. I'm also super hungry all the time, I feel like I never get full. Any suggestions? I am getting all my protein in and vitamins so I don't really understand it and my surgeon is not a lot of help for answering questions!
