The 5 day pouch test DOES work!
GenaW828 replied to serenityjames81's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congrats!! In December it will be my 3yr anniversary. I just had a baby 3 mos ago and I'm trying to get back on track So i may have to try this pouch test! Wish me luck you all! -
I'm 6 weeks and I feel like I can eat a house at times! With my first pregnancy I wasn't this hungry at all. I'm scared that I'm going to gain all my weight back or a good piece of it (I'm 15 mos out and lost 150lbs during my journey). My go to foods that I eat for my protein heavy foods make me sick...I want carbs lol. anyone else having this issue?

Questions for Alcohol Drinkers ONLY!
GenaW828 replied to Cape Crooner's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i think I had my first drink about 3 to 4 mos after my surgery. At first I couldn't finish one LIT so now I switched to shots lol. my logic is that it's doesn't run the risk of my getting too much sugar and dumping. My tolerance was kinda off but now I'm back to normal ( I can tolerate a lot). as for being afraid that I will become addicted.. I could see that being a problem since you don't have your old ways of handling things. I just work out -
How much ounces do you eat after 1 year?
GenaW828 replied to Hagar.vsg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
my days vary too. Just also depends on how hydrated you are. My doc told me that the days you feel like you can't eat anything you are dehydrated and need more water. it takes me hours to eat one 6 oz steak, I will probably eat 3 oz of it then an hour and a half later be hungry and eat the rest. -
I was thinking about that but this is my busy season at work and it's hard to get away. I still may do that. I'm just kind of over meat and eggs lol but it's a necessary evil lol (I'm on a fruit kick right now... apples to be exact)

so it has been a year and one month since my surgery and I have lost 140lbs but i still have 40 i want to lose. My problem is i don't know what to eat. At my year appointment he was told me how well i did and see you in a year. I have always struggled with what to eat now i really don't know. what are you all eating a year after your surgery? are you all still doing the same limitations on the carbs? I was suppose to only eat 25 net carbs a day.

On Dec 4th will be my one yr sleeve anniversary, and I haven't lost any weight in like a month. I go back to the doctor on the 16th and I need to do something different. I have been getting tons of Protein getting less than 25 net carbs but I think I have plateaued. So today I have started my per op diet again. 2 Protein shakes and a meal under 300 calories ( 4 to 6 oz lean meat and a veggie), Has anyone had to do a restart and if so what did you do?

I miss some days but what I eat doesn't change much from day to day. I just think my body hates me lol. But the crazy thing is I'm in smaller sizes. just that number isn't moving

BE HONEST SLEEVERS, did anyone think okay they are going to cut half of my stomach off and the weight will just fall off?
GenaW828 replied to tamelntre's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I understand...I have to keep reminding myself that I didn't have the bypass and this surgery is slower weight loss. Which is ok for me...I didn't have any sever health issues before the surgery (wasn't diabetic or high blood pressure). But I was morbidly obese and to not have those problems down the line something had to be done. -

there have been a lot of things to happen to my family in the past couple of weeks that are causing me to make poor choices in food. My mom moved to TX last weekend (I'm in TN...everyone is in TN) and now my husband is in the hospital and they are wanting to do an above the knee amputation. He is already a double amputee and now they want more. So I'm really struggling to try to deal with all this..i would normally go to the gym and try to work out but since my gym doesn't offer child care and my mom is no longer here I don't have that to turn to. So I go back to food..i can't eat much of if it but I went the other night after me and my son came back from the hospital and went to sonic and got a molten lava cake. I ate 2 bites. but I'm scared it will get worse. I don't know what to do any more I'm so overwhelmed right now. I know you all will say it's not good, don't turn to old habits and I'm trying not to just pray for me.

How many of you continue the shakes in your diet after many months after surgery?
GenaW828 replied to bellabill's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I stopped for a while but I drink on in the morning then for my mid morning snack I eat a P3 which has 14gms of protein so before lunch I have 40 + grams of protein. -
That there is a possibility that I can make it to onederland... I know that sounds really crazy but I have always been big I haven't been in the 100 since elementary school. I guess that is the mentally that come along with being over weight for so long..that you will be this way forever, but I don't have to be and I WON'T be!!!

How to deal with MDD, anxiety, and post op
GenaW828 replied to Shell88's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have MDD and anxiety and it is really hard because i realized I self medicated with food so much. I'm not on any meds but to be honest if i feel bad i go to the gym. It gets my mind off of things and makes me feel something other than depressed or anxious. That may not be for you but try to find something just to keep you going so you don't fall into a depression. -
Thank you guys. This has been a hard but worth it journey! I love working out i enjoy cloths shopping now. I'm excited about my future!!
