Hello!! I agree that vacations need to be handled in other ways opposed to our past behaviors! So glad you got back on track, and lost 6 lbs!! Whahoo!! But, what i thought was too exciting was.. you needed NO seat belt extender! Bravo!! Im going on a flight/vacation on Monday, and im so excited for experiencing that amazing, and powerful victory!

Beni.. i too find myself in the womans section as well! I too have a difficult time accepting that i can shop for clothes in the "regular" section. I wonder how long this sensation will last?? When i look into the mirror, i see a smaller person.. i like what i see, but accepting it is different.

Hello Gladiators! I love reading ALL the stories we share with one another. I am 30lbs from my goal weight. From 321 to 193lbs.its exciting! Just like most of us.. the excess skin is ugly and frustrating! Has anyone gone for a consultation with a plastic surgeon to see if the insurance will pay, and what kind of surgery will be needed. Im still having some critical low blood sugars at random times. I see an Endocrinologist this week, and ill get a blood work up, and CTScan to look at the pancreas. My Primary MD and my gadtric bypass MD seems to feel that I'll need surgery on my pancreas to limit to insulin being secreted into my blood stream causing low blood sugars. Is anyone experiencing any low blood sugar episodes?

Hello Gladiators! I am proud to report.. i have made it to onederland!! 198!! Getting closer to my goal of 160lbs. Since ive been having drops of sudden low blood sugar. My surgeon wants me to follow the Wholegrain council diet. Has.anyone heard of this or has anyone been told to follow this diet. It consists of No meats, No dairy, No white flour stuff. So, basically I'm to eat legumes, fresh fruits and veggies, and whatever goodies i can find. This diet is not easy. He is also sending me to an Endocrinologist. We're trying to avoid pancreatic surgery. is anyone else going thru this?

Hello Gorgeous Gladiators! Everytime I read the posts, its so awesome to read such progressive, positive feedback. I've been losing weight at a snail rate, but it doesn't bother me anymore! I'm one lb, to being classified as overwoverweight! How freakin' exciting, since for 20 yrs plus ive been morbidly obese. Ive lost 119lb, and 43 lb to go to my goal weight at 160lbs. I'd love to post a pic of my progress, but I can't figure out how to do it!! Is there any Gladiator who would like to post how to do this task! Be well Gorgeous Gladiators!

@@Pink, thank for the sound advice! I totally agree not to even start the sweet foods. Im going have to stop eatinf.sweets when I get the urge. Quest bars are yummy.
-
Gladiators, we definitely have to curtail the sweets. In my case, after I eat sugars, infeel crappy, and then sometimes a couple of hours later is when my bld sugar will drop I get shakey, sweaty, incoherent, weak.. very frightening. So, by sharing our stories.. it really does help the group.

Tastycakes, your post was absolutely on point, and too funny! Thanks for sharing!! Hopefully, the insurance company will pay for the boob job!

@@Beni, I just got back from Miami Florida. It felt great to be in a bathing suit, and not feel like a blimp. Altho, I have 47 lbs more to go to.myngoal weight.. 160lbs! Ive had some complications from the surg.. low blood sugar episodes. They have dropped critically low to 30, and my potassium as well to 2.3 Both related to the gastric bypass surg. So, im trying to balance this, because it can be fatal. I've gotten a way from swimming and walking which I intend tonget back into my routine thus week. I had an injection in my back and hip today due to.sciatica nerve pain. All in a day of Joan! Wink, wink. From 321 to 205lbs. Its slow, but, I couldn't be more pleased ! I love reading about everyone's journey! It's exciting to share wach others progress and tips for better success! How has everything been in yournworld?

Bronx, you look perfect! Good job!
-
Hey Bronx! Its my blood sugar that drops. I get sweaty, shaky, lightheaded, and then I start feeling woozy, like im intoxicated. Then,.incoherent and unresponsive.
-
Hello Gladiators! As many of you, im still losing but at a slower rate which makes me happy. About a week ago, my blood sugar dropped to 30, and inbecame unresponsive. My husband called 911, and I ended uo in the hospital for a few days. While the ER did labs,my potassium was critically low as well. After seeing the hospital MDs, they tell me this is related to the gastric bypass. I have had other incidents when BS dropped low.. so, I share this to all the Gladiators for just a level of awareness. The incident was a bit scarey. All is well now. Anybody else experience thu type of episode??
-
Hello Glorious Gladiators! I haven't posted in awhile, but ive veen reading the posts to keep abreast of you fabulous and fearless lifestyle changers! Just like most of us, I've been stuck in 'stall' mode. So far, I have lost 111lbs from presurg to post surg. I feel good, and I finally see the change. For months, all I could see was fat on my body.. even tho I was losing wt, I could only see fat. Now, I see a lovely transformation. I'm between 14-16. Its just nice to be able to shop in regular stores, and enjoy the vast selection of choices! Now, thats utterely exciting! I'm going to Miami next week, so to be able to wear shorts, sundress, and not to be embarrassed in a bathing suit is refreshing and a joy! There have been countless winters where I promised myself I would lose wt so I can look better in the summer. Well, that manifested into many many disappointments and failures. Now, we can ALL say, we have succeeded for this summer! Keep sharing, so we can all feel encouraged everyday when we log onto to read each others posts! Have a marvelous week!

Yes!! Thats happening to me too! I find it scarey! But, I am very mindful to stop for fear of gao ing weight back. And plus, my family will comment, and say.. hey, you're eating too much! Lol! Got to love the support system!!
-
Good for you!! My stall is consistent! Ive lost 2 lbs last week, and nothing since. However, im really ok with the stalls now. Just as long as im still losing in a healthy manner, all is well! Im down 105lbs/higest weight, and 55 to go! Size 16 from 26. Slowly, creeping into a 14. But, ladies.. my body has changed/obviously, but Im losing my ass, and my waist has a muffin top! Totally opposite from before I lost control of my weight! Anybody else having the same experience??
-
Wow!! Outstanding..I'm sure it feels very surreal. My weight is slowing declining. Total weight loss 105lbs! 55 more to go. Im able to shop in the "normal" size shops, but I find myself doubting the clothes will fit, and they do. I literally have to remind myself that I dont need to shop in Plus sections.. very odd thay my body is adjusting, but my mind isnt. Anybody else going thru this?
-
Ive had that sensation as well, after a work out. Infact, I started vomiting/ dry heaves and someone gave me water and instarted to feel better. Im noticing im needing more water when im exercising. More than likely, I was a bit dehydrated It has not happened in the past. Im working out more regualrly. Hope this tidbit of.info may help you.
-
Wow, Beni..so sorry you had that experience. I'm thinking it was the crunchy chicken. To this day, I can not tolerate tougg food textures. I stay clear of it, because I know i wont feel well. Ive had corn, and I had no problems. Infact, its a food I feel goes down fairly well. Hang in there,Diva! We are still living and learning.

What a great story! Those are some of the victories we need to experience in order to continue on our journey. Im so proud of you.. and keep doing you!
-
What a victory! You go girl!
-
Well said, Glenda! I needed to hear those words of encouragement as well!

I love to hear stories abt the big clothes that don't fit! Thus morning I out on Capri pants, and they were saggy. So, I put my new capri pants on..size 16, and they fit wonderfully! I'm at the mall, and shopped in Wet Seal, and bought 2 shirts for me! Exciting to be in the "normal" size clothes. I feel like im in disbelief!!! It's actually happeneing.. niw I can shop in most any store! I feel like I crossed over a huge hump!
-
I'm so sorry you had an unpleasant experience at your support grp. It's hard te receive any kind information when the person is short tempered. However, its an opportunity for growth. Keep doing you, and all will be well!

Hello Glorious Ladies and Gent! In response to Beni.. surprisingly I still burp and toot! I'm thinking this something I'll have to accept. For some reason, im not able toneat as much lately. Im getting full much quicker than like a month ago. I made braised beef tips the other nightm I had small bites/abt 3.. and I lost my cookies! Also, 2 days ago I did swim aerobics, and then sat in the jacuzzi for abt 5 min, I got so weak, my legs gave out and I started to throw up. I was having the dry heeves. Yuck! Someone helped me, and I drank 3 glasses of water and felt better. A very bizarre incident! How is everyone else doing??
