Hello my name is Joan. I've been overweight for most if ny adult life. It became a comfortt to eat after enduring an abusive marriage. After divorcing a man from emotional distress.. food became my " love affair". It was my answer in dealing with stress, and celebrating victories. I became a person I didn't like. I would lose weight.. gain it back, and grew into a person I didn't recognize. It took about 4 years to make the decision to have bariatric surgery. I felt it was a too invasive procedure. After having the surgery, and into my recovery.. I was amazingly surprised how well I felt. It's a huge adjustment, not only physically, but emotionally as well. Currently, I am 6 weeks post sugery with a loss of 30 lbs. I don't see yhe change, but I do see that my clothes fit differently. I have a host of medical problems which I needed clearance. I thank the medical team at Methodist Houston. They are the experts in this field, who help us to became champions in successful weight-loss. Dr. V. Sherman is my Md. He is amazing!!! Well, thats the basic stuff of my story. I look forward to getting to know all of you, and supporting your efforts and goals!Stay well.Joan
