Hey all, I had my surgery on Dec. 18th and am down 90 lbs from my surgery date. I weigh 175, but I am 5'9, and maybe only want to lose about 10 more lbs. I'm a size 10-12... its so awesome to shop for clothes now, and it's become my newest obsession lol. All is well, except my energy is way down. I will try to post pics soon. Best wishes to you all! -

Referbished vitamix... they cost less, and you can buy them right from their website with the warranty and all.

I could use about 10 more oz of fluids per day, but nothing drastic. Also, I'll have my surgeon look at the thyroid.. good idea James. -
So here I am, almost 8 months out, I have lost about a hundred pounds... Go me, right? I look great, but I don't feel it. I'm starting to wonder if the hair loss will ever stop. Yes I take biotin, I also take magnesium and zinc. I dated for the first time in like 10 years, got my heart broke... But the surprising part is how fragile I am emotionally, and I'm not sure if that is tied to the surgery, weight loss, and all the things that go with it. My last thing is that I'm surprised at how little energy I have. I am getting in all of my protein and staying track on my calories. I am diligent about my vitamins daily, and my blood work is right on track... Anyone else experiencing this?

When will I really feel better?

I was bloat for two weeks, especially after my bowl activity kicked in. After that, it was extreme fatigue, I wanted to sleep like the first two months. Now I feel great, and almost 70 lbs down, and 3 1/5 months out. -

My surgery date was 12/18/14, and I am down 60lbs. I ran on a treatdmill today, it was amazing! I even have men looking at me when I'm out and about.... which is a huge ego boost. -

BMI 35 or lower. Would you sleeve or bypass?
coastalchick replied to OldMomOf3's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I had the same optiin, and I went with a bypass. I was set on a sleeve, until I dug a little deeper, and found better long term outcomes for the bypass patients. -

Great advice, go and complain about your co-workers and make your work enviornment even more hostile. What exactly is wrong with owning your decision to have this surgery? I have owned it to family, friends, and even co-workers who asked how I lost the weight... and amazingly I, and others in my surgical group who have done the same, are not suffering from anyone "talking" about them. If you were not prepared to answer questions, maybe this surgery wasn't a good option for you. Are you ashamed of what you did? Your right, legally you don't have to tell them crap, but at the same time, there are those complaining about people noticing their weightloss, and complaining that people want to know how they did it. Curiosity is normal, avoiding questions, and not being forth comming in your answers just increases curiosity. This probably won't be a popular post, but oh well. -
No, it mixes great. Now, I did get greedy and mix too much with things like yogurt, apple sauce, and pudding, but you learn quickly. It mixes great with hot foods, and drinks.

I start my day with low sugar instant oatmeal, and a scoop of Genapro. It's a 30 of protein jump start to the day.

Surgery was Dec 18, and I have been stuck 215 for two weeks... so far I have lost 48 lbs since surgery. Time to change up my routine -
Genapro is on amazon.
-
I do Genapro in everything from oatmeal, shakes, spaghetti sauce, and more. I'd be lost without it. It's pricey but worth it, you also use much less than other proteins.

Being secretive makes it worse and will only make them more curious. You made a decision to change your life with this surgery, just own it. -
I know I shouldn't

I have had wings and my surgery date was Dec 18th. I only have four at a time, and not depriving myself keeps me going. Have the wings, and remember moderation.
