    Big Sister...Little Sister

I am pre-band... but am scheduled for April. I'm 29 and married with one daughter who is 21 months. My current weight is 300, but my goal is 140. I live in Oregon, and I will be having my surgery with Dr. Kuri. I like to have fun and laugh, I have a quirky sense of humor. Would like to have someone to kick me in the butt everytime I talk about canceling my surgery date
  4. Your post puts my mind at ease... I have my surgery date with Dr. Kuri on Feb. 28th. Sounds like I picked a good one. Congrats to you on your band.
  5. First let me say that this forum has been great. I've not posted much but I've read until the wee hours of night, many times. With that, I'm proud to say that I've finally made the decision to go through with surgery. I've gotten my date for Feb. 28th with Dr. Kuri. Here's the problem...... NOW I'M NOT SURE!! I know that with any kind of surgery there can be risks, I know that this is life altering, I know the positives far out weigh the negatives. But...... ever since I've gotten my date, I have a hard time being excited. I have litteraly talked myself into believing that I'm happy with the way that I am. I'm 29 5'6" and weigh 300lbs........ I have a wonderful husband, a beautiful 2 year old daughter, a house, stay at home mom, supportive family. What more could I want??? I don't really have to face my weight issues, I pretty much stay in my house. My husband, who is skinny, loves me no matter what. I know I'm somewhat of a recluse (sp?) I think I'm scared of being successful. What if I don't like myself skinny??? Am I crazy??? I'm comfortable with who I am.... but I'm not happy. If I do get the surgery, I just know that I'm going to be one of those ones that will get erosion, pb all the time, can't get the right fill. ARRRGH!! I am a positive person, I know it doesn't sound like it. But I just can't understand why I am doubting this so much now that I got my band date. I know everyone has gone through doubt, but I'm actually trying to find any and every excuse to cancel my surgery. SO FAR NOTHING!! Has anybody else had these feelings? Thanks for listening, you guys are awesome.
  6. I've been reading and researching for a long time now and have finally got my surgery date. Feb 28th with Dr. Kuri. I've been planning all along to go back to Kuri for my fills. But, now I'm a little hesitant because, I keep hearing about all these erosions and I think it would be best to have someone local. It seems to be real slim pickings for Dr's here. Can you wonderful Oregonians give me some ideas as for Dr's. Thanks so much... Tacee 29 Lebanon, OR

    Hey all...

I greatly admire you.... I wish I could of had a band placed at 16. I couldn't imagine how different my life would of been. I'm yet to banded, but I'm on my way. Keep your chin up, and know that you are doing the right thing. You will get A+++ support at this website.

    C-Section (Before or After banding)?

You guys are great!!! I don't mind the scar whatsoever, I just didn't want the band to interfere with me having another baby by c-section. Teresa, Eugene is not far, I actually live in Lebanon, about 40 mins away. I actually had my daughter in Eugene. It's great to know there is others in Oregon. Thank you everyone!!

    C-Section (Before or After banding)?

Thank you for your replies.... I will definantly talk to the doctor's and let them know. I'm just curious now, can you have a c-section with a lapband in.
  14. This will be my first real post ... My name is Tacee and I'm 28, from Oregon. I'm not banded YET!, but I will be. I'm looking at the end of November, with either Dr. Ortiz or Dr. Kuri. I have been reading everybody's post for a while now. You guys are sooooo great, I've learned more at this site then any other place. My question is..... Has anyone had a C-section with the lapband in place? OR... Has anyone had complication due to a C-section prior? The reason I asked was I had a pretty major c-section with my little one...( I do mean little, 1lb 8oz) they had to cut a little different then normal, so now I'll always have to have a c-section. I will definitely discuss it with my doctor, but I was just curious if anyone had some insight. You guys are wonderful!!!
  15. If you have found out any information, or have been banded by Bajanor, please let me know. I'm very interested, but I've not read many testimonials. thanks! Tacee
