Anyone NOT required to do a pre-op diet?
Cari replied to Bethanyblondie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have to do a preop diet either. My doc just said cut down on sweets and salt the week before, and liquids the day before surgery. After surgery I did 21 days of liquid and then right to food. It was easy, I wasn't hungry at all and felt the 21 days of liquid really restarted my body and my mind! Good luck! -
Soon to be banded... hopefully.

Drink Hot Tea, and it will help it melt. I have done this before, it should go thru -

When I hit a plataue I add more Protein to my diet, 100 to 120 grams for 3 days and that usually gets me going again. I shoot for 80-100 grams per day. You look FABOLOUS! Most people didn't notice my weight lost until about 65lbs. For the first 50 to 60lbs I was still wearing the same clothes. -
I chose the band over gastric, and boy was I happy. I figured you can always go from band to gastric but not the other way, lol. I must say I LOVE MY BAND, and I have lost 90lbs under 10 months, and only 1 fill. I have another 21 pounds to go and I know I can do it by the end of the year, 14 months in total. I am loosing quickly, but slow enough that my skin is bouncing back too. No sagging! I take a exercise class once a week and walk. My only regret is, I didn't do it sooner!

Hi Jennhen, I too am a Dr. Gritsus patient. I was banded 11/14/07 6 1/2 months ago and am 72lbs down. Just stick to hit, keep head strong and you can do it! I was in a PANIC about my fill, there is nothing to it, and it doesn't hurt. I will be at Susanna's meeting, and I go to the Dr. Sakowitz weekly meeting, try to make it to one. It definately helps, keeps you on track and motivated. Good Luck!

Sounds like the rice is stuck. I was told by my nutrionist NO RICE at all for 3 months after the banding. Drink Pineapple juice, always works for me. It will either disolve what is stuck, or you will bring it up. Good Luck!

Tell her to try this: Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test it is meant to see if your pouch is working and reset it. A few of my friends have done it and gotten back on track to loosing weight again.

I had same day surgery, and i was happier to be in my own bed! I just took liquid tylenol and was fine. I had my surgery on a Wednesday, and went to the grocery store on Thursday just to get out to walk. By Friday, i felt GREAT!

I have started sliming again, all the time no matter what I eat, and yes I chew. I know I am not able to eat rice, hard boiled eggs, pasta, bread etc, but the last few days, no matter what I eat doesn't stay down. Liquids are no problem, but I feel a head cold coming on. Does anyone else have this problem when they are getting sick?

I was banded on Wednesday, November 14th. The Day of surgery is a blur, and that night was rough! Unfortunately I am allergic to most pain killers, so I just grin and bear it. Today I feel pretty good! Only hurts to laugh or cough! But, I can't wait to start loosing weight and being me again........
