My name is Carole, and I have been struggling with my weight, as well as self image issues all my life. I have been overweight ever since I can remember, and I've just become obese. I've tried multiple diets, regimes, exercise plans all to end up in the same place I've been. I've recently come across weight loss surgery, and I feel as if it's what I want to do. With being overweight comes with a lot of insecurities. It's gotten in between a lot of things in my life, it's difficult to talk to people when all that's on your mind is, "they're just looking at what I look like, they're not really listening." or "they won't go for someone like me, look at my size.". I've wished to be healthy and fit more times than I can count, and I want to finally be comfortable in my own skin. I recently attended my information session, and the day after that conveniently enough I attended my first POWL class. I have not yet been assigned my surgeon, and was recommended this website through the class. I want to talk to people who struggle with the same things I do, and are looking for a way out. Maybe what I feel, others feel, too. My POWL meetings take 6 months, so I'm waiting until next month to attend my next one. I'm still pretty new to this website, so I'm still trying to figure out how to browse through it. I'm 20 years old, and a junior in college. I know my worth, don't get me wrong, I know my personality is bubbly, I know I'm one of a kind and I know i can sing my heart out [even if I sound horrible] once I break out of my shell. I just want friends to talk to that know what I am going through.
