wow, you guys are doing great! i was banded at 211 and now weigh 187.5:biggrin: i really just started loosing after my third fill so it took me awhile:tongue_smilie:

that really stinks!! But you can't change it so try to happy you took your health into your own hands and didnt wait for someone to give it to you

would love to keep in touch with you all my surgery was March 25th down about 20 pounds just had my 3rd fill today so have a total of 4.5 cc's

Hello there, I was 5' 4" and 211 pounds and had the band done on 3/25/09. Im down 23 pounds and couldnt be happier. I was soooooooooo afraid of regretting it but I feel like Ive started a whole new life

why after a fill do you need to be on liquids for 24 hours. I never asked?:wink:

I feel like my recovery was very easy BUT in no way would I have been able to go back to work that soon. Not just from the surgery but the anesthsia

I didn't realize that most Dr's do not do it at each fill My dr has me drink the barium before, does the fill and then has me drink the soultion and i get to watch it go through. It's cool to see the band and everything.

I have no idea what is charged to the insurance

Yeah, I only have $5.00 copay, some people have to pay $50 for a fill

the fills are NOTHING!! My dr does not use a pain killer and honestly I dont think you need one. It is over in 20 seconds!!! I drink the barium for a before shot, I lay on my back, push my stomach out and she quiclkly injects the saline, it feels like nothing more then if someone pinches your skin with their fingers (maybe not even that bad) The I get another upper GI to see the restriction

I asked last week about pain after eating, she expalined that as the muscles start to digest your food, the muscle the port is stitched to may move a bit and it thats waht may be causing the pain she said anything band related will be felt in the chest area Also, I asked her why after and adjustment, it seems like I have restriction and then it evens out and she informed me that you have fat around your stomach band and as you loose weight, you loose that fat also causing the band to have more room, she said it will eventually stop doing that so Im only down 21 pounds in 2.5 months BUT Im not giving up.

it sounds to me like gas pains Bu my dr also told me to remeber my port is stitched to a muscle and if you need/use that muscle you will have discomfort

does anyone experience pain after eating? Not "stuck" pain but a dull stabbing pain on your left right under your rib cage?

I felt exactly the same way. I had such anxiety attacks and could not sleep. It was aweful but it passed quickly

Well slowly but surely Im down 21 pounds:redface: Wish it were more:confused: Ivae had 2 fills, first one was 2cc's, had my second one 2 weeks later, she added 2 cc's again but the x-ray showed my stoamch emptying to slow so she took out .5 cc's Still able to eat pretty much everything so a lot is my own will power. How is everyone else?

well surgery was 3/25 and Im only down 21 pounds. I have had 2 fills and thinking of going for a third

Oh Geez sounds terrible. I was short of breath right after surgery but my Dr gave me breathing excercises that really helped.

Dear Italy, Have you had any fills? I think the carb diet your Dr recommends is way to much in my opinion. Do you have other Dr's there you can look into switching

I was banded on 3/25/09 and have lost 18 pounds:glare: My dr said because I started at a low BMI (pre-op I was 211) that I will loose slower so I have to be patient

Honestly, I weigh myself 2-3 times a day:blush: I know I know, so not good but I can't help it:rolleyes:
