Im home. Mom is getting better care and is comfortable. Dad is less stressed. My desk looks like I was away for a month. Thank you all for your good thought, prayers and well wishes. It helped to blow off steam here. Im ready for weight in tomorrow. Whatever it brings.

I think it is time you told your friends you are trying to lose weight. Alot of your slips off the wagon are at the hands of your 'friends'. You have to re-identify yourself as the friend to have a cup of coffee, walk with, see a move, go to a club, snowboard with then the friend that they eat with. If they do know about your struggles then they are not being a good friend by asking you to indulge in very tempting and calorific foods. You are so lucky to know personally so many great chefs. Use that as a challenge to them to feed you petite portions of healthy foods. You don't have to discontinue your style of life you just have to tweak your lifestyle. Enough said.

I don't think you have Mortons Neuroma (you didn't say you were in pain) but it is sounds like you're in the same area of the foot as one. When you use the elliptical try to use your whole foot in a full stride to help spread the pressure on the foot. So it is not just on the ball of you foot. Watch while others us the machine. Most times their heel never touches. Just a thought.

I completed a Triathlon last summer at 220lbs. Im signed up for three this year and a Muddy Buddy. You have to have good shoes. If you're striking the ground well/evenly you will be ok. I had a slight knee problem before running. I don't think the running is making it any worse. Shin pain is another matter. That is my personal demon. Good luck and have fun.

Prevention is more like it. I've found: stretching before and after running reduces the sore muscles the next day. warm up and cool down. Don't just run. Walk for 5 min on either end of the run. a Protein hit within 30 mins after a run. Staying well hydrated. Good luck and keep running!!!!

Specail K just got one and Im sure there are others here who have them. Is anyone else still using it? Fenton I thought you had one?

Thanks again to everyone for keeping me in their thought and prayers. We think we finally have a diagnosis for my mom. Multiple system atrophy. Not good but it opens doors for more care, which is what is needed. Surprisingly I have not gained and possibly lost a lb. I weighted myself at the hospital and in clothes I was the same as before leaving. So if you take away a lb or two for clothes I think that is pretty good.

Hi all. Im just stopping in. thanks for the thoughts and well wishes. It has not been a good trip. One hour my mom askes me to help her die. the next she is talking about what she wants for dinner next week. we are trying to keep her home but it is taking a toll on my dad who has his own health problems. none of us kids live anywhere near them. I have not been paying to much attention to what Im eating. Unfortunatly it is my families eating habits that have alot to do with my weight gain. food is love. I did get to a gym today. I got a day pass. did cardio, took a class and swam laps. I really needed to work my body and detach my mind. it was good. maybe i will sleep tonight. Again thanks for asking about me. christine I am so sorry you are again having that stomach pain. I hope the tests friday give you some answers. fenton a little bright spot, I gave my dad your book to read a while ago. he made a point of telling me to "tell your friend that was one good book" So there you go.

Hi all I will be incommunicado for a while. I just got a call from my Dad in Ca. Mom was taken to hospital and is asking for all her kids to fly in. Doesn't sound good. Im flying out in 3 hours. Stress + flying = restriction. Im just not ready to say goodbye.

A little snarky but at least it is in my blog and not on the forum...

Yep I hear you on that. I just try to remember what it was like in the beginning and how motivated I was, and try to recapture some of that energy for my struggles of today. It is either that or screaming at the monitor "YOU JUST WAIT". -
Thanks for the reminder. I needed to hear it. Yes the band is working for me, but I still have to put in the effort. Plus sometimes I forget just how hard I have been working. Good luck on your journey and keep working that band!! Thanks, Amanda

Lynn, so sorry about the loss of your dog. Been there, done that. It sucks for everyone, including other canine friends left behind. I'm blessed with a rather wonderful relationship with DH. It might not be everything I always wanted but its everything I need. Sometimes when he's sleeping I look over and cry because there might be a day when he's not there. He is 18 years my senior so that is a very real possibility.

Tess I keep thinking about you. First the floods this summer now the snow. Is it always like this?

Day 11 After Banding-- It's the Small Things
ajoneen commented on voiceomt2002's blog entry in Blog 49252
I wish I had a Dante to dress me. Im thinking about growing my hair out too. It's a bit daunting as the in-between stage is rather shaggy. My sister does the Cpap thing. She says it is a dance between too dry and condensation on the face piece. Keep writing-I'll keep reading. Amanda -

I saw the Dr today. I'm up 4lbs from seeing him 11/20. He didn't seem to concerned. I received a small fill.( I have 2.5 in my 4cc band) I hope that curbs the hungrys. Sometimes I wish I had someone who would get mad and hold me accountable for my mis-choices. "Yo stupid what are you doing? You want to be fat the rest of your life? You know what to do so do it!!!"

Confessions I must make - don't read if you are going to give me heck please :)

To easily copy the list just quote the most current and then remove the part of the coding that makes it a quote. Just highlight [the stuff inside the the brackets] at each end of the quote and delete it. Does that make sense? Or just quote and adjust the original list. Whatever.
