Hi all. I 've been having a bit of stress here. My mom(77yrs) broke her leg, compound fractures of the tibia and fibula. She has had one surgery and is expected to have a few more. Problem is she is not healing. Dr's say that if healing doesn't start or if an infection sets in they will have to amputate. Oh ya my parents live in California. Long distance stress. Seems petty to also bitch about work stress. I was out all last week- yes I know it was a vacation but no one does my job when Im out. I can only imagine what it will be like the week before the cruise, in June and the weeks after. Im visiting my sister this weekend (was planned before the vacation). She is in Kansas City, so more time on planes- probably in thunderstorms-yay. Saw the eye Dr yesterday- I need glasses. yay. Not losing weight. Actually really struggling to keep stable. I never knew stress to cause me to eat but now with food such an ever present focus it is the first place to take the stress hit. Well that and exercising- no energy- but I drag my A*s to the trainer because I pre-paid for that. Im a little low right now. I need to count my blessings; husband, family, friends, home, employed, 80lbs down form my high. Just breathe. Thanks for listening.

Im really proud of you too!!! I know it is hard to exercise when not feeling well so I think it is great that you are getting out there!
-
Christine- Im sure this is the last thing you are worried about ,but have you been getting some exercise? 15-20 min just walking makes a big difference for me in my mood as well as weight loss.

I very happy to say that the 8lbs I was up over last weekend have gone back to where ever they came from. I went on a liquid diet for Monday- Wednesday, yesterday was liquid until dinner and that was mushie. I think I will stay on a modified diet for the rest of the weekend. I'm also doing a bit of liver detoxing with teas and juices. Im at that weird stage where most of my clothes are a little big but I don't want to buy anything new because I really want to buy smaller sizes. It was easier to go with the baggy over the winter now with summer coming I just looks messy. Oh-hum the trials of weight loss. Everyone have a wonderful weekend. The weather here in the East is going to be GLORIOUS! Im planning on being out as much as possible. Harley I hope you can get out on your bike.

Hungry- be weary of the complications thread. I have noticed folks just bitching and moaning. What you need is information. I know of one person who had their port changed. Came through it with flying colors. Minimal recovery, just sore at the spot.(Dr even said it could have been done under a general/local) If your port was stitched to your muscle deeply or with a re-enforcing web it might be tender for a while there too. Keep up your good eating habits.

Happy Birthday Carrie!!

The Duathlon was ok. I was in a bike crash so lost some time there. Bruised (leg, arm and pride), but fine. I have something weird going on. Since Friday I have gained 8lbs. I feel so swollen and dragging. It is like a inflammation reaction. My band feels tight, my stomach is in knots.

enjoylife- thanks for your kind words. You are so correct in that there is so much to gain from this support(LBT). Sometimes I wish we could have phone conferences.

From the album: Triathlon Pics

Christine- I know for some folks this just doesn't work. Would you consider a removal and possibly having the sleeve procedure done?
-
Ups and downs. Tomorrow is my first event of the year (was a Triathlon but changed to a Duathlon-they canceled swim part). Im not near as ready for this one as I was last summer for that. But I will compete and finish. The scale is vary hard on me. I've been logging foods and staying under cal count and my food choices are pretty good. I purposely make portions small because I would have no problem with volume. But Isn't that what we are supposed to do? I have lost a total of 5lbs in 6 weeks. There's been times when I've been as low as 207 then it pops up to 210. 208 today. Really no rhyme or reason. I canceled my Dr apt today. Nothing he can do really. Not hungry between meals. I don't think Im willing to chance a fill & perhaps be so tight I have BPS or slimming. I wish my head was in a better place. Thanks for listening- It really help to be able to "get it out" with folks that know what I'm going through.

I've been reading a few posts on left shoulder pain. This is not the stuff you feel after the surgery, from the gas, but pain felt possibly when you eat too much. I'd like to see how many people are having pain and when. Please also note on which side your port is on. Thanks!

No such luck. Any suggestions?
ajoneen commented on ajoneen's blog entry in Watch out life, here I come!!
I've been logging my food and that food has been healthy and in good proportions. Im measuring and weighting everything. If anything I am a bit low in calories. I cut out the social drinking, which in the past has resulted in at least a few lbs lost. No such luck this time. I've kicked up the work outs because my first Triathlon of the season is 15 days away. Plus I've added yoga. I was hoping there was an inches change but no such luck. I thought I had started losing again when 3 weeks ago I had a nice loss but some came back. I had a fill 3/6. I'm not hungry between meals but I KNOW if I choose to have bigger portions it wouldn't be a problem. No sticking, PB's, sliming (which is wonderful). My body doesn't seem ready to break this plateau. Any suggestions? -
