Texas- don't worry about the occasional sip of water. It's really drinking and washing the food out of your pouch that is bad. Relax

Hi all. Im just wondering does anyone else keep a journal? I started one here on LBT but Im also keeping one on my own. It has already come in handy when I was freaking out a few weeks ago and I needed to look back and reaffirm why I am on this course.

    Any Long Islanders?

Hi Im a patient of Dr Powers in the same office as Dr Geiss. They use the same office/support staff. I really liked Dr Powers and he is not as busy as Dr G so you can get in to see him sooner/quicker. I like that I only talked to him. I was not passed off to anyone. He gave me all the information. A little bit more personal. msjessy do write down your questions and concerns to take with you.

Lisa- if your wound is open I would put a butterfly or steri-strip to close it(washing and drying well first), perpendicular to the wound. nycm00- sometimes bacterial or fungal infections superimpose themselves on the dermatitis. Are you on oral corticosteroids, such as prednisone? That can give you fatigue. A .5 percent hydrocortisone topical preparation (ointment, cream or lotion) can be applied to the skin to relieve the itchiness, redness, scaling, and swelling. (get ok'd by your DR.) If you are concerned see a dermatologist. (this is not me it's from here FDA Consumer: Contact Dermatitis: Solutions to Rash Mysteries (May 1990)) Fenton you and your cats have a very interesting relationship. FrancesMP- way to go!! You look kind of shell shocked in the 2/15 picture. As too burps and hiccups- yep I get a double burp, I think the first is the burp moving past the band and then up & out. I get hiccups when I'm hungry. :scared2: Ok Im going back to reading a certain book...

I need some one my age to talk to about this

Yep you need to work this out B4 you get banded. You're not seeing the forest because of the trees. There is a big picture here, your health and well being. The band is but a part of it, as is the surgery and the diet and the exercise and the head hunger..... You get it. I haven't had kids so I can't compare. It was surgery. You will feel under the weather. The incisions well hurt a bit. You will have gas pains. It might suck for you. It didn't suck as bad as I thought it would. you will need a good support group. I hope you find some folks to talk with about your fears. Good luck.

The health halo effect is when people go to what they deem to be healthful restaurants, and tend to overeat because they think they're eating healthy. Subway's 'health halo' can lead people to consume more calories - USATODAY.com

    2nd chance with the band....

Not menu suggestions but a few suggestions none the less. Maybe find a new Dr. who will support you. Go to support groups. Even if you don't get something that night you might meet someone you can add to your support system. A band buddy. Perhaps a few therapy sessions to get to the root of your eating, or nutrition sessions to get guidelines for better eating. Exercise is half the battle and you have that down. Good luck.

Ellen11703 After I jumped through all the hoops and got insurance on board I heard about 10 days later. I had to wait 2 months for surgery date because my Doc(powers) went on vacation for a month. Don't be afraid to call you are the client.

Fenton you mentioned shrinking your pouch. Check out this link: Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test The whole site is pretty informative. Living After Weight Loss Surgery I think you should go have one of those hot stone massages for losing 10% of your total. Not a nifty new toy but nice all the same. Harley- LOL For a quick lunch I like the Sunkist tuna medley. Spiced up tuna in single serve portions with a few crackers. Just enough. I think there are 5 flavors. Between 200-250 cals.:frown:

Harley My best friends husband has a big hog of a motorcycle. I think it's a Sportster. Where ever I travel I get her a tank or Tshirt from the local Harley store. Me, Im scared Sh*tless to ride those. But they sure are pretty!! I was the one who posted about the guidelines. Here they are again. Not sure this is a band victory but my husband surprised me with a trip to Bermuda today. He said it is a reward for all my effort and hard work. You gotta love that guy.
