Hello all. It's been a while since I've checked the thread. So much is going on. All the plastic surgery. So proud of all the continued weight loss. Glad to see someone is succeeding. Me, not so good. The same three pounds are on and off. I'm essentially the same weight I was this time last year. I know if I worked harder at it I would have more success. My food choices are for the most part good. Im sure there could be more tweaking but realistically I can't do any better. Exercise is the hard part. If I could do 3-5 days a week I know I would be a success. I responded well to coaching but I've hit my $$ limit. Personal trainers work but are expensive!! I can not afford to invest any more. I had reduced the sessions to once a week thinking that would stretch out the time I had and hold me accountable. Ha! Even with me paying for him to care I could tell he was losing interest. Today it really hit me because I went to my trainers only to find he is out of business. I had prepaid for my sessions and am now out that $$. I wish I had someone in my life that cared more about my health then I do. My job is sucky. I do the financial side of the business and can see that the company is sinking. We are downsizing like crazy and moving the office to a smaller location but I think I will need to be looking for another job soon. Which sucks because Im socially close to my boss & his family and that friendship will suffer. Ya more stress. I gotta say Im feeling like a failure. I used to look in the mirror and think I looked good. Big yes, but good. Now I just see hanging, flabby, rolls of skin. I am the stereotypical fat person. I complain about the situation but am not willing to actually do the hard work that is necessary. Not sure why I felt the need to come over here and darken your day. Guess I just needed to unburden. Feeling guilty.

Folks here can lend support but it looks like you need to have a good talk with the Dr. You need to be getting enough nutrition and that won't happen if you can't keep things down. Good luck.

I went to the fill appointment today. My regular Dr was out so I saw the PA. Wow what a difference. I always had a problem with my Dr telling me he was ok with my progress and not really giving me motivation to keep going. Well the PA didn't pull any punches. She quizzed me on my food choices and made suggestions on alternatives. She said she could give me a fill but didn't think it would help with the things or the way I am eating. It would probably just make me get stuck and have a unfill. I am just choosing foods too soft and not substantial enough to stick with me. And of course not making the best choice with high calorie stuff. She explained how having a glass of wine before a meal just relaxes the pouch enough that you don't feel the full signal and over eat. Duh? I always knew I eat more when I drink. Now I know why. So it's back to the mental game. Remembering the why of doing this and figuring out the how.

I have a fill tomorrow. Sad to say I kind of went overboard yesterday snacking on salami, cheese and bread. I really need to feel some restriction. Maybe a PB or a slime will put my head back into this. I think part of me is too comfortable where my body has "landed" so to speak. All my clothes fit nicely. Im not hungry between meals. Folks compliment me on the loss. I have to keep remembering the "why" of losing weight. Scrappy sorry about the light headedness.

I wish the tickers would freeze when we made a post so that it reflect the weight we were at when we made a particular post. I was looking back at old pages and the tickers show current weight and it looks a bit silly. Am I the only one that thinks this???

Hi I have an appointment Thursday for a fill. I will have to do some smooth talking because one of the factors used in weather or not to fill is if Im hungry all the time. Well Im not, I just don't have any restriction. Hungry has never really been a problem. I need something to put the breaks on the amount I eat. I know Harley did the 5 day pouch test once before a fill to help relearn the feeling of full. Maybe I should try that. ??? I love hearing stories about not being recognized. At my Moms memorial folks just walked past me and asked my sister if I had come out for the service. She would giggle and tell them to turn around. The problems my Mom had in her later years with her health were mainly caused by her weight, well over 300. That is the reason I had the surgery. I think my sister is starting to feel the impact of her weight and seeing the struggles Mom had the last years. I dearly hope she does something about it. But you have to be ready or it won't work.

Plateau is putting it mildly. Stuck in the mud is more like it. Im making an appointment for another fill. I was hesitant this past spring to get one because of all the traveling I was doing. But I will be staying put for the next two months so now is the time to fill it up. This last time on the plane I had some band discomfort for the first time. I guess there's a bubble in there now. Have a good day!!:bored:

Im back from a wonderful trip to Alaska and the visit to California with the memorial for my mom. (Which ROCKED! We celebrated her life with friends and family in a very special way) Between the trip and the stress Im up about 10lbs, kind of sucks. Fenton- My Dr bills charges $250 for fills, my co-pay is $20. It comes through on the insurance as "surgery". I have heard that other band docs don't like to take on a patient that they have not banded, my doc won't. There is Fill Center USA, a franchise that is spreading around the US. They offer a comprehensive package with aftercare. They are in Stamford, CT, Mount Laurel, NJ and Smithtown, NY at the present. As to doing your own fills I have thought how nice it would be. I am not needle phobic. I would however probably abuse the process as you guessed and full and unfill at will. Know where I can get my hands on a Huber Needle? Scrappy- Congratulations on the successful surgery!! Christine- It seems like forever since I've been on here and am sorry I haven't been around to support you more.

Im headed to the airport in a little while. Im very excited but it's bittersweet. My mom always talked about traveling but sadly did not do much of it. She did however go to Alaska after she graduated from nursing school (20ish) and always talked of going back. She was so very excited about this trip and looking forward to the pictures and stories. Our last phone conversation on Tuesday, about 40 sec in legnth, she said "have fun on the trip, hug Ken and I love you. Im going to sleep now." I know in my heart that she will be on my shoulder as Im looking at glaciers and whales. My mom was remarkable. She was a nurse practioner for 25 years then when to law school at 60yrs old. She was a tireless defender of "the little guy". She homeschooled all us kids (3). Working the night shift most of my life. We bumped heads but she always respected my point of view. I will miss talking with her to clear my head. Thanks for listening. Hugs, A

It was not a total surprise but a shock. I just wasn't ready. When is one ever ready to loose a parent? I am headed to Alaska tomorrow for a long awaited, and over a year in the planning, 60th birthday present(cruise & tour) for my husband. I talked with my family and they all agreed to wait on the memorial service. So I will be flying from Alaska to California on June 19 for a few days with family. Unexpected benefit is I will be spending Father's Day with my Dad. Again thanks for being here and so supportive.

HI it took me a while to feel better. Maybe 2 weeks? I also found it helped to wear a body shaper. The kind of thing you wear to smooth your look under formfitting clothes. It gave me some support in the midsection and helped to stand up straight. I wore it for about a week or two. Try to stretch a bit during the day, not to slouch over. Just something gentle. Feel better. This too shall pass.

I still have this swimsuit...it is too large now. Yeah!

Ok I seem to bitch alot in the Blog about stalling so I guess I should be fair and post about when it is working. Hard work pays off. I've started the downward trend again. Finally. But in retrospect I have to say I wasn't really consistent with my efforts. Since my level of activity has always been pretty active, for my body to lose weight, I really have to kick it up a few notches. So daily runs/jogs/walks and multiple weight training days are needed to boost my metabolism. Upping my water/fluid consumption has seemed to be something that helps too. This is also a more active time of year for me with the addition of water sports and more sunshine. So to those of you struggling- Just keep at it. TTFN, Amanda

I feel it during. Not uncomfortable, just there. (Also during exercise on my front- now that can be uncomfortable) My port can be felt just running a hand down my tummy. Can be seen too.
