Hi all I have some Protein supplements (Individual packets/servings) that I do not need any more. I have the hazelnut one at work all the time. Yum! I personally think the flavor is too light to add to much other then coffee.

Hi all. I had a tiny fill today, but I know something is different. Maybe this will be the sweet spot. :wink2: On the hunger front I'm actually fine. I make it between meals without getting unusually hungry. My problem is portion. I eat out a lot (work + it's just DH & I for dinner) EVERYTHING looks so good on the menu. I try to keep it to appetizer portion but even those can be large. Plus I'm talking while Im eating and before I know it everything on the plate is gone. Booze is also an issue. When I socialize I like to have my glass(es!) of wine. That calorie count can add up. Then a little nibble here or there and BANG!! the pounds come on. I've been keeping up with the trainer 3 times a week with cardio after each session. I swim 45min once a week. :thumbup: I didn't make my goal of being my wedding weight on my anniversary. I'm 15lbs off. :mad2: How about 0nerLand for the New Year. That would be 18lbs for me, which sounds like a lot cause I've only lost 9lbs this last 3 months. Hmmm I'lll give it a shot. :smile2: Man Im sitting here drinking water and it really is going down slow. I will be so bummed if Im too tight and have problems. :sad: On the port discomfort front. I still feel it quite a bit. I asked my Dr and he said that it's normal & the padding over the port is "melting away" (his words). I broke down and bought a bunch of supportive underwear. Wow it really makes a difference in how my clothes fit, very smooth. It just feels weird having a waistband almost at my bra line. Ok enough said. Bye:wink2:

I have recommitted myself. I have an exercise focus. I found a Duathlon (Duathlon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) in my area on Oct 19th. I'm journaling my food . Got to keep a handle on intake. I'm seeing the Dr. on the 9/19, possibly for another fill. Im taking an opportunity to do some volunteer work. Horse therapy. Once a week. I've stated to donate platelets again. Yes life is good.

Im glad you, your family and home are in good shape. Don't go refilling that freezer with tempting stuff. I think it has been said before- you probably would have gained a lot more quitting without the band. You know you can make the band work for you now it is time to put it to work again. Get out and walk. Then report back. We are waiting for an update. Amanda

Last night at dinner my daughter-in-law set the table and gave me a luncheon size plate instead of the dinner plates she gave everyone else. When I raised an eyebrow she said "your little bit of food looks so sad on a big plate". She's right. It does make a difference with the mind. I saw a full plate and didn't feel left out. Just though I would pass that along.

It sucks when folks don't do their job as expected. Take this time to wrap your mind around the band. Ha? Ya I said that. Go over to the pre-op, nutrition, exercise & fitness, post-op boards. Write down your questions to take to the first consult. You should have questions. Also- What are your expectations? What do you think the band will do for you? What are you willing to do for the band? You should have the answers to those questions because any Dr worth anything will ask you something like that. Redirect the frustration you are having to empower yourself to succeed with your decision. That will help with the depression too.

OK Im going to give you some tough love: JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN (eat anything) DOES NOT MEAN YOU SHOULD! Why are you testing your band? Do you want to have problems? What are your food guidelines? Remember protein first & small portions. You are not looking to eat until you feel full at a meal. You are looking to not be hungry. Learn the difference and you will have success! OK Im done. That is such great news!! Try to keep a journal or this blog. Write down your ups, your reasons, questions, answers. Then when you have a down (& we all do) you will have something to go to that will reinforce and refocus your decision and moral. good luck on your journey, Amanda

It might feel like all the other times but this time you probably won't gain it all + more back. As for the bypass- ya it's faster but the other stuff-malnutrition, gas, constipation, stinky poop, stinky farts. Nope I'll take the band over that any day. Im a slow loser too. I hate looking at those scars too. But we are here now. You have to trust that you made the most correct decision at the time. Work with what you have. Get another fill.
