lol at the brazillian Parvathi Isn't it funny though...even as I typed that I knew, this is when I should be doing 'extra' stuff for myself...isn't this when I need it most...when I'm not feeling glam? Oh the mind games *shakes head*

I've already opened an account to put money away for each kilo lost to spend when I reach goal weight. I know I'll already have clothes...I'm sure I won't be shopping naked lol so these will be THE NEW WARDROBE! I want to lose 40 kilos and will reward myself each 4 kilo loss...so 10 rewards. They will be massages and facials...things I don't do now because I feel fat and ugly anyway. Good luck

Hi This is an Australian forum with long term banders 9 -10 yrs BUT I don't know if it is their original band...you would need to ask. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/ozband/ I'm getting the impression that alot of banders who have lost their weight don't contribute to the forums as much...probably out enjoying their new slim lives lol.

Confiding in family is a bummer

I agree Jachut. As much as my initial feeling was to tell no-one...when I thought about the day to day stuff, there were people who simply would notice that something was different/wrong. So I've told those people, but expressed a need to keep this private. One close friend was so relieved when I did share the news, because she had been secretly really worried for me. I didn't realise during the 'finding out' stage I had mentioned the odd doctors appointment - she thought I was sick I wasn't telling anybody. So that confirmed for me that people we are close to pick up on more than we realise AND YES...several people would have 'noticed' the liquid/mushy stage lol. -
I'd love to, it's a week before my surgery...but with the obvious expense of the surgery I just can't justify it

I am also interested in this. I haven't lost anything yet and I think my 'mummy tummy' is only going to get worse as I start to lose.

Our health system is fantastic...especially the private system. I could talk all day about the public system...not so good in places as we know. Overworked and underfunded. I'll be keeping my private health cover!

Hi Kellie That's fantastic news! Unfortunately my hubby has never weighed over 70 something kilos soaking wet...so I've got a while to get to that NSV...but well done! *Walks alway thinking - should have married a fat man* LOL PS Kellie, it was me that emailed you about putting your BMI on your website

Reading this thread is not helping my pre band weight loss attempts :laugh . Thankfully I don't even know what some of those things are! Oh and Zoe, where I live in Australia (it can vary) we call your crisps and french fries both chips. As Parvathi said, we sometimes say 'hot' chips meaning fries. BUT THEY ARE ALL YUMMY
-
I'm the same...love the humble spud in all its forms lol I was hoping (praying) that chips (my absolute weakness) would not be possible with the band...are you saying you can still eat them, only a little bit? That could be dangerous....

Oh Jachut...snap LOL. I'm the exactly the same only not 38 till October. Which uni are you studying at?
