OMG!!!!! I'm so glad you posted this! I wake up and my breath makes me sick!
-
I was ok up until about three days before. They had told me my heart was enlarged and wanted a ct done. the ct came back fine, but I was still a nervous wreck. I actually had tears coming down my face while I was in the pre-op room. Then they gave me something for my nerves. Take a deep breath and try to relax. Good luck on your surgery tomorrow, keep us posted!

My dr said 48 hours after last dose of pain meds...

I'm 11 days post op, and I struggle with my Protein daily! I used the EAS chocolate before, and never had a problem with it. Now it makes me feel nauseous. I also bought some off Amazon that is "unflavored", it stinks so bad I can't even attempt to taste it for fear of gagging. I also bought some vanilla Protein and it does the same as the chocolate. If ou run across something that works, let me know please, bc I'm averaging about 40 g of protein a day.

I had my surgery on the 18th as well. I have been hungry once or twice, but it's not something that happens daily. I am having problems getting all my fluids and Protein in though. Not much longer and we can go to puree foods....Hang in there

my drainage tube came out under my right breast. I had to empty it and record the mL. I'm not pushing the working out right now, but I also don't want to put if off. I asked yesterday at my apt, and they said, whatever I'm comfortable with.

sounds good! great job! im waiting for next tues so I can have cottage cheese!!!!! lol

So I had surgery last tues, and went yesterday for my one week appointment. They took the drainage tube out & said everything looked good! I've also lost 19 lbs!!!! I'm still struggling to get all fluids & Proteins in, but I'm doing better than I was a few days ago with that. I feel very exhausted and tired all the time though. I've told myself all day that I was gonna work out, but it hasn't happened yet. I just don't seem to have the energy. It still hurts a little when I bend over but nothing major. I'm looking forward to cottage cheese next week!!!!!

they put the drainage tube in the day they did the surgery. I keep it for a week and then they take it out.

My legs are also very swollen still, I'm assuming its where I received so much Fluid while in the hospital. Did anyone else have this problem?

I had surgery on the 18th. My incision for my drainage is really sore. That's were my "problem" is. I also have zero appetite. Today I've had 4 oz of chicken broth, and 4 oz of pudding. Getting ready to make myself eat 4 more oz of broth. I know I'm not getting in the Protein I need, but if I eat more, I'm worried I'll hurt my new pouch.

thanks Elode, for some reason I was seeing post-op and not pre-op, lol! Yeah, the drain is my main issue. Its tolerable, but I just worry about catching it on something or whatever. Thanks

Hi, I'm now three days post-op. I slept a lot yesterday, but today I feel restless. How are you doing with soreness and pain? I am ok pain wise, but the area around my drainage tube is where I am the most sore. Does it let up as the days go?

I have blue cross blue shield. I met all requirements with the insurance. I went every month for 6 months and saw my family doctor, and had weight, exercise, and diet documented. Had to see a psychiatrist and all. Its a very lengthy process but well worth it.

So I had surgery on Tuesday, and got released to come home today. Feeling a little sore, but mainly around the drainage tube. So right now, I'm trying to remember to walk every four hours and trying to get my fluids in. I'm excited, but still so nervous, lol.

Hi, I had a chest xray come back abnormal and was then sent for an echo. My echo showed something wrong with the main valve, and so a day before scheduled surgery I had to go in for a ct. My ct showed everything was normal. My dr said that a breast shadow or anything could have shown abnormal on the chest xray. Keep positive and do the additional tests, just to ensure that all is safe. Good luck!

I'm thankful that the anesthesiologist is paying so much attention to the work that's coming through to him. Because honestly without him, I'm not sure if I would have known about the heart condition at all.
-
No I didn't have to see a cardiologist first. Last year I had my gallbladder removed and all tests, ekg, etc. came back normal. This year when I started the process for the sleeve, it was showing abnormalities, so I was sent for an echocardiogram, that was about two months ago. I know that a cardiologist read the results before it was sent to my surgeon but I hadn't been informed of anything until this past Friday.
-
The surgeon has looked at my echo twice, and didn't see a problem with it. The anesthesiologist is the one concerned. I'm going in the morning for the ct, and if there is the slightest risk (increased) while I'm in the o.r. then I know that's it not something I need to do at the time. I didn't even know I had an enlarged heart until Friday though, so I guess I'm confused, angry (that I had the problem & no one has told me) and scared.

Thanks, I will

Did all of you do a two-week pre-op diet? I was told to start mine 48 hours before surgery
-
It's been an emotional weekend. Received the phone call Friday around 3, that the anesthesiologist is concerned about my heart because it's enlarged and wants me at the hospital in the morning for a ct. Today I've had a lot of anxiety, dizzy headedness, and basically, my nerves are just shot. Although, I haven't admitted it to anyone, I'm scared. I've never had health issues, so finding out about my heart 4 days before surgery has thrown me for a loop. With that said, slowly packing a bag, because tomorrow will determine if I have my sleeve Tuesday morning or not.
Your straw story: 5 days post op, just discovered straw dies work for me

I have been wanting to drink from a straw, but have been scared to. I don't think it would bother me, but they stressed not to do it so much that I worry about it. Plus I read on some chat one day, that it would stretch your stomach. Have any of you heard that before, bc I don't see how it could
