well glad you didn't eat the popcorn but the frappe isn't good either loaded with sugar. I read a story on here that hit home for my food addiction. You will no matter what lose the weight at first but if you don't change your eating habits and learn to eat right from the get go you will gain it back. So I hope you do whats best for you and good luck in your journey. It is a hard road to go but if you just do it right it is worth it!

Cheating and how to overcome cravings pre-op?
Veronica Page replied to nyxn's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had a 21 day pre op diet that was liquids only and my goodness was it HARD. I cried a few times and was really mad when people around me ate solid foods but I made the choice to eat the bad foods to cause the weight gain and this is a choice to fix it. I would not beat yourself up about it if you still have 2 weeks to go. I think you should speak to you NUT again and let them know you are having some terrible head hunger and texture cravings they might have some suggestions for you to either one emotionally work through it or two have something you can eat/drink that will help with those cravings. Good luck and stay strong we've all been there! -
Easter error :(
Veronica Page replied to robertweisman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well good thing you recognized the cheat. Be careful and don't bet yourself up. I don't care what most people say...I cheated once while in that first stage. I didn't chomp a cow or anything but I had soup with noodles in it! Just be safe and try to do your best to stick to the stages and no cause yourself personal injury since you are still healing. Wish you the best of luck! -
Well I'm happy you had the confidence to go without a scale and just wing it. I do not have that discipline in my life. I like the scale. Even if it does not move they way I want it to. I do not rely on just the inches off my body. I have set a goal for myself and need to see it through, otherwise for me I have wasted the time and money to get my surgery. I'm jealous of those who just can go on their weight loss journey and just wing it. I can't wing it. I need my food scale, my body scale, my food journal and whatever other tool I can use. I tried doing it without those tools before and I ended up at 310. I don't have any health problems except for diabetes and I've had that since before I was even remotely overweight so I can't even go based on that alone. I'm definitely not obsessed with my scale any more but until I'm more comfortable with my new lifestyle that scale and me are going to be friends! Thank you Kindle for giving us the insight though as to how liberating it can feel though. I hope I can wake up one day and just say eh I feel good and don't need to know the number! That will be something I need to work to.

Well I think I had DUMPING last night...lesson learned!

So I just got back from the gym with my trainer. I puked, it was horrible. I guess I was drinking to much water cause it was a really intense workout and suddenly felt sick. I hate this feeling like I can't get it together. I'll be hurting tomorrow but hopefully it will allow me to see a result soon. I hate my stomach is looking the same! @@suesleeved that is AWESOME to here. Ugh I'm so jealous of you guys who will hit that way before me!

Depending on my day. I still can graze. I ended up joining a food addiction group cause I want to get a grasp on it and it has REALLY helped. Guess only advice I can give it that you went through all this to have a lifestyle change why not make the best of it. It is so hard to cut out those types of habits but I definitely recommend it. You will lose the weight but can gain it back if you do not learn how to have good solid eating habits. Wish you the best of luck!

Well I will tell you to edit your pic and make it smaller and that will fix the upside down factor! Good luck and welcome and great weight loss so far!

Yea mine was definitely acid that was making me feel hungry but I felt like I HAD to eat something other then liquids. I mean TWO weeks of liquids and then I just had two weeks of liquids for a pre op I was going insane. I ended up eating those to go Campbell soups cause they had lil tiny bits of chicken in the noodle soup. It made me mentally fell better but I still stuck to my eating phase 90% of the time! I'm sure it will work for you. Its not forever! Good luck!

lol I haven't had a shake since my surgery. I hate how they taste. Try eggs and vegan burgers cause they are soft and full or protein or make your own protein shakes if the store ones are gross. I did for awhile with soy chocolate milk a banana and unflavored protein shake mix. It was good but I honestly just got tired of them. I'm rooting for you!

Yes....don't worry about it. Everyone gets the stall. I've had two since my surgery both lasting two weeks which means all together I had a month of not losing. I recommend you stay the course and let your body adjust to the large weight loss you have had already. Your body is just working its self out. Drink your fluids and get that protein in and when you least expect it you will see some movement in the scale. If you are cleared for working out just walk a lil extra. I freaked out my first stall and now I just don't care cause I know it will move again and with as much as I work out there is no way I'm not going to see improvements! Good luck! You'll do great!

the acne is caused from the hormone change you might be experiencing. When you go through a weight loss your hormones try to shift back into a normal situation and you tend to experience is. It is normal and within a couple of months you should go back to normal. Drink plenty of water and use a good moisturizer. I was told by my wls group it could happen. I haven't experienced it yet but good to know.

Am I doing ok?
Veronica Page replied to backwoodsbarbie209's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
hey inches is great that means you might be building on lean muscle and if you have more muscle you will burn more fat. I always find it funny at times when people want to have like a 60 lbs drop in a month.....yea come on it is not going to happen unless you were at around 400 to begin with and I also state would you have lost 24 lbs in 7 weeks before. There is no way I could of. If it's inches lost or lbs...it's a loss not a gain right? You are doing great and I'm sure will be happy and enjoy your new journey soon! -
What vitamins do you take?
Veronica Page replied to ladycook9713's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take Twinlab bariatric support Chewable Vitamin taste like a kids flinestone vitamin, I take chewable Calcium with Vitamin D and a liquid Iron pill. I get a vitamin b-12 shot from my doctor since I go to him every week. Thats about it. I wasn't taken any the first month and I paid for it. My anemia for sooo bad I was super lighted and freezing all the time. Still cold but the dizzy spells had kinda gone away. -
Bleh the gym I hate it...but I go 4 times a week and do 90 mins of cardio and 50 mins of weights and then I do yoga at home and I swim at the gym twice a week LATE at night when no one is around. I'd rather chew glass then work this hard but if I don't then I have horrible fatigue and I stall out every other week when I don't. I have a fitbit and the fitbit scale cause it sync with myfitnesspal. I guess if I made a commitment to change I should just go all the way right? Still hate it but I need it!

You are recommended by some surgeons to wear a compression tank top otherwise girdles or corsets I would not recommend til 6 wks or so when the swelling in your stomach as completely gone away. When you speak of keeping things in place do you mean skin? Or I'm not actually sure what that means sorry. I used a compression tank top for the first month and it helped with the discomfort I was feeling in my stomach. Good luck to you.

My nut and surgeon said it was ok since the taste of Water was completely off putting. The sugar is a no no but I use splenda and it was fine with him. Anything is Fluid as long as it is low in caffeine and sugar!

its basically a reset on your pouch to relearn your portion control. I think there might even be a thread about it on here but i did a Google search for it

What do you do with your old fat clothes?
Veronica Page replied to Pac-woman's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
well I hate having a lot of expensive clothes that don't fit which honestly is mostly jeans. I'm lucky and work clothes are scrubs and lab coats but I took my jeans to a seamstress and had them taken in and my shirt are still ok cause I have big boobs still but I would definitively look into craigslist, ebay, kajiji, and garage sales. Everything that doesn't sell goodwill or salvation army it! -
Post surgery work out
Veronica Page replied to raquel_c's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I work out 4 times a week doing 90 mins of cardio and I do have a personal trainer but I only have him for twice a week for a month because I want him to guide me so I can do it on my own. He told me to take yoga or pilates to help with core strenght and I do at home with free videos. When I hit a stall which I have twice already and think I'm about to hit again..I do the pouch test and then really get a sweat going at the gym and get my heart rate pumping. I just tried HIIT too which is great with the mix up and is suppose to help your body. I hope you find what works for you. If you have bad knees or joints swim. I do that too at the end of my cardio to give my knees a break! -
3 months out
Veronica Page replied to holliwood1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm kinda the same way... I can't hardly eat any meats so I don't I eat a lot of cheese but take Fiber mix in my drink every day and since I can't eat the meat and need the Protein I've been eating vegan burgers or chicken patties. I love them but then again I ate them BEFORE I even had surgery. I can eat veggies but they have to be mush practically. I think that you should just try lil thing and see what is tolerated the best. Honestly all you can really do right! I'm sure you will figure out what you can and can not handle. Ask your nut too for suggestions. Like avocados and egg whites. I can't eat the yoke but whites are ok with me. mush fruits like bananas and Water based fruits like watermelon. -
how long did people take off work for recovery?
Veronica Page replied to akreese02's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well everyone is different but I had my surgery on a Monday and went back to work on the following Monday. I was a tiny bit sore but I felt fine otherwise. Just made sure I did not over do anything and tried to drink all day long! Good luck. Do what your body is telling you to do! -
I took a break from bleaching and got a bob and do a deep conditioner every week. I make sure I don't stress and get those vitamins in. I don't have hair loss yet but just in case I'm trying to make it an easy transition. I feel like a pig when I hear that some of you are still taking these lil baby bites and only can eat 2-3 bites and are full. lol the whole month of March I basically could eat 4oz and be fine. I can't eat most meat but everything else I'm ok with. Oh well....maybe I should just do the pouch test to get a grasp on my portion control.

A kind word goes a long way!

Well on my year anniversary I'm having a full body lift and I need to get myself in the best shape possible. It is a concern of mine to still have on so much excess weight and go with my surgery and not be in top shape. It is a struggle for me to go to the gym and push myself so hard but eating is easy...changing that and fixing what I ruined it hard!
