    Disappointed with weight loss progress

    lol in order to "stretch" your pouch, you'd have to be consistently over eating. Once or twice is not going to do that to you. Just like the stomach you had previous before. You did not add the weight on in over a week or two it took years. Its all about portion control and self control. It's a hard road to take but I tell people if you had a real addiction to food no shame in getting some help. I go to OA meetings every week. I work out every day but Saturday I log everything even if its bad and I tell myself its ok to mess up but get it together and make it right tomorrow. I'm not ashamed of who I was, I'm proud to know I had the brains and logic to stop the cycle now and get better! Enjoy this experience and don't let it get your down!

    Slow losing due to diabetes?

    I have type 2 and I have not had much problems with weight loss except for the occasional stall. I really watch my carb intake though and for the first two month checked my sugar so often in fact after every meal I ate to see what I could and could not eat. Good luck to everyone!

    Disappointed with weight loss progress

    Do you ever consider maybe just tweeting your diet and trying to really get back into basics to jump start some real weight loss. I too lose weight sooooo slow but I found out that with me basically carbs are just the devil with my body and I have to really work out. Which I can't say I'm that bummed about. I loathe working out but I'm kinda happy I'm not just going to be thinner but healthier. I did a lil experiment with myself. I ate how I had been and checked the scale once or twice a week for a month and realized that I did not have any weight loss. Then I decided let me cut back on some carbs and really focus on my weight loss again. In two weeks I dropped 7lbs. So I now know my issue. I hope you find your groove. Good luck!
  4. Getting a seat belt extender for the airplane was a worry for me and then feeling like I was embarrassing my kids when I picked them up for school. Not being able to sit at a booth when that was all that was left to sit at.

    Personal experience don't listen to them all the time. Its just a check up and if you do well with smaller meals then you do what is best for you. I too eat three meals a day and 2-3 snacks. My Nut said as long as my snacks aren't carb loaded and are made with the awareness they are just a SNACK then it is ok. I tend to get hungry every couple of hours myself. I'm like you when someone makes a negative comment and just turn back to my old eating habits. I think it is because I'm in control of my bad eating habits and since I can't control others opinions of me I just eat. So dumb but I do it. Keep your head up and listen to your own body. Everyone is different.
  6. I sooo miss buffalo wings but since I can't eat and drink at the same time I just won't eat them anymore. Its sad cause I can smell them sometimes when I go past my local pizza place! I think i'll live though!

    Yea cause I work out 6 days a week my nut said I can introduce certain carbs like certain veggies and fruits. I added quinoa and some Asian rice and I notice that it leaves the restriction in me but I only do that once a day at dinner so I feel like I'm hungry all the other times. I forced myself to stop the grazing cause its adding unnecessary calories but its hard I'm not going to lie. Guess those old habits are just bringing its ugly head around again!

    SO let me ask a question...are any of you experiencing uncontrollable hunger? I am. Its been the past two days I'm just sooo hungry and nothing is really filling me up and I don't want to continue on like this. I want to blame the TOM but who knows. If any of you have had this what have you done to get over it?

      Its strength training but instead of using weights you are using your own body as the weights. Its a pretty good workout and I enjoy it but if you don't do it regularly man you really hurt the next day!

    Cardio or weight training

    You do both. The more muscle you have the more calories you burns. Cardio is great for fat loss but you just simply need both for great results 20-30 minutes if cardio with 15-30 mins of strength training is enough for you to see and maintain decent results. I too have a training who says both is equally important

    Sleevers over 300lbs?

    My highest weight ever before my 6 month supervised diet was 346. My pre op diet I was 314 day of surgery 297. today I'm 227. There is hope out there for everyone, its a struggle but as long as we keep reminding ourselves of how great we feel and how far we've come we will all be successful in our weight loss!

    Bruising very easy?

    Well I was going to say low in Iron but apparently your blood work came back just fine. I had anemia before I had surgery and mine is worst since then. I have bruises everywhere and they can take a month to heal. I wish I had more advice but certainly do not. Good luck!
  15. So I already went through my last supper syndrome phase and eat everything in my kitchen including the sink. So I'm def ready to get started of my pre-op weight loss. So I'm keeping my food at a modest 1200 calories recommended to me by my doctor and also suppose to major cut out carbs. I'm day two of that and have major head hunger. When it is genuine hunger I just have a shake and I'm fine I'm use to eating whenever and whatever I want. I know the typical answer is it worth it and keep your eyes on the prize but lets be real if we didn't have some form or another of bad eating habits we wouldn't be here. I'll take any suggestions!

    Nothing tastes good

    YES....Only thing that I can still taste and is decent is salt. Anything with sugar gross, any veggies that arent steamed and have salt gross, water gross.....I could go on and on but you get the point, they yet don't know why this happens but it just does. Hang in there!

  18. I'll just tell you that I had my surgery in mexico and I do not regret it at all. I went to Mexicali and my surgeons info is also posted on here as well. If you need any advice there is a whole forum on here about surgeries in Mexico and would be happy to tell you about my experience. Good luck

    well not that I'm ANYWHERE near goal but the lower your bmi and weight the harder it is for your body to consistently lose. When you intensify your workouts you don't want to get so low in calories it is unhealthy. That will tell your body to hold onto some of the weight til your glycogen is back up to proper levels. Great job so far,

    @@Soon2beslimSamantha it does feel like night and day and I'm happy so far just wish that I could kick some of the bad eating habits. I do fairly well for most parts. Like I was really addicted to sugar and since it doesn't taste as good its not much of a problem for me anymore but I still love salty things and most things with salt have carbs. I was not planning on giving up everything to achieve a new life. I wanted to know what it was like to eat in moderation and workout and learn to be healthy and happy all at once.

    Sugar does not taste as good as it use to. That was my downfall along with chips. It taste like chemicals. Somethings are ok, but I notice that I tend to get a stomach ache after I eat it and just say well if I have to deal with this and it doesn't even taste that good why bother. Now if I could just kick chips lol!

    Being so "young" but a mom to a lil boy at a my age was the start. My body hurt, I had no energy and just felt terrible. So first trigger for me was the cruddy feeling I had every day; then I went to my brothers wedding and someone took a pic of me and I saw what I looked like that was REALLY it for me. You look in the mirror and kinda just don't see it but when you look at a pic you are like holy cow its really bad, I was going to go for bypass but heard that sleeve was safer and just all around medically better for me. I don't regret anything. I'm off my diabetic meds. have tons more energy and would of never seen these results without my sleeve.

    Are pork rinds sliders?

    Id say they almost lean towards yes in a sense. Takes awhile to get full from them and they are high in calories. Id say for a here or there snack sure but I'd measure out an amount and when you are done that's that.
