Dumping comes from the other end! And for those of you experiencing the horrible constipation I def recommend getting your fiber in every day. I was not going to share but two weeks ago I had to go to the ER because I could not pass my BM and had to do a manual kinda thing. I felt like dying due to embarrassment but I'm not going to lie it was like having an elephant off my chest. I learned my lesson and decided on a probiotic and or activia yogurt! Ok that was my lil TMI

It is really hard to get outside it is freezing and the snow is covering up the walking trails. Not to be a priss but I'm not tramping through snow and risking a twisted ankle. I need to work out so bad though cause I've been pretty sedentary the past three days and believe me the scales and inches are proving it already. it would really stink cause I just broke my stall and would love to be a big loser in the first 6 months. I need to get something I can work out on in my condo but it is just so small and those things are so big and bulky. ugh if it is not one thing it is another right? Just need a lil break here.

What is Your Goal Weight at 5'5
Veronica Page replied to sukik's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
5'4 1/2 and I was recommended at 150 but my personal goal is 140. Everyone has a different body though so as long as it is a healthy BMI I'll take it. -
If you had a hietal hernia fixed during surgery I recommend taking Nexium but if since it take 7 days to really kick in you can take tums until then. It is what most doctors seem to be recommending.

@@Eurogirl10 Well I think we all need to realize that the first couple of days up to a week is pure water weight. We are so use to pure sodium and carbs and food that is constantly holding up water and now that we are losing actual fat our bodies are adjusting and need to up some of our work outs and intake or other foods and fluids. I'm able to drink about 60 oz of fluid every day. I drink every 5-6 mins and make sure its constant UNLESS I'm about to eat and then I stop 30 mins before and 30 mins afterwards. I def tend to throw up if I don't. I'm on solid food but I'm only eating one solid meal a day because I feel like I can hold a lot of food in my stomach. So I drink two protein shakes a day now I was on 3 but two is enough and that gets me about 50-70 g of protein a day (just shake wise) in. I use soy milk which has protein in it and make my own shakes. I don't get that chalky taste going with bananas and protein scoops. Its about 150 cal per shake. Then I decided to add some shredded baked chicken and fish and some soft cheeses and red meat but only roast beef cause its soft. I eat about 600-700 cals a day. Since I walk 5 miles a day...I'm burning more then I intake so that's what pushed my stall. During my stall I was only working out once a week and realized that I needed to vamp it up! Good luck and don't worry it will come! Promise. Look into myfitnesspal and get yourself a fit-bit or something. I have both and it helps me achieve my daily goals.

Lol AWESOME NSV! I love when I went out to eat and sat at the booth and it was roomy! BEST feeling EVER! I walk about 5 miles a day it is just brrrr cold today and I hate working out in the cold plus I know this is petty but I hate getting wind burn and I do get it here. I was thinking about trying to find a workout buddy cause it would be more motivating and I would not feel singled out. I also was thinking that since I don't sleep til 4am I would go to the gym late at night on my husbands days off. That is 3 days a week and I feel that is good enough.

Question about first few weeks weight loss
Veronica Page replied to joleno's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just got out of the dreaded 3 week stall and it was brutal. I was almost at tears most of the time and it took its toll on me but when I broke it I realized that I was being pretty silly about the whole thing. I would of never lost even close to this much weight without the surgery so I was worried about losing what? ....Three maybe four pounds? If you are truly concerned about it though. Which I was I went back to basics. I went back on the liquid diet. Made sure if anything I got in 50g of protein and 90% of my water. If you choose to eat the pureed stuff just watch for sodium in foods it can tend to hold the water and also vamp up your work out a lil. I broke my stall in about 2 days of doing this. Good luck and don't worry your body does need time for adjustments and you will start to lose again real soon. Good luck! -
Inches are great and I would be happy with inches lost....muscle gained probably. I noticed I was eating things with some high salt intake. I think that is why I need to make sure if anything I got my Fluid intake. I still need to lose those 3lbs by March to keep my motivation going, I want to get a workout in but I do not want to go to the gym. Still don't feel confident enough to stand in front of those people. Especially at my gym it seems like every super fit person works out there.

You'd think I'd learn!
Veronica Page replied to kimpossible67's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Are you able to at any point and time drink soda? I was told that was something I needed to understand that pretty much going to have to give that up for a life time. I still hear that a lot of my friends on here are in the sipping stage and I can drink just fine but I don't know if I would be bold enough to gulp. lol Sorry for the pain and hopefully you will learn! lol every day is a learning processes. -
I hate the taste of Water and have a huge problem get in "water" so I had to call my doctor cause it was concerning for me. They insisted that it didn't have to be water it just needed to be fluids. Something with low sodium and no sugar. I'm taking that and running with it. I can not drink anything warm which I notice a lot of people saying they can not handle cold. It 75% ice and 15% the drink.

Didn't loose as much as I thought I would at this point .....
Veronica Page replied to Jennifer4775's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You know what I think about the slow weight loss. How much slower would it of been if you did not have the surgery? I gave up sugar and flour and soda and anything fried for TWO yrs and loss the total of 6lbs. I know we all get this thought that is going to melt off and I was panicked last week cause I stalled out but I guess the best thing is you are losing. The scale isn't going up. Be positive and remember stress can hinder weight loss and enjoy the journey. We are all here to support you during that journey! -
I'm still on the liquids mostly but I have added in one solid meal. So I do three homemade protein shakes and one 4oz dinner. Either fish or I have been making those no crust pizzas. They are ok but I'm using some turkey pepperoni cause one less fat and calories but second they are softer. So have a sweetness to them. I was 273, 13 days ago went up to 275 for 10 days or so then today I was 270. So it has moved. I'm grateful cause it was really causing some stress within me. How has yours been going? Did you get out of the stall? Also to add I know this is pushing it but I'd love to lose 3 more pounds before March so I can have an even 40lb loss. Fingers crossed!!!!!

Well I'll go based on my own experience. I could eat it but it had to be the lean ground meat. The fatter kind mad me sick and felt like my stomach was swimming in oil even though I drained it well. I did the lean and just chewed and chewed my nut said as long as I could tolerate it well and it was soft it was fine.

Well I include my pre op. Its hard to be on a liquid diet for two weeks so def including in mine. Although I only lost 13lbs before surgery and have lost 20 something pounds since surgery!

My period was a really weird one. It was only a day and it was light but I talk to my gyno and she said that is completely normal. One because you are losing weight super fast in most causes and also surgery is huge and it can throw your body off. couple of months it should be back to normal. I DEF don't mind not having mind right now!

How often do you poop? Don't be shy!
Veronica Page replied to Bronco0605's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm only going once every couple of days and I would LOVE to go every day I think that is why I'm experiencing some bloating in my tummy area. I have been taking a daily fiber in my drink to give me what I'm not eating and taking a probiotic. I'm hoping as I get back into normal foods that is will help me out in that department. -
What's everyone eating one month out ?
Veronica Page replied to hootney1214's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started eating eggs. Omelette style only and I have eatten some tender roasted chicken and soft cheeses. Like laughing cow. I have been eating rare roast beef since it is the softest and broiled or grilled or baked fish like salmon and swai. I still drink half a Protein shake a day but it gags me cause I'm over them. Otherwise I drink tons of unsweeten decaf tea and Vitamin Water zero plus 4-5 glasses of water a day. -
MEDICAL BRACLETS
Veronica Page replied to Ladyrider323's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a medical id bracelet. Not only to say I'm diabetic but to also say that I have my vsg surgery and can't have the NG tube and no nsaids. It is just a lil helpful hint to ppl who are going to be trying to help you out and don't have that info. It is not expensive and something that will not hurt. -
@@Eurogirl10 Dreaded three week stall...FINALLY broke mine today. It is sooo brutal but just keep doing your thing. I was moaning and groaning all week long driving people insane. I hope you break yours soon. I had to go back to liquids only for a couple of days to break mine and really get my water intake going.
