I definitely eat salad cause most meats sit on my stomach like bricks and need some food. I use baby spinach and just have cheese and some really small cubes ham or shredded chicken cause those I seem to be able to hold down otherwise I will cook a soy burger or chicken patty and cut it up to put in my salad. I use a dressing that is no carbs and sugar. I just ran out and can not remember the name to it. I work out 4-5 times a week doing 90 mins of cardio and work out with a trainer for strength twice a week. I started doing yoga to help my core strength but I don't love it. Honestly I was hoping I would of lost more but I would of never lost this much without the surgery so can I really complain? Nah...so I'm not complaining just would love to have a lil more. I'm super jealous of you guys that are so close to goal but then again you nipped your weight in the butt before it got to my amount! Good for you!

Losing weight from where?
Veronica Page replied to 2NewBeginningsxoxo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You know I asked my doctor the same thing..he said we lose it from the strangers places first. Our feet, toes, fingers, face anywhere that doesn't have a ton of fat. Also from around inside or organs. Don't stress he said if you don't see the difference right off the bat. It kinda sucks cause I need to loss off my belly. It will happen. I take pics every monday in the same clothes and I guess I see a lil difference but I definitely want to see more! -

Surgery 3-16-15 an starving
Veronica Page replied to stephnichols's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well not that we all don't have those moments where we want to shove things in our mouths that we aren't suppose to, it definitely not hunger...well starvation hunger anyways. Maybe a lil head hunger. If your stomach is gurgling and making we feel that way or if you had a hernia you might need pepcid or prevacid to help you, I was warned by my doc that I could get the misconception of hunger if I didn't take mine. I also get myself into a food addiction group because I knew that was my problem as most. I'm addicted to eating, I hope you figure it out cause it is life changing and you have to have the mindset change towards food in order for this whole lifestyle change to work, Good luck to you! -
I agree. I think even though we are human and have the right to our own opinions in life, this is a support group and need to be positive to one another. We have not a clue what is going on within others personal lives and this could possibly be the only way that someone is able to get the encouraging support they are seeking. I will not trash anyone else's personalities or need for advice. I have asked numerous question and looked to my fellow users for info and support. I just wish everyone luck and hope they succeed within their own journeys.

The gym is my new drug!

could be anything...probably Water weight. You realize your would have to not only eat the regulated amount of food to keep your body at the weight you are now but on top of that each 3500 calories EXTRA to even gain one pound. So it is nothing to stress about. It happen to me once and I flushed my body for 48 hours didn't step on that scale and when I did next it was back where it should be!

No need to beat yourself up over it. Just try to not do it again and if you are finding it really hard to stick to it speak to your doctor. Its not to punish you or get you use to the diet but to get you in good standing health before surgery. If you are having some trouble cause you are really hungry but maybe have head hunger you should try to find an in-town support group before surgery because it does not go away just because you have a smaller stomach. Good luck to you and I'm sure you will do fine. Be strong!

I've noticed Mexico surgeons don't require pre op diets like US Drs ?
Veronica Page replied to Goldy6575's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Think it just depends on your surgeon. I have a 21 days pre op of no carbs most of the time and two weeks of liquid diet. I had to lose between 10-15lbs before surgery. -
look at you Miss Sexy with her goal so close insight! Way to go! I'm really tired but I'm still moving and trying to stay as healthy as I possibly can. I need to maybe try to work in some more healthy veggies but they still hurt my stomach a lot! losing weight steady now but every 10lb loss I get a stall! Wait and see right lol! Hope everyone else is still doing really well.

Yea I have just once a week weigh in from the trainer and I'm not losing tummy wweight which is a bummer but I guess It will come off when it's suppose to. It is hard not to move after working out but I haven't used my muscles for so long there is not much that was going to prevent that.

Day 10 post op - scale did not go down
Veronica Page replied to michellc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't weight yourself everyday. Just once and while and you need protein especially lean protein. When you are in-taking so lil the sugar and carbs could work against you and you don't even realize it. It will move and you will see progress again but SUPER important to get that protein and water in, Water taste bad drink anything sugar free and carbonation free, Good luck. -
Here is a weird question if anyone can answer. I have this shirt that I love and could wear when I was 270 and couldn't at my start weight of 310....well now i'm 258 and it still does not fit.....is it cause I'm losing weight everywhere but my stomach? SO annoying!
-
I know isn't it nuts....? When I was this weight last and noticed I was like ew what it is going on i'm gross. Which is weird cause I allowed myself to still gain an extra 50lbs. Now I feel so much but and my clothes do feel larger I just want to look in the mirror and say wow I really can see the difference. I will be patient and not even think about it anymore!

Having doubts -- still a food centered life?
Veronica Page replied to Thinside's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All I'm going to say is that I pre-make all my lunches not my dinners and breakfast foods and log everything. This way if I don't lose weight I'm the one held accountable for my mistakes. Its a lil time consuming at first but you then learn to do it so fast that you don't notice the whole 3 minutes it took you to do it. I will give you advice my Nut told me when I first whined about the food logging. If you have time to complain about it you have time to log it. Kinda makes sense. Good luck to you! -

4 weeks out. Depressed and questioning my choice.
Veronica Page replied to lclemur's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I didn't read what anyone else said but I think time to time we all kinda feel this sense of sadness or depression. Its like a loss or break up. You broke up with your larger portions of food and loss the relationship you previously had with your stomach. I question myself every week. Its hard to go out to dinner and order the grilled fish or shrimp or boring chicken when everyone else is having something just yummy. Your way didn't work on controlling your eating and this is the way you have chosen to dig yourself out of that hole. I won't lie I go to a food addiction meeting every week. I'm addicted to food, if I wasn't then all those diets would of worked and surgery would of not happened. Its not to say you can't ever eat the things you had before, it is to say you will learn what comes first and how to control what you eat. The old saying is you no longer live to eat but eat to live. I hope you come to love your new life and the reclaiming of happiness as you continue along, Every day I question my choice and it takes some convincing at times but I know I did the right thing. I'm sure you will too. Spending you good vibes and wishing you the best of luck! -
Week 2... Over did it and scared.
Veronica Page replied to me redefined's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You aren't going to stretch your sleeve with this one minor slip. I think you should just be really diligent and stick to your allowed foods as close as possible. It is not the stretching you should be so concerned with but the fact you might be eating foods that can affect your sleeve. If you are having some snack attack issues call your nut and see what is recommended for you within your phase and in your caloric intake. wish you the best! -
Ate too much!
Veronica Page replied to SleekSleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is the reason I can't eat much meats yet. If it is anywhere near dry I feel like I have a brick in my stomach and it is sitting in my throat. I def think walking helps but I have actually naturally thrown up cause of the feeling. Chew chew chew sometimes til it is mush helps. Glad it passed cause it is the worst feeling EVER! -
Hello everyone....
Veronica Page replied to ElaineD31's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome to the site. I found that this is the best support I have ever had and without it I don't think I would be as successful, Great weight loss so far and I'm sure you will really enjoy your new life and journey! Wishing you tons of luck! -
Ugh I can't wait til I'm in the onederland numbers. I still have so far to go and it is taking a long time mentally but in reality I know it is not bad at all. I started going to the gym this week for 90 mins of cardio and I do 50 mins of strength training with my trainer. I have manage to burn off more then what I eat every day which I think pushed me over my stall. THANK GOODNESS....I really don't seem to mentally handle the stalls very well. I know I should be patient cause I tell others to but man it is really annoying. I did take my monthly pics and I can not see the different but I def can feel the difference. I'm down three pant sizes and I can fit into old clothes but in the pic I just can not see a difference. I think that will be the best NSV for me when I can really see a difference. I'm super proud of everyone on this thread. I think we are all doing so well. A year ago I did not think I would ever see this weight again and I'm glad I finally decided to take my life back and break up with my addiction to food, Well, I'll always be addicted but now I have learned how to fight it!

Extreme Fatigue - 3 Months Out.
Veronica Page replied to gabrielle2014's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
SO funny you just posted this topic cause I was just saying that I was crazy tired all the time. I went and had bloodwork done cause I was getting paranoid and everything is fine. My doctor suggested that since we are eating so lil and burning off the normal amount it is just natural for us to get this way. When our caloric intake gets a lil higher the fatigue should wear off and life should get back to normal. I do feel like I'm in my first trimester of pregnancy with all this sleepiness! Good luck to everyone! -
I don't think most people have a problem with popcorn as long as it is chewed really well I think my only concern is that it is considered a slider food to most surgeons and nuts. It breaks down in the mouth and has lil to no value caloric or nutrition wise. Hey we have to treat ourselves once in a while I say but that's me!

I personally can't have too much fruit or juice of any kind cause I'm diabetic but you would have to look into your nut for that. I hear a lot of people are having juice and oranges and apples. I think it just has to be keep in the healthy range of sugar. I also found that veggie straws are a good way to cut the salt craving without going nuts. there are so many bariatric recipe site on the web. I got a lot of ideas from there and also just reading packages. I don't bring what I can't eat into my house and what my kids eat i have them locked up and don't have the key and don't know where it is!
