When did you start to feel hunger?

I have been feeling hunger since I woke up from surgery! That was an unpleasant surprise for me! I have to track each bite of food and constantly drink water, tea etc to keep full.
  2. I have at least one protein shake a day. I am 3 months out from surgery and 53 lbs. lost.
  3. eagersleever15

    How old are/were you?

63 years old...wish I would have done it years ago! Love my sleeve!
  4. eagersleever15

    Clothing size

Started out at 16w - 18w. My surgery was January 29. I am now wearing 10-12 pants and medium or large tops (depending on style and brand). I have lost 51 lbs. and working on losing 20 more.

Is this the right surgery for ME?

I am one of the people who was sleeved but I am always hungry! The difference is that I cannot eat very much and I follow the "rules". I also log everything I eat into the "lose it" app. I also work out everyday. I am 10 weeks post op and down almost 50 lbs. (from the beginning of my journey). I love my sleeve! I have no regrets and have not had a single problem. I am 63 years old. Bro was 33

Question regarding 7 weeks post op

Oh I should add that I am 63 years old and retired so I have lots of time to exersize! : ). I am 5' 6"

Question regarding 7 weeks post op

I am nine weeks post surgery. STarting weight 237.9. Day of surgery 218. Current weight 190. I exersize 6 days a week. I walk on the treadmill or do the elliptical 40-60 minutes and lift weights. My doctor had no restrictions so I have been working out since one week post op, just didn't do abs and of course duration and intensity has steadily increased.

    Everyone exercises?

I go to the gym, play golf or walk everyday with the exception of some Sunday's. I have a walking buddy who I walk with at a local mall once a week and we walk and talk for 5 miles then have coffee. It is fun and doesn't really feel like exersize. I must say tho, since my surgery exersize is no longer a chore but something I look forward to, especially as I see the scale moving in the right direction!

    3-26-15

My experience was the same...I am 2 months post op and haven't had one single problem!!! I am down 47 pounds total. I feel so very blessed!
  10. I am one week post op. I was nervous until they put me under. At one week post op, I feel great, have had no problems ( not what I expected at all). I am able to get my fluids in as well as about 50 protein. I couldn't be happier! My biggest concern is that I don't feel any restriction yet and I still feel hungry a lot which I thought that hunger would be gone. Getting a bit tired of liquids (4th week) but know it's only a matter of time. Good luck to you!
  11. I can drink a protein shake in less than an hour and am having no trouble getting my liquids in every day. I am 6 days post op and really have no complaints! I really don't feel any restriction yet. I am walking about 2 miles a day. I have absolutely no regrets!

    Why am I hungry?!

I feel kinda dumb asking but what is PPI? I am also feeling quite hungry at 4 days post op.

    No appetite post op

I was sleeved the same day. First day and a half had nothing but sips of water. Today I have been sipping water and Gatorade. I also had 2 ounces of soup and one pure protein shake (took 8 hours to drink it one sip at a time). Sadly, I have felt hunger. I was hoping that I would not feel hunger anymore. I do not yet know what full feels like. I have done a fair amount of walking today and really feel pretty good.

    Calling January Sleever????

Got my new date after having my surgery cancelled this morning. January 29th. I am able to eat until Friday when I have to go back on liquids. (Have already been on liquids for two full weeks!). Have to redo blood work, cross matching and the bowel cleanse. The fun never stops!!!

    Calling January Sleever????

My worst fear has come true. It is 6:15 am I am dressed and ready to go to the hospital because I am supposed to be there by 7:00 am for my 9:30 surgery. I have been on liquids for two weeks, clear liquids for two days, done my bowel prep (yuck) . My doctors office calls to tell me that my doctor is very sick and canceling my surgery today with no idea when it will be rescheduled. I can't believe it and beginning to wonder if this is a sign that I shouldn't be doing this....

    Less activity

I am 63 and will be sleeved tomorrow morning. After all the hoops, I can't believe it's finally here! Feeling a bit of nerves but know it will be worth it. My starting weight was 237. Current weight 222. Have high blood pressure, fatty liver, type 2 diabetes. I am hopeful to eliminate all that. One step at a time. Tomorrow I will be on the losers bench!!

    Calling January Sleever????

Tomorrow is my day!!! Can't believe it is here. Down 10 lbs. from pre op diet. I am scared, nervous, excited, anxious. Etc. overall, I feel ready. Have had some dark thoughts wondering if I am making a huge mistake but I know that is just the nerves. Tomorrow I will be on the losers bench!!! Hallelujah!!!

    Surgery Feb 9

I am on day 8 of the liquid pre op diet and it has gotten so much easier. I had two days of bad headaches but since then, other than being hungry and being sick of jello, it is fine now. My surgery is one week from today and I have jumped through all the hoops and all there is to do now is show up the 19th at 7:00 am. Can't believe it is finally here!

Keeping it a secret? Anyone else

I was not wanting to tell my mom. She is 88 and very opinionated, especially where I am concerned. My sister told me I needed to tell her because if anything happened or she found out later, she would be devastated. She surprised me with her support, however, I told her this was very private to me and I did not want her to tell anyone. I would like to be the one to share my journey with who I choose which is very limited. She assured me she understood. My mother then shared it with my brother and sister who I would NEVER have told. I am really upset with her and sorry I told her!

    Any sleeved golfers?

I am wondering how long after getting sleeved I will be able to play golf. Anyone have experience with that?
