I did my gastric sleeve surgery on October 8. So far so good!!! I am towards the end of my puree/soft food journey. I used to feel tired most of the time, but this is getting better and I am getting my energy back. I used to have a constant upset stomach and I used to feel nauseated a lot, however this is subsiding but the nausea comes and goes. I heard that, this too, shall subside.
I am having the hardest time drinking water and tolerating it without feeling like I have to throw up. Taking vitamins has been quite challenging too. I have tried many kind of liquid Calcium and liquid multivitamins but the last one last night, "Alive" brand made me throw up.
I have been throwing up the last week or so couple of times, but not too sure why. I think I am eating slowly and really unable to eat much. What I have been able to tolerate quite well is chicken broth and vegetable soup puree that I cook. I have tried tuna salad and it was quite ok, I just have to eat it super super slow and very small spoonfull.
I like to cook and I have been making my own food. I wanted to make sure to eat fresh vegetable and I want to make sure my meals are nutritious. I really do not eat much of any kind of meat, very rare and just occasional. I like fresh cooked vegetable and all kind of beans.
Constipation has been an issue but I think I found a way around it, I take one of those little Yacult every night and I make sure I eat one Greek yogurt Activia every day. Let me tell you it has helped a lot!!!!
So far I lost a total of around 23/25 Lbs since my heaviest weight before the surgery. The day of the surgery I had lost 8Lbs just doing the liquid preparation diet! quite impressive. I used to have swollen feet all the time and now I cannot believe that I have normal feet!!!! my doctor asked me to stop all cholesterol medication and high blood pressure medication. This is wonderful!!!! I feel great.
Next week I am supposed to start normal eating and normal diet. I am quite worried because I can hardly eat more than couple of bites. My taste buds have changed too, I am now craving more salty food, but still, I enjoy the first bite then cannot eat anymore. Just hoping that things get better, I am sure it will take some time.
Glad I started this journey and gained my health back. I will be very happy with another 20Lbs weight loss, but so far so good!!! no rush!!! it will happen anyway .
