Bariatric Vitamin home delivery good? Or No?
largeininc replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My NUT have this out during the group pre op appointment this week. She said it is personal preference due to whether or not you like the pills and stuff. -
I start a week of liquids pre-op tomorrow. I have down up to six weeks of liquids before so I hope I can manage this week

Still looking for people scheduled in March
largeininc posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am scheduled for surgery in March and I have yet to find anybody that is going to be there with me. If you think that you are, or you just want to help me out when my inevitable struggles come, let me know. Really just looking for some support from those who understand what it is I'm going through. Thanks -
Still looking for people scheduled in March

I guess that makes sense. I have a four month wait so the earliest we figure I can get it done is March unless the insurance doesn't play games. -

I'm done telling folks. They don't get it
largeininc replied to wannaBthinsoon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess with my related health issues, I am not nervous about telling people. I really dont care what others think and if they dont like it, they are free to pursue conversations, friendships and the what not other places. I feel for the people that have had to endure negative reactions to a surgery that most people truly know nothing about. I consider myself a reasonably intelligent individual and knew nothing about this journey that has been forced upon me. I revel in the positive, avoid the negative and that goes for people too. For all of us, this is stressful enough that we should not entertain those that are not supportive. Everybody that knows me, knows I am having surgery. A few who I trust understand the impact on my life, the reasons why I am pursuing this and very real negatives if I dont. That is enough for me. To those who need more support, I can listen.... -

Is a colonoscopy a requirement for the sleeve surgery?
largeininc replied to wannaBthinsoon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had both. The Colonoscopy for my diverticulitis and the endo as prep for my wls. Neither are horrible. The worst part was the mask for endo getting caught in my beard. -
Surgery in 3 weeks!
largeininc replied to Blue_Disciple's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gotta say that I am jealous....my surgery is not scheduled until March. Wishing you luck on your journey! -
I was stuck with the JP drain for 6 months after a colon resection (sp) last dec. I understand the pain. Good luck and my prayers are with you.

Cold Feet....Nerves...All of the above! :-(
largeininc replied to little_ms_sunshyne's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck tomorrow and remember that many people do not have all the facts when they judge our decisions. Believe in yourself and in your doctor....you are going to be fine. And dont forget to continue breathing! -
First, I'm sorry for your loss. Secondly, I'm sure we have all dealt with the insecure feelings associated with why we are doing what we want to do. However, you made a decision to go through with this and I doubt those reasons have changed. I'd like to parrot SCSTXRN and tell you to start writing things down. When I have problems I tend to rank the importance of my issues compared to the importance of what I want. It helps me, maybe it can help you. And continue to stay on this site, even though I have not posted a lot on here, I read a ton. The people here are great, they are positive and most of all they know what we are going through. Minus one unbelievably negative interaction, all have been supportive.

Your looking good!! I need to start taking pictures but also refuse. I may bend to the popular consensus though.....we will have to see.
-
Good luck with everything. If I understand everybody, you will may be challenged for the next two weeks. Remember why you are doing what you are doing and stay strong. I am about 2 months behind you in my journey. And yes, the ads are horrible, but it is the way our society is structured. Good luck and keep us posted. Sam

Keep waiting for the shoe to drop...
largeininc replied to audefacere's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope that my experience is half as good as yours. It is people like you that give me hope that this surgery will be different than my other experiences. I feel like we have more control over how our body will adjust to the new way of life and that if I do not do well, it will be because of my actions. I hope you continue with your positive change. Just wanted you to know that your experience has given me hope!! Have a good New Year's!! -
Mine is Dr Park at Durham Regional

So nobody in Raleigh or a date in March?
-
Is this thread dead, or are there so more NC Sleevers out there? Just curious. I am in Raleigh and have a date of March 17th.
-
My doctor scheduled me for March 17. That is a long ways off. I don't see the doctor again until Feb 9. I have all my tests done except my heart test. So now I will sit and wait.......... This part of the process is defeating. I have a massive hernia that I am waiting to get fixed after I have a sleeve done. Was just told that I would most likely have to wait for a year to finally get my hernia fixed, after my sleeve surgery. The frustrating part is that if I didn't have the hernia, I would not need the sleeve. Anybody care to chime in with their thoughts on this?

Finally have a date, sort of....
largeininc replied to largeininc's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Apparently it is way to big and I'm to big. Too much pressure on the hernia to repair it.
