Wife has gained a few pounds and totally freaked out!!
banded_for_life replied to lawdawg18's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, once you go back to solid foods, it is normal to see some weight gain back and it is OK! The band is designed to work with a fill. Just advise her to continue to eat good healthy meals like she has been doing and make sure that she is watching her calorie intake and getting enough water. Fitday is a good free source to log those calories. Best wishes! -

Congratulations!!!! Keep up the great work!! -
I agree...Mandesa really rocked it this last week. I wasn't really impressed with any of the men yesterday...not even Ace and he usually floats my boat.

Yes, your appetite will come back...so be prepared. :-) You are probably still swollen. Best wishes on your continued recovery.

How many calories are you eating?
banded_for_life replied to ELENATION's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I stay between a 1000 and 1200. They are rare occasions that I will get up to 1300. I try to keep my carb grams at 30% of my total calorie ratio...fitday does that for me. -
199!!! Wheww….sitting here kinda in a daze ….you go into this hoping that it is the right thing to do…and pretty soon you are losing 10, 20, 30 pounds and you are saying…wow..it is like a dream. I sit here with tears in my eyes…I am below 200 pounds for the first time since 1984, when I was 19 years old. I made so many broken promises to myself…you know the ones…when I get x weight, I am really going to start getting serious about losing weight and you just keep raising the limit until you get up to 270 pounds and at 5’1…I was looking pretty bad. I can say in all honesty that things are starting to turn around! ffice:office" /> So here are all the good things that have happened since I got my miraculous band: I lost 71 pounds so far in a little less than 6 months, as well as hitting that goal before my birthday, which is coming up this month. I have lost 52 inches all over my body. I now weigh less than my husband…now I am aiming to weigh less than my ex..I now know that is an achievable goal! I have 3 sizes and teetering on another. I feel better and my feet and ankles have stopped swelling. Although my feet are a little swollen today of course. My sleep apnea is now almost non-existent. Too many NSV’s to clog up this thread with. I am listening to my band and paying attention to it more and more and working on listening to my head less and less when it comes to eating and hunger at least. Gosh I could go on and on. Some negatives to balance out all this nauseating sweetness. The hanging skin is downright ugly and a full body lift is in my future…no doubt. I went from a 46D to a 45A..what the hell is up with that??? I still fight head-hunger everyday…I thought that after almost after 6 months..it would get easier…the battle continues. I want to say a big THANK YOU to everybody on this board who has given me wonderful advice and suggestions since I joined this forum. Ya’ll have made the journey so much easier for me, than it would have been alone. I also want to thank my band buddy, Kira(Bridget) for all her support and advice. I saved the best for last, I also want to give a big hug and thank you to my DDH for standing by me through all of this and being my rock. Ok now on to the next big milestone!!! J Onederland rocks!!!!!

I'm not crazy about vegetables...
banded_for_life replied to cashley's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You might try some veggies you never tried before....like spaghetti squash...that is awesome with pasta sauce over it...my kids love that. buy the frozen chopped onion/green&red bell pepper and saute and stick in an egg omelet with some cheese over it...yum! -
Your band is designed to worked with fills which will eventually help you eat less and feel fuller, but it doesn't happen immediately. But yes you will feel hunger, how you respond to the hunger is what is important.

I have to be real careful with frozen dinners...healthy or otherwise...they contain alot of sodium and usually when I have one...I can always see it in the scale the next day.
