Home from hospital - my band slipped.
banded_for_life replied to Anwyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh Anne girlie...had no idea you were having issues. Glad to hear that the problem has been taken care of and you are now on your way to mending. Feel better fast! (hugggs) -
I didn't really have any period issues after surgery...but the hair falling out...I am still grappling with even 6 months past my surgery. I am taking Biotin to combat the issue and hopefully that will turn around. But not to worry the hair on my chin and neck hasn't been effected at all. Once I lose all my hair on my head I can just do a comb up and take care of it. (sarcastic wit showing here) lol. PS. Make sure you are getting enough Protein, I eat between 80 and 100 grams of protein a day.

Yea!!! Chicken Little is gone....Bucky you are next bud and then Kelli(that I am a country hick and don know nuthin is grating on my nerves for Christ sake! Somebody get that girl a dictionary! I think you need to actually hear a Patsy Cline song before you actually try to sing her songs...I didn't think Kelli did that good of a job. You want to hear some smoldering Patsy Cline...go listen to Cowboy Junkies version of Walking After Midnight....AWESOME! Madisa and Chris rock...man I could eat him up like candy!! (did I type that out loud???) I wish Paula would get off of whatever she is on...or better yet, just sit a tape recorder in her place...I agree that Simon usually tells the truth in his own blunt fashion...but what is with all the sexual references lately to Pickler??? You think he has a thing for her? :-)

Deep calming breath....breath in...breath out...breath in and breath out...now doesn't that feel better! (ducks as oncoming shoe missle) I know how frustrating the waiting can be...just hang in there!

Dr. Sewell vs ? & Protein Shakes
banded_for_life replied to tcd1101's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Tina, welcome to LBT! I was banded by Dr. Benavides in Sept. and I did attend his seminar...but I don't think that that is a requirement to see the dr. I am not sure what his self-pay scale is. He is a good doctor, but you won't see him for aftercare...The surgery center does the fills and handles all your postcare and AIGB does all the pre-testing. As far as protien...there is ALOT of info here for that. Just do a search on protein shakes and you will get a ton of results. Just one word...peanut butter....ok..well that's two. :-) best wishes. -
Congrats!!!

I was 32 when I had my daughter after 8 years of fertility failures and got preggers naturally with my son at 37. I won't say that the days aren't challenging, but I am dealing with alot more stress then just the kids...so I don't hold it against them! :-) My one tip is if you get preggers..be sure and have your progesterone levels checked the minute you find out you are preggers. That is one of the biggest reasons that bigger women miscarry in the first trimester..they don't have enough preganancy hormone to support life. Thank god I found an awesome fertility dr who was able to help us finally get my daughter.

Looking forward to it! -
Yep...just take it easy and be sure to follow your drs orders on your scale up the food chain...don't push the food too fast. Now is more about healing and getting plenty of fluids.

Kim, I know how you feel. I got below 200 and it is like I am having trouble getting back on the weightloss wagon...I am not gaining, but I am not losing either. I had such a bad weekend of binging...well...binging for a restricted bandster anyway...lol. I have even been mad at my band a time or two this weekend...how nutty is that...being mad at the one and only thing that has allowed me to lose this weight in the first place. When I got up this morning I vowed that I was not going to let another day pass working against my band. I got back in there today and had a good day. Kim, I know you can do this and get back in the game...tomorrow is a good day.

Off topic, but need support - Depression
banded_for_life replied to LilAngel's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I will be watching this thread closely....I felt like I was majorily depressed all weekend long...all i could do not to stay in bed and cry all weekend...not sure what has brought all this about. Just know you are not alone. (huugss) -
Yes, as usual Alex gave you true words of wisdom...now listen to them!!! :-) Whatever weight you loss prior to your first fill or even 2nd fill..or longer depending on what kind of band you have is a bonus. You have to watch comparing yourself to friends...everybody and I do mean everybody loses their weight differently...we are all in this journey together in a lot of ways, but for that piece of it...it is one's own journey.

I would just stay on liquids for a couple of days and see what happens. I have that burning in my throat if I eat fried chicken, but I had the same issue pre-banding...I just have to stay completely away from it. It might be that the reflux from the hotdog burned your esophogus a little and now needs some healing time.

You keep up the hard work...I know how frustrating the waiting can be. I am sure the tide will turn your way...just don't give up!
