Any Lap Doctors in SE Texas that take BC/BS?
banded_for_life replied to affy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
While I don't have an answer for you, I do wish all the best in getting this situation resolved, so you can be on the road to health. There are a lot of Texans on this board, so I am sure someone will be able to help you out. I live in the DFW metroplex and I don't know any dr directly in your area. -

Loss of restriction overnight??
banded_for_life replied to Parvathi's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Could it be the stress?? Wish I had more of an answer for you. You have come such a long way. Your daughter is fine and you are going to miss her like the dickens...but now could be a great opportunity to take some me time. Instead of being around food, go get a massage, pedicure and manicure. Do some wishful clothes shopping, go to the library and find a book you always wanted to read, anything, to occupy your mind and hands. -
Yes I am with everybody else on here...I will just need an all body overhall. But I would be happy with a TT and the Batwing thingy removal...man I hate that. Flap, flap, flap... :-)

I have the VG band and although I don't really feel any restriction, I am sure Dr. B made the best decision for me. Now that being said, I have had one fill on 10/24 I am getting my second fill on 11/22. I had nothing to begin with in my band and I got 3.6 the first time. Occasionally I feel a little tightness, but never any restriction.

Welcome to LBT Deena! -
Elizabeth, I can't really add to anything that Alex hasn't already said. I do hope that you get to feeling better and that your band starts cooperating! (huggs)

I agree with what has already been said. Feburary will be here before you know it! -
Ouch!! Kathy sorry to hear that you are going through so much right now and I do hope it all works out for you and your band.

I got a antacid/gas combo liquid. I think it was by Maloxx or somebody, but it covered both. Luckily I was one of the ones that didn't even need it.

Nov 4th..I did it! but why the liquid/pureed/soft food diet afterwards?
banded_for_life replied to mkfenn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yep, La madam said it all. Just know it won't last. That is the exact routine I had to follow as well. You think it is never going to end and then one day you are on solids and you are going to wonder where the time went...ok...not really...you are going to be starving some days...but you get through it to make sure you band is safe and secure. -
Just take it easy and take the time you need. I had my gall bladder out back in 97 and then a week after my surgery ended up back in the hospital with a staff infection...not fun.

Sounds like you are doing just fine! If you are losing weight you are losing fat around that liver. Best of luck!

Best of luck!!

You want to shrink your liver as much as you can prior to surgery and the liquid high protien diet accomplishes this. I had to be on it two weeks prior to my surgery. It is a toughy, but totally doable with the results that come after. Best of luck.

Menstrual cycle concerns after banding.
banded_for_life replied to rpaniagua77's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I feel tight during my period and that makes me watch what I am eating a bit more closely. -
Did you cook for your family when you were on the liquid phase???Very picky eaters.
banded_for_life replied to ladysplenda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
LOL...Paula...ok, he is not quite that bad, he can open a mean can of spagettios and franks or heat up a frozen dinner like nobody's business. He really has been super supportive througout this entire thing...I shouldn't bust his chops over this. -

I cooked for my family as well, I didn't want my husband to poison himself or the kids. I won't say it was easy, because it sure as hell wasn't, but I did it. I actually had to go to our bedroom and watch tv to get away from the spagetti I had made one night. -
I didn't remember ever having to deal with any depression in relation to my surgery. It has been a great experience overall. I didn't even have the bad gas pains that crops up most of the time.

PS, If there is anybody that can help me get this photos side by side I would appreciate it. This was the best that I could do. Thanks! -
