Poll: how long did it take?
banded_for_life replied to sleepyjean's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Keep in mind that I had worked on trying to get the band 3 years ago, but lost my insurance, due to a layoff...so I always knew what I wanted. 1. get referral --> surgery consult: Went to seminar for Dr. Benavides on July 16th, first consulation on July 27th. 2. surgery consult --> surgery scheduled: Went through stress test and sleep test on July 29th, went to Physc. Exam on Aug 2nd, sent to Insurance on Aug. 12th and was approved on Aug. 24th. 3. surgery scheduled --> the actual operation: My surgery was scheduled for Sept. 23rd and I had a preop with Dr. B on Sept. 21. 4. operation --> leaving the hospital: Operated on Sept 21 at 8:30 and left there by 1:30. 5. left hospital --> first fill: My first fill was 4 weeks later on Oct. 24th and I had one in Nov and one in Dec. Am going to wait until Feb. before I think about another one. I want to wait until the holidays are well and truly over to give this last fill a chance. -
What a lil cutie pie!!! Congratulations!

Everybody is going to lose at different rates. Try logging everything you eat, just to see if you calories may be on the high side. Are you getting your protein and water in? Have you added exercise to your day? The holidays are very hard...do not give up hope. You may want to consider going to a nutritionist and see if they can't come up with a plan customized just for you.

I know there are some on the board that have. I never gave Optifast a try...I was busy trying every other thing on the market. What the heck is a gastric balloon...never heard of that. Best of luck on the Optifast..

Yes, one thing is get those protien shakes down her. GNC, makes a knockout 100% Whey protien in chocolate carmel. I take that and mix it with low carb milk and then put in a teaspoon of banana or chocolate sugarfree and fatfree instant dry pudding mix. I also might put a tablespoon of natural peanut butter...all very yummy. -
They are such cuties!

Rabbits and Turtles United New Year Challenge
banded_for_life replied to It's me-Debbydo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am in!! I agree with one NSV, but the March time length is ok with me. I like having that little bit of accountability every week. I probably won't make my goal of the end of the year challenge, but with the new year I am sure I will meet whatever goal I set for myself for this challenge. -
Possible Clothing Swap for Texas LBTs...
banded_for_life replied to banded_for_life's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Some highlights of the clothes that I am interested in getting rid of: A red satin slinky nightgown with matching rose robe in size 26-28. A light pink sweater with pearl button with matching pink tank size 24. A blue jean bustie with black lace...never been worn, size 24 or 26. A 2 piece party dress, never been worn in size 24, dark blue with sparkles on the jacket. Jeans sizes 26 thru 24, in different colors. Several pieces of nice clothing that can be worn as work attire. -
Humbug- Ungrateful giftgetters worst gifts ever
banded_for_life replied to Poodles's topic in The Lounge
My ex MIL wrapped up a gaudy ugly yellow flower pot that she had evidently picked up at a garage sale...how do I know it was a garage sale item...she never bothered to remove the 5 cent price tag stuck to the side. To be fair to her though...every once in awhile she did manage to give me a few nice gifts throughout the years of my marriage. -

Road Queen, that is about I average a day is about a hundred a day. I try to keep my carbs at 30% of whatever my protien intake is. -

Paula, I am in SW Mesquite, close to the Kaufman County Line, you can easily get to my house right off of 20. Take the Lawson Rd Exit and head North and you are about 2 miles away from my house. -
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all from the Murphys!!!

DFW Bansters Clothing Swap
banded_for_life replied to banded_for_life's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I need to get rid of my 24s and 22s and start getting more 18s. You know though, if there was enough interest, I would be willing to host a clothing swap at my house for Texas LBT members. (after the new year of course!) What do ya'll think about that? -
