I know I have heard about stalling with weight loss after surgery. I lost 13 lbs before surgery and a total of 30 lbs since surgery which was Dec. 22. I have not only stalled for the past 2 weeks, I have also gained almost a pound - really?? How can you gain weight when you can hardly eat anything? I eat all of my Protein plus, keep it low carb, low fat and low sugar. I can not even eat 1,000 cal - which is hard for me learning you are suppose to eat 1200 calories a day. Like most there are days I find it hard to get 64 ounces of liquids an others I surpass what they require. I do not get as much exercise as I would like but working 10+ hrs a day, have tons of snow and frigid temps and not able to afford a gym makes it a bit difficult. I would not say the surgery was the wrong choice becz I already feel better. Not being able to eat what you want, feeling sick with things you loved, gaining weight etc... I guess I am starting to feel sorry for myself. Maybe I would have been ok with the stall if I did not gain weight for no reason but I am now getting very frustrated and upset. Please tell me this will be over soon. ????

Who esle Stalls around that time of the month?
fuzzyangelbear replied to Queen P's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The day I came home from surgery I started and gained 3 lbs after surgery. I was told attention hat point it was water gain becz of all the IV fluids. I lost a total of 30 lbs and stalled again 4 weeks after surgery and yes, it was that time of the month. My room mate tried to say it was water gain again becz I had gained a pound, of course I was not buying it. I stalled for just a bit over 2 weeks and back to loosing. I am not sure if it is related to that time of the month or just perfect timing. -
I started mine the day I can home from the hospital! Merry Christmas and happy weight loss it said lol

Thank you everyone, just had to rant because I was getting so frustrated! On a good note - I think the stall is over, for now that is! -
What is the downside?
fuzzyangelbear replied to theskinnyone's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I like a few in here had a pretty easy recovery. Very nauseated the first few hours after surgery but no gas pains, no vomiting, was off pain meds the day I left the hospital. One thing that I was never told is take chap stick!!! My mouth was so dry and horrible after surgery that chap stick was my life saver until I could drink. -
How long did your STALL last?
fuzzyangelbear replied to JaneJaneDoe's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have not yet had a stall, but I'm sure it's coming. My surgery date was Dec.22 and I am hearing some of those people stalling already. I was told to make sure to drink the liquids, exercise and take measurements becz it will not always come off in weight we see. -
Someone had made comments about a non flavored protein powder that is 30 grams of protein in only 1 tablespoon. This either came from Amazon or eBay- does anyone know what the name of it is?

Gaining weight after surgery- really?
fuzzyangelbear posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes, leave it to me. I loose 11 lbs on the pre surgery diet. Go in the hospital weighing 301.2 and come home and the next morning I weigh 304.0 - how in the world is that humanly possible. Talk about making someone feel down ???? -

I have found with the protein shakes that the best I have had so far is Unjury chicken and unflavored in sugar free koolaid. I am doing great at meetings protein and liquid which I was amazed. Had liquified mashed potatoes and squash for Christmas dinner. -

@@tomi71 I just posted this. My surgery date was Dec 22. Imagine the surprise when my fiancé had told me my weight when they measured in the hospital bed, I thought he was kidding. Low and behold I had gained when I checked when I got home and then thought I was dreaming so checked again this morning. I was so disappointed. -

@@MyssJones I am sorry to hear you had a difficult time. Thank heavens I have not vomited. I really thought I was going to in post op as well as when taking the leak test but dodged them both. Now home and going to try and get in all my liquids and protein, this may be difficult since I am not hungry and really forget about eating or drinking. -

@micampbell24 I was very nauseated in post op but subsided after I got to my room. Have done a few walks and really only ache where the biggest incision is. -

Just started Liquid Diet before surgery
fuzzyangelbear replied to Zentastic's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was able to eat things like sugar free jello, sugar free pudding, fat free yogurt and even non starchy green and white veggies. The veggies were a life saver!!! My surgery is tomorrow so I am going to try and stay on strictly liquids - not thinking it's going to be easy. Have set to drink 5 protein shakes to get my protein and have broth, sugar free koolaid as well as tomatoe and v8 juice handy. -

The BIG day comes tomorrow, I am so scared and nervous. I hear good stories and then I hear the bad stories and I have not hardly slept in 2 nights ???? I can see today at work will probably crawl and tonight will probably be sleepless. I am all packed and ready to go, no backing out at this point and I don't think my fiancé would let my fear get the best of me anyway - he is amazing support. -
