  1. The day I came home from surgery I started and gained 3 lbs after surgery. I was told attention hat point it was water gain becz of all the IV fluids. I lost a total of 30 lbs and stalled again 4 weeks after surgery and yes, it was that time of the month. My room mate tried to say it was water gain again becz I had gained a pound, of course I was not buying it. I stalled for just a bit over 2 weeks and back to loosing. I am not sure if it is related to that time of the month or just perfect timing.

    Weight stall rant....

Thank you everyone, just had to rant because I was getting so frustrated! On a good note - I think the stall is over, for now that is!
  4. I know I have heard about stalling with weight loss after surgery. I lost 13 lbs before surgery and a total of 30 lbs since surgery which was Dec. 22. I have not only stalled for the past 2 weeks, I have also gained almost a pound - really?? How can you gain weight when you can hardly eat anything? I eat all of my Protein plus, keep it low carb, low fat and low sugar. I can not even eat 1,000 cal - which is hard for me learning you are suppose to eat 1200 calories a day. Like most there are days I find it hard to get 64 ounces of liquids an others I surpass what they require. I do not get as much exercise as I would like but working 10+ hrs a day, have tons of snow and frigid temps and not able to afford a gym makes it a bit difficult. I would not say the surgery was the wrong choice becz I already feel better. Not being able to eat what you want, feeling sick with things you loved, gaining weight etc... I guess I am starting to feel sorry for myself. Maybe I would have been ok with the stall if I did not gain weight for no reason but I am now getting very frustrated and upset. Please tell me this will be over soon. ????

    What is the downside?

I like a few in here had a pretty easy recovery. Very nauseated the first few hours after surgery but no gas pains, no vomiting, was off pain meds the day I left the hospital. One thing that I was never told is take chap stick!!! My mouth was so dry and horrible after surgery that chap stick was my life saver until I could drink.

How long did your STALL last?

I have not yet had a stall, but I'm sure it's coming. My surgery date was Dec.22 and I am hearing some of those people stalling already. I was told to make sure to drink the liquids, exercise and take measurements becz it will not always come off in weight we see.

    Non flavored protein powder

I like the idea of putting non flavored in things like coffee, mashed potatoes etc. the injury has a horrible taste - ick!

    Non flavored protein powder

Yes, genepro is the one!!! I am going to have someone look at it for me.
  9. Someone had made comments about a non flavored protein powder that is 30 grams of protein in only 1 tablespoon. This either came from Amazon or eBay- does anyone know what the name of it is?

    Any December Sleevers

I have found with the protein shakes that the best I have had so far is Unjury chicken and unflavored in sugar free koolaid. I am doing great at meetings protein and liquid which I was amazed. Had liquified mashed potatoes and squash for Christmas dinner.

    Gaining weight after surgery- really?

@@tomi71 I just posted this. My surgery date was Dec 22. Imagine the surprise when my fiancé had told me my weight when they measured in the hospital bed, I thought he was kidding. Low and behold I had gained when I checked when I got home and then thought I was dreaming so checked again this morning. I was so disappointed.
  15. Yes, leave it to me. I loose 11 lbs on the pre surgery diet. Go in the hospital weighing 301.2 and come home and the next morning I weigh 304.0 - how in the world is that humanly possible. Talk about making someone feel down ????
