Thank you for all the input!! I am down to one (large) mug of coffee per day!! I decided to go cold turkey from all caffeine except my morning mug, it was rough but excedrin migraine worked like a miracle! Yesterday I didn't use excedrin migraine I just took one extra strength Tylenol and was good! I'll whittle down my morning mug to half decaf some time next month, maybe after the holidays, and be on decaf by my 1/5 pre-op diet start date! Thanks for the encouragement everyone!!

PREGNANT AND ONLY 1 MONTH POST OP!
MamaTo3inNH replied to Sensarah's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow. My surgeon makes females who can still get pregnant sign a waiver saying they cannot safely carry a baby until 24 months post surgery, and if they do become pregnant before that timeframe he is not liable for any issues that may arise. I hope you have a healthy pregnancy, but be prepared for the worst. -
When I got off the phone with the scheduler I panicked. But it's ok, we need this!! It's the absolute right thing to do

I'm in Manchester NH. -
Hi everyone! I'm new to the forums here, I've been lurking for a few months reading everyone's stories and ups and downs. I'll definitely post my story in the introduction section, but for right now I have a question. How did you prepare for your surgery? Not talking about the pre-op diet, more like did you take pictures in a certain outfit or buck naked or anything of that nature? How did you prepare your house/bedroom/where you'd be spending your few days recouping when you're on pain meds still? I've got 3 kids, 3 8 and 12, and hubby will be home with me for a few days, so I'm not absolutely stressed about minding the kids, more about taking care of me! Thanks! ~tara

I started going to monthly meetings June 2013, my program only requires 3 monthly meetings along with all the paperwork and various tests. I dragged my feet. Do I want to do this, do I not? Fast forward to March 2014, I went to 6 meetings in a row, got my psych eval and all paperwork done handed that all in in august, got approved by the surgeon team, then got my appts for my upper gi and gall bladder ultrasound, nutritionist appoinent, nurse team visit and finally surgeon meet on November 13 2014. Got a call Monday with my date - January 19th 2015. So almost two years from my first thinking about it to getting it done. In reality, a year from psych eval (first appt I had to make on my own to accompany my paperwork) to surgery

I'm making it my mission to try and find a yummy decaf! I love the flavor. My thing is the caffeine pick me up - I really *do* need it now. But hopefully post surgery my energy will be through the roof and I can never look back at my coffee!

Refrained beans?!

Sounds yummy!!! -
I see refried beans come up in a lot of posts about good foods to eat. Are we talking the yellow can of refried beans found in the Mexican food aisle at the store alongside the tacos?
-
I will! I love coconut stuff, but have never tried coconut Water before. My husband has been considering getting a soda stream, and they have a tonic water mix. I could make it with light bubbles or no bubbles, if he does end up getting it.
-
And I LOVE peppermint tea!!!
-
OMG you poor dear!!!! I cannot even begin to imagine your pain I never tried coconut Water. I will get some for my next flare up.
-
Funny you mention facial shingles (not haha funny...) I just saw an ad for shingles vaccine today and tge lady they showed had facial shingles. I never knew you could get it there - I always thought it was on the body. Hubby had it, and was in excruciating pain. His was on his side though, I can't imagine having it on the face

Something about the quinine in it, I'm not sure how it works. And it works for some but not others. Google it! It's a miracle for me. I keep a few 1 liter bottles on hand and when in having an attack I sip it throughout the day and nite. I have RLS for 5-10 days then it gues away for a few months. Also eating a banana before bed helps

Yeah yeah I know. I need to find a decaf I like.

I am on the app and can't really see your profile? Where is your blog link? Thanks -
I drink tonic water on the regular for my restless leg syndrome. I guess I will have to start drinking it flat. How do you flatten out a bubbly drink?
