Oh and I don't have another egd scheduled yet just waiting to hear results from biopsies. The thing is during my last egd he was sure I had the h pylori and this time he couldn't tell, just told me my stomach still looked red and irritated.

@@ga_kathy it took only 3 business days to be approved by insurance. We submitted on Friday nov 14 and I called them yesterday and they told me I had been approved on Wednesday nov 19. Thanks for your prayers they are so appreciated!

@@blackonynx if you decide to give them a try, just keep track of any side effects you think you might be having and discuss them with your doctor. You just have to weigh the pros and cons but ultimately you've got to do what's best for you

    December 2014 Surgery

@@leemcel I don't have a date yet but I was approved by Cigna this week I have to wait until Dec 1st to hear back from my Dr about h pylori bacteria in my stomach. If I still have it I will have to do another round of antibiotics and won't get my surgery this year. The important thing is to get rid of that so I don't have any complications. If it comes back clear, I'll be able to get my December date. Just have to wait and see, and pray for good news!

Yay! Hope it all works out, looks like you'll be good for December Dr found the H. Pylori bacteria in my stomach during my first EGD and I went on the antibiotics for 2 weeks. I just had my repeat EGD this morning and he said my stomach still looks pretty red. He took some biopsies but I guess it's not looking good for me, I might have to try stronger antibiotics. I'm praying for good news but the important part is that I get rid of this before I have my surgery, so if I have to wait until next year I'll be ok with it.

  18. @@coastalchick First, congratulations on your December surgery! And thanks so much for the information on blood clots. I don't know why I am so scared about getting one, but it is a big fear and I will listen to all of your advice. Is there anything I can do now, other than my normal cardio exercises, to prevent blood clot? Massaging my legs or using Epsom salts? I am so excited for my surgery and can't wait to start my new life! I feel like I'm getting a second chance at life and I love reading everyone else's stories and experiences.

@@DuchessD Oh ok, I live about 20-25 mins north of Sebastian. I used to live in Clearwater, FL for many years so I know exactly where spring hill is. It's so true, I am worried about the little things for surgery. Like, not being able to shower...am I going to be wearing underwear and I am terrified of a catheter! Lol maybe I am thinking about the little things so I'm not as focused on them re-arranging my insides. I do hope I sleep with the pain meds, I've been on them before for a shoulder injury and they made me feel really strange and like I was tired but not able to fall asleep. Almost like hallucination! But, I'll sleep when I'm at home in the very least so I shouldn't be too worried about it. Lots of luck DuchessD!!!

    Want to change surgeon

@@ga_kathy I am having the gastric bypass, submitted to insurance last Friday so I'm waiting on approval. They said I should have an answer in 5-7 business days. I'm getting really anxious because I've never had any type surgery before and I just have no idea what to expect! I've never stayed at a hospital and I'm wondering if I'm going to be able to sleep at all. I'm such a light sleeper and pretty much any noise wakes me up. Anyone have suggestions for sleeping in the hospital? Maybe earplugs and or headphones?

    Should I or Not?

I went to one of those medically supervised weight loss doctors and that's when they started me on those pills. I ended up losing a lot of weight, probably 60 lbs and I was lighter back then when I started than I am now. I wish I would have spent my time back then trying to get my RNY instead. As soon as I stopped the pills the weight came back on, plus another 30 lbs. I've gone up and down the same 20-30 lbs since then but with no success of keeping it off. I had some bad side effects with my stomach from the actual diet pills and developed an allergy to splenda along the way, I was consuming it daily back when I was seeing the "doctor". Funny enough, I never even met that doctor whose care I was under. Things I wish I could tell my younger self: don't fall for these fad diets and don't trust a doctor you haven't met!
  24. Congratulations to all of you getting your December surgery dates!!! I'm just wondering, how do you know if you are developing a blood clot? I'm scared about developing one and not even realizing it's happening. Are there warning signs? I feel for all of you who have been through it and pray you will all make it through smooth sailing.
