  1. I had mcdonalds chicken noodle Soup (very tasty) and had a few pieces of chicken that was in the soup. I could only take about 3-4 bites and a little broth. I didn't have any issues. That was why I was wondering when we could eat baked chicken. I'm finding out that I have to try different things to see if I can tolerate it. I was surprised that I did not tolerate mashed potatoes well.
  2. Can anyone tell me the approx. week out of surgery that you were able to eat baked chicken (not blended)?
  3. I should first start out that my husband is and has been extremely supportive through all of this. However, this morning I wake up to oreo Cookies (one of my favorites) on the kitchen counter. I started to get annoyed and think what the heck is up with that!! Thank goodness he is still sleeping because after I thought about it, he has never had a problem to stop eating when he is full, He can easily "pass up" food without a problem. After realizing this, I know he didn't intentionally leave the oreos out on the counter. He simply just doesn't have the food issues that I have so it's not the first thing on his mind. I will, however, remind him when he wakes up that it's just plain not helpful:-))))
  4. I am 10 days out. It took me eight months and many doctors appts. before I had the surgery, so I definitely didn't take it lightly. I can honestly say I felt the same way the first 4-5 days I was seriously regretted my decision. The first 2 days after the surgery were horrible. I think I had a bad reaction to the anesthesia or the meds. I've only been able to get alittle over 30 grams of Protein in so far. About 4 days ago, I was able to take all my Vitamins without feeling sick. I'm happy to tell you that I am feeling very lucky and grateful that I had the surgery. I know it will change my life for the better. I'm feeling better and stronger each day that goes by. Hang in there, try to keep yourself busy so the days will go faster. My doctor prescribed me a nausea med which was very helpful:-)

I did have have the sleeve. I don't think I recovered as well as most that first day but I insisted on going home on day 2. My instruction were to empty and measure it everyday; in which I've been doing. I also have cleaned/sterolized and changed the entry site several times, I go to the Doctor tomorrow so I will find out for sure then. I guess I've been a little concerned cuz I'm still draining 30cc's a day. Thanks everyone. I sure wish I knew about his site months ago. If anyone would like to be friends, I would love that. Not sure how to "friend" someone yet. Thanks again

That's absurd. Please let us know who you're doctor is so we can make sure we never refer him/her. At least you have this forum and can try some of the ideas that were mentioned. That's why I joined because I'm feeling like I need to get other opinions. I will say that I absolutely love my doctor. The program I went through was extremely time consuming but I know it was in my best interest. However, the doctor and bariatric nurse never had the surgery themselves.

So sorry about the nausea. It was so bad for me as well. The only thing that has helped is the 10mg of metoclopramide that my doctor prescribed me. I know the nausea was worse than the pain. I wasn't expecting that either.

Did you have bloodwork? I had blood work about 5 months ago and they put me on vit d, Iron, and a multi-vit back then. I did began having much more energy after about 6-8 weeks of taking them. Of course, this was prior to the surgery.

Hello, I had surgery a week ago as well. I'm very exhausted after the smallest of tasks. I have been mixing 2 oz of skim milk and Protein drink and trying to drink it every 2 hours (except while I'm sleeping). I also sip on ice Water throughout the day. Every time I try to add something else, such as sugar free popsicle, pudding, applesauce, broth, ect., I get a horrible stomach ache as soon as I swallow the food. That being said, I have been able to control the nausea quite well. My doctor prescribed me 10 mg of metoclopramide hcl. Its the best holiday present ever....lol
