    I am really pushing it.

I was in the same situation as mnmlst. I had help for the first 2 weeks then I was on my own with my 11 month old daughter. My husband is military and went on a field op for 2 weeks. You just have to be very cognizant of finding alternatives to not lifting. We put my daugther's crib mattress in on the floor next to our bed so I wouldn't have to lift her in and out of the crib. I fed her sitting on the floor so I didn't have to use the high chair. I held her hands while she climbed up and down the stairs. Anything I could do to not lift her. That said, there were times I had to lift her and I did pay the price. I was sore and in pain on those days I did too much. Thankfully nothing more serious. Just take your time and use your legs if you have to lift, but avoid it as much as you can. Good luck!!
  2. I was sleeved on November 13th and so far everything has been pretty good. The one issue I'm having is I don't feel like I'm doing a very good job with my diet. The directions the nutritionist gave me to follow are kind of vague and don't really help me plan my day well, so most times I feel like I'm winging it. She is is also very hard to get in touch with. In fact we've only spoken twice and that was before my surgery. I don't even remember her name. Long story short - I'm not a fan. Does anyone have a good nut that they work with in the San Diego/south Orange county area? I'd also be willing to work with someone who is out of my area/state if they we're really great and passionate about what they do. Any help is MUCH appreciated. Thanks!!
  3. I agree with Kathy812. I'm 3 weeks out and I think I recovered pretty well, but 8 days out I was in no condition to host and cook a large dinner party. Lifting things and bending were the biggest issues. If there are things you can prep prior to surgery definitely do that and enlist help. You just had surgery, this is the time to be pampered a little!! Best of luck!!
