    Dating after Weight Loss Surgery

I agree that every culture that is greatly influenced by western culture does prefer slimmer women. Pornography, movies and marketing advertises sexy and beautiful as very slim women. I also believe that the first thing people notice is how they feel when they are around you. I tend to make people feel relaxed and even admired because I genuinely love meeting people. I think that inward beauty can be seen and felt. Most of all, the confidence that I feel is from within. I believe that I am a beautiful woman inside and out because God made me that way. I used to feel ugly and unattractive but after all I've been through in my life, I feel very accomplished and loved. Also, my dad helped me so much. I think that maybe you should try to find the beauty inside yourself and share it with others. You should stop seeing yourself as overweight or unattractive and realize that while man looks on the outward appearance, God looks on the heart and that's what is the most beautiful thing about each person, what's inside, not what's outside.

    Dating after Weight Loss Surgery

Not all men are the way you describe. I have mostly dated men from other countries or racial backgrounds than mine because every other country or race in the world, except the typical white american or European men, like their women softer
  3. Help! I had appt. 3 of 4 yesterday and was reminded I have to lose some weight before surgery because Aetna requires it and it's not a lot of weight but so far I've gained 2 lbs instead! I keep indulging with foods I love and thinking to myself "you won't be able to eat this after surgery" I know this is the time for me to start to make life saving changes but I've always been secretly rebellious against losing weight!!! Yep I'm crazy, just a little!

    Dating after Weight Loss Surgery

Marysminute! Lol that's true online or in person! There are lots of men just looking for sex, but there are also lots of men who are tired of dating and want to settle down. Typically, until a man is closer to 30, they are still in their "wild oats" stage. Also. If you let them know you are not opposed to sex altogether, just not open to sex until marriage or when in a loving committed relationship, they should relax a little. There are a lot of women who have either sexual abuse or self conscious issues with their bodies, which prevent them from ever enjoying sex. Since sex is really a big deal to men, they seem to try to weed out the ones who won't ever want sex. On the other hand, when it comes to men, let them chase you more than you chase them because your value will go up tremendously. If you make them wait for sex at least a good 90 days, they will have invested enough in the relationship that they will not want to give you up!

What I've found works well as far as online dating is having a great face pic with a big smile! Guys like girls who are happy and confident, no matter what size you are!

    Dating after Weight Loss Surgery

I have been online dating since my divorce 2 years ago and currently dating the sweetest man ever, we met on Christian Mingle. I'm planning on surgery June-July 2014 and he has said he's supportive either way. I actually kinda worry that he may not like me thinner cause he likes me so much now. But I'm not worried enough to stop planning my surgery! Lol

Four Days Post OP and Banded

This sounds so great! I'm currently going through the process to get approved through my insurance and will most likely have the surgery in July or August. I'm having a hard time thinking about anything else, including my job which is where my insurance comes from so I looked online for motivation and you gave me a boost! Can you tell me why you chose the band? I'm leaning towards the band but so many people have told me the sleeve is better and preferred over the band lately...
  10. Have been wanting a lapband since 2007, and just now found out I have a BMI and insurance that should get me my surgery by this summer covered at 100% When I went in they said that I could also get a test done to see if I have a hiatal hernia (most obese people do)and if I go the route to get that repaired, I can pay $2100 and get the lapband and the hernia repaired at the same time within 30 days! I'm kinda worried I'll lose my job before I get the surgery probably unnecessarily, and probably cause I want the surgery so bad. Does anybody have any thoughts or suggestions for me??

Finally gonna get a lapband or sleeve

Thank you for your insights, you both have good points. I am thinking about getting the sleeve, but they also told me they do something where they fold your stomach into itself when they do the band, anybody heard of this?

Finally gonna get a lapband or sleeve

Is the sleeve the one where they staple off a section of your stomach? Cause they showed two types of surgery the lapband and one with staples.

Finally gonna get a lapband or sleeve

Well I'm afraid of the sleeve because there are a lot more complications with that and I like that the band is reversible. My BMI is 41 and I am 38. I'm hoping the band will help me get off about 50 or more pounds and still allow me to eat, but force me to eat slow and not overeat! My dad died at age 65 and weighed about 500lbs and I watched him lose over 100lbs probably 3 times and eventually gain it all back and more. His death has been my motivation to not try yo yo dieting, but search for a different type of solution.

Finally gonna get a lapband or sleeve

Thank you so much! I am glad somebody understands, I'm gonna try to just relax

Finally gonna get a lapband or sleeve

No the hiatal hernia is covered and the lapband would be considered elective, unless I chose to wait the 90 day period and do all the other insurance requirements. The industry I am in is being affected a lot by internet sales and my sales territory #'s were down last month. I am just wondering if I should jump on the chance to have it done ASAP for $2100 if I have a hiatal hernia that needs repair. The advisor told me this was often the case that people have a hiatal hernia when they are obese. Or if I should just be patient and hope for the best! I am so worried only because I have been wanting this surgery for so long and now it seems to be happening that I guess I am just worried it won't happen :-/

Mexico versus US for cash patients

Did you go to Mexico partly because you couldn't qualify? I am concerned that I may not qualify because Cigna and other insurances are very difficult to get approval from. Mexico is my next stop if insurance doesn't work. I am determined to have this done ASAP

Mexico versus US for cash patients

I am waiting to see if my insurance will approve me next year, and if not I have been talking with the same doctor through email

    Hi from CT--Cigna comments?

HI, I am not very familiar with how to use this website so I decided to start posting here. I also have CIGNA PPO and recently found out my insurance will cover lap band in 2008. I don't know how hard it is to get approved, I don't know of any co morb and I weigh about 210 and am 5 feet 1. my bmi is very close to 40 or it may be exactly 40.... I have been around this size for over 4 years I have three kids. The biggest reason I want the lap band is because my dad died from being morbidly obese weighed over 500 lbs at 65 years old and I don't want to end up that big and immobile as he was the last 10 years of life. As far as I can find, family history (my dad is only one fam member, I have several more) doesn't count for much, does it?:help:
