    November 18th anyone?

@@stantog, glad to hear you're doing great. I have never been able to drink water without gagging on it. This is why I'm so happy Crystal Light is allowed. Originally, I wanted to get the band. I was checking into it online when I read about the sleeve. So I made an appointment for a seminar that my local hospital was having regarding wls. Found out this particular doctor is trying to get away from doing the band. Heard several unfortunate stories involving it. I've noticed a lot of people who have had the band are now getting the sleeve. Hope all continues well with you now. Sounds like you're on the right road to greatness.

    November 18th anyone?

That's great in 4 weeks. I'm on several weeks of full liquid diet which is s/f jello and pudding and popsicles, water and crystal light, broth, Dannon light and fit Greek vanilla yogurt, and s/f sorbet and cream soup. I just started that phase on November 25 and it'll go for 5 weeks. I'll have 1 week puree starting 30th. 1 week soft starting 6th. Like you I have to have 80-90 grams protein daily with 64 oz water or Crystal light. I look forward to scrambled eggs again but I honestly know that I couldn't handle them right now. Enjoy eating the meat when you get to have it.

    November 18th anyone?

We had to take classes to prepare us for everything they could think of. This doctor's staff is freakin wonderful. Each person has a specific job and importance yet they all work hand in hand with another. Anyway, in one of the classes they warned us of drinking too fast and the "dumping" syndrome. I was very prepared for not drinking too quickly until 1 day while still in the hospital still I was writing down my ounces I was drinking. Someone came in and I got a little distracted. I had just drank an ounce for that 15 mins but didn't write it down so I took another drink not realizing. I swear it felt like I was about to give birth to a full grown elephant. THAT never happened again. Lol. Thank goodness I haven't experienced the dumping syndrome but I think that's more real with the solid foods.

    November 18th anyone?

@@mab1981, I am extremely sorry that I stated that so incorrectly and mislead you. I tend to be in my own conversation in my head and forget where I was typing. I lost 35 from the 2 weeks prior and 1 week post op.

    November 18th anyone?

My surgery plan pre and post are so different from everyone else's. I had to be on liquid diet 2 weeks pre surgical. Then, I week liquid post. Now, 5 weeks full liquid which means I can add pudding and my protein shakes and cream soups and vitamins. Followed by 1 week puree and 1 week soft. I was sleeved on November 18. Figure I can eat just after New Year's. Mandatory 4 day hosp stay. No staples or stitches; just steri-strips. Only used pain meds once. Walked hours after surgery and haven't stopped yet. Down 35lbs at week 1 POST-OP check up. Still working on increasing my fluid intake to normal and my protein intake to normal. Almost there.

    November 18th anyone?

My surgery was on the 18th. Had 2 weeks of their meal replacements which were all liquid and not bad tasting. Surgery went great. My doc always does his surgery on a Tuesday and you are not getting out until Friday if all goes well. They had me up walking not long after surgery. I felt fine. I had a morphine pump for pain. Used it once that night and found out I cannot have morphine. They gave me a shot of Tordol to ease the pain of being sick from morphine. I never used pain meds again. I just kept walking like they said. Think the toughest part was having to wait until Wednesday afternoon for something to sip on. By the time I left Friday, I had already been doing a lot of walking, my fluid intake was up, I had had a shower, and no pain meds in my system. I feel great. Had my 1 week post op check up and I had already lost 35lbs. I'm still not lifting anything over the weight of a gallon of milk which is 8lbs. Still on full liquid diet for another 4 weeks. That part is hard which is trying to get liquid intake counts up with adequate protein for the day but I WILL do it.

    November 18th anyone?

Good luck to everyone who is having their surgery in a few hours. Mine is Tuesday the 18th. My excited. Nervous. Anxious. Ready! Really started liking my replacement meals. Been on them for 14 days. I've also been "nesting" ever since I got the surgery date. Had to put up Christmas tree tonight but everyone knows not to turn it on until the day after Thanksgiving. That's our tradition.

pre-op visit tomorrow! why is it set for 2 hours?

Had my pre-op appt today. It was scheduled for 2 hours but was over in an hour. It was with the nurse. When this all started, I started with a seminar just to hear what was what. I had labs done. Xrays. EKG. Lung test. Lymphedema treatments (those continue). Meetings with dietician and exercise therapist and surgeon. Two 2-hour long educational classes-very informative. Today's appt was with the nurse for a refresher on majority of things that were covered in the classes with a few new things. They were just making sure the patient isn't bombarded all at once or blindsided. Love my doc and his whole staff. So, I've been on the liquid diet solid for 1 week with 1 week left. Then, it's surgery on the 18th at 7:30 am. I am the first case. WOO HOO!

pre-op visit tomorrow! why is it set for 2 hours?

Thank you so much. I've been on my liquid diet for a week tomorrow. My surgery is set for a week from tomorrow on November 18. Hope I don't have to do all of that also but I'll do it if it's required. Lol. I already had my surgery postponed a few weeks due to my thyroid level being low. That's in the clear, now.
