What does everyone do for a living?

  2. Jen, I know the predicament you feel, because I was havign excellent weightloss and then suddenly started throwing up a LOT! I was eating just a few bites twice a day and still throwing up. After a week, I knew it was something that couldn't be normal. It was the day I couldn't keep down liquids that I called. He saw me right away. The verdict was that I had slippage of my band, and it corrected itself with an unfill. It's been two weeks now and I can't beleive I waited so long to get relief. Jen, remember you have your whole life to lose weight - so take care of yourself int he mean time. Quick weight loss is not the best. The security you get with the band is that you know it can help you lose. Just make sure you aren't doing damage. If you let a slip go too long, you can do some serious damage that could require you to have surgery and have it removed. YOu would need to wait another 6 months for healing before you could consider having it put back on. So go to the doctor. He may go ahead and give you a slight unfill or he may send you to get an upper GI (simply an xray) to see if there is blockage. I wish you the best of luck, and keep us all posted! Slippage - Need Feedback

Hi Dr. Pleatman What are the symptoms of slippage? I mean, how do you know if you have slippage? I had some vomitting a few weeks ago (flu or something) and have felt nausea ever since. I can't eat as much, but still eat fine. Drinking is sometimes a problem, and sometimes not. It could be I still have a bug, it could mean I need another unfill or could it be slippage? THanks, Daniela
  4. Hi Terry, I don't know what you are referring to when you say "double fill". I haven't heard that term before. Can you explain?
  5. I have attached a list that was given to me after I had my surgery in Mexico. It's a list of doctors in the US who will do fills for Mexico banded patients. It's not an all inclusive list, meaning it does not list every doctor that does fills - only the ones that patients have reported they go to and like. The list includes the state, city, street addresss, phone number, cost and some misc information. If anyone is interested in it, take a look. For those in Michign (my home state) looking for a fill doc, you will notice this list does not have anyone listed in our state. I go to Dr. Pleatman and he is excellent! daniela.gula@pfizer.com Daniela 217/188/132 fill docs.doc
  6. Hi Everyone, My name is Daniela and I was banded by Dr. Kuri on July 23. I am down 15 pounds now! I am wondering two things: Anyone else out there banded by Dr. Kuri? Also, I am looking for a fill doctor in Michigan. Does anyone know someone in Ann Arbor or Detroit area who will do fills for patients banded in Mexico? Thanks so much! Feel free to respond to this posting or email me at daniela.gula@pfizer.com
  7. I have a name for oyu - Wendy Hall is in Mesa and does fills on Mexico banded patients. Her number is 928-536-5377 and she is located at 1919 East McKellips. The cost for a fill is $100 without fluoro. I also have names and numbers for three others - in Scottsdale, Tucson and Lakeside, but figured since you're from Mesa, that name would work best for you. Let me know if you want the others. daniela.gula@pfizer.com Daniela (Dani)
