    memory foam mattress

I have a memory foam mattress & yes had some difficulty shifting. My biggest problem was I couldn't sleep on my side so I did sleep on a chair with foot stool the first week.
  2. I can understand the struggle especially 33 days post op. I am 8 months post op & have a very different view now. However, The first 3 to 4 months were rough for me. Eventually the hunger pains did go away but you will feel some hunger still. I did feel sad I couldn't have the food everyone around me could eat especially because my surgery was during the holidays. Honestly, we were all food addicts before surgery so being forced to not have what soothed us before is shocking. When people say surgery is the "easy" way it really isn't. You are forced to have to deal with life without your comfort and that is hard. You will start to eat larger portions as you progress. You will tolerate more and more food each month. In fact, I can pretty much tolerate anything which can stall weight loss ( when eating the wrong foods). Try to find something in your diet that you enjoy. In these early months I would try different crystal lite or fruit. I would even heat up my applesauce to make it more of a dessert. Nothing is going to completely make you happy but in time it will get easier. Also, the more weight you lose the better you will feel.

    New and Struggling

I had my sleeve Nov. 10. The first two weeks I had water nausea. I drank G2 & lite cranberry as my fluids. Water was too dense. I also can really only tolerate Unjury protein shakes. As a teacher, it is hard to get fluids in but being on your feet all day your body needs it. Now, I drink propel & water all day. I try to drink 10oz before school (as soon as I wake up) then another 20 to 30 at school. At home, I try to drink 30 more ounces. I am constantly pushing/sipping fluids all day. It definitely is another job rt now getting the fluids in...push through & persevere. Some days I am on target & some not so much. It's a daily process that I know will get better!

    Packing

I agree slippers and also a robe to wear over gown. I was able to pull clothes over my head so went home in a dress. Probably too cold for that now. I would wear something with a loose waist band.
  5. My surgeron told me a little over an hour but when we got to the hospital they told my family three hours with recovery time included. That ended up being about right. I believe my actual time in surgery was 90 minutes. Good luck on your surgery next week!
  6. I love cooking now too! Funny thing is I didn't really enjoy it too much before. I am also watching way more food shows now. I feel like I am becoming a "feeder". I can't have it but want everyone else to enjoy it.

When can I suck it in again?

My surgery was 11/10 & going back to work 12/1. I plan to wear spanx. They are light underneath my clothes & give just enough support for me. No jeans just yet. My larger incision is still too sensitive.
