  1. I gave it to myself in the meatiest part of my upper outer arm. You could probably go into a walk in clinic and get them to show you like at Walgreens, CVS or something. Maybe even a fire station.

what type of scale do you use?

Digital from walmart, bought it years ago. I don't move it around the house it pretty much stays in the same spot and its pretty accurate. will be nice to not stress test it by hopefully 2016.

    Day 4

I think that is what is going to motivate me and also eliminate my fear that I did something I may regret in 5 years. I have steadily gained in the past 10 years to get me to over 100lbs over my norm. I want to move and feel human again. SJD2015 YOU are on your way~
  4. I think both were right Jerr_Bear & BLERDgirl. I would mix it up and still put in the call to the nutritionist:D

  6. my thoughts are with you and I haven't been cleared yet for surgery but I think from what I have read here that what you are feeling is pretty normal. You are not alone.

    Stress test :(

I did a stress too and I realized how bad I felt just trying to walk fast. I did find out that the heart valve issue I was told I had years ago (1988) doesn't exist. Don't freak out just yet. I think our surgeons know that some of those issues you felt are directly related to the excess weight. Are you on BP medicine? Did you go totally caffeine free atleast 12 hours prior to testing?

    The Nerves are kicking in!

I am in the same boat except I don't have a date yet - I started my journey on Nov 4th...
  9. sounds like SUCCESS all around! Hope I am as lucky
  10. Wow what a list that Miss Mac posted.....I knew about half....that is crazy. Hurry up BCBS fed emp approval. I have hypertension, headed towards diabetes, migraines and anemic. I probably have sleep apnea but I have never been diagnosed. Urinary stress incontinence and arthritis are coming, too.

To tell or not to tell

my immediate family knows and a couple of co-workers. I am just not quite ready to announce my plans until I am in the post op stage and feeling ok.
  12. please update as soon as possible because I am also waiting for a response back from BCBS fed emp and I was told that as of 2015 a lot of the requirements had changed since I originally started this journey in Nov of last year. I feel frustrated for you.

let me know how you did that because I am waiting for BCBS fed emp too....
  14. I didn't know that - never had any surgery like this (wisdom teeth only) so thanks for sharing!

    Try this again...

I am kinda going thru the same thing. Waiting on a modular home and living in a 25' RV with my 23 y/o son and husband. Just happened Sunday night and I cant imagine being post-op and doing it in the 200 sq ft area we are in right now. I have completed all of my testing and my paperwork has been submitted to BCBS and I was told it will take about 4 to 6 weeks. Hopefully by then we will be in the new house. I started in Nov 2014 and backed out in Dec because I felt uncomfortable with the nutritionist, psychiatrist & office manager QUESTIONING my choice to go lap-band. I was riding the fence making a decision and went that way to avoid the time-off from work. I have since decided to stick to my original decision of the sleeve but it caused me to move my possible surgery to unfortunately coincide with "camping" while waiting for my modular home to be built.
  16. I am just hair or so taller and weigh about 20 lbs more - I hear ya. I am miserable and I am starting to really dread the humid Florida summer and I normally love the heat. I just cant get myself to buy any new clothes until after I have had surgery (hopefully in May) and have at least lost about 20lbs. I have clothes in my closet from size 13 to 22...and I have been wearing these pretty steadily since hitting the 260s.
  17. hey fellow sleevers, I need some idea where to find this brand of shakes in NE Florida. I am pre-surgery (month or so out hopefully) and I am trying to get an idea what I do, and don't like. On a different note is anyone here willing to discuss the medical staff at St Vincents Riverside? I am going to be there and I have never spent a night in the hospital except when I had my kids years ago.

    FAILED GASTRIC SLEEVE SURGERY

I agree with everyone else about the mild narrowing. I think the doctor didn't completely sleeve you. The follow-up doctor will be able to tell you more. Why did you not have a follow-up appointment?

    June Sleever Here!

I don't know my date yet either but May is a good guess. I am waiting for approval from BCBS federal in Florida. I keep thinking that I wont be able to drink while I eat and that bothers me more.

    BCBS Federal timing question

Scoutmom - I just gave them the doctors name and permission to get a copy of my records. I have been seeing an endocrinologist to help with the weight, skin, nails, tiredness & etc. He is wonderful but I was given Wellbutrin and Qsymia to help with weight loss and energy. Made me feel funny. I am not good with taking pills so I have been working on that the past year or two since I was put on BP meds.

congrats! I am waiting on approval.

    BCBS Federal timing question

I started the "journey" and then stopped back in December. I am a spouse of a BCBS FED employee and just completed my last mandatory class. I was called earlier today and told the paperwork was going to be submitted for approval and that BCBS just changed out their process and its taking at least 4 weeks for approval. I did my chest xray & EKG on Nov 11. I am pushing for the first of May timeframe for surgery. I am also in the middle of moving. My house is scheduled for completion late April and we hope to move in by May 1. I would prefer to be recovering in my new house instead of the camper I am going to be living in starting next Tuesday. We sound like we may be "losers" together - early May.
  24. I am not there yet, waiting on BCBS now to give to go ahead, but hang tough! journey is just beginning ;D
