  1. are you able to drink yet? I wasn't until I did the leak test. You may be thirsty
  2. leaded coffee - not decaf, I don't need the sugar and creamers but occasionally I will add a little creamer. I like Coffemates Peppermint Mocha - haven't tried it since surgery.
  3. same here but instead of children I am wanting to see my grandchildren grow up and be able to play with them!
  4. @@jm726 I agree with BLERDgirl

    Surgery at 56?

@ - you have fought this battle for so long like the rest of us. I am 52, wished I had done this a few years back, wasted a lot of time and some of the medical issues I wouldn't have now. I am hoping to lose the BP meds and fend off diabetes!
  7. It will be here before you know it and you will be on the loser side! WELCOME!

    BCBS Federal timing question

@@JustBeth13 - I am doing really well. I cannot complain. I have had no real issues (nausea, heartburn, etc). I hated waiting for the leak test - I was sooooo thirsty. Today is my first day back to work and I was so ready. I haven't been tired yet (I start my day at about 3:30 am) so I am very happy. How are you doing?

    Vacation = Snacking

I totally get this. I just got out of a 25ft RV that hubby and adult son have been living in while our modular home was being completed. I recuperated from surgery on the 6th of May in there and because I wasn't working it was hard to just SIT. I couldn't pick up anything to heavy or physically start moving stuff into the house - so glad we decided to start "squatting" in OUR house last Friday. Back at work today and it has been nice - no food commercials and walking around, moving around....love it! NO REGRETS!!!

    1 month post op

I am just starting soft foods, 12 days out. Hubby went to KFC last night and I had him bring me a grilled dinner. I threw biscuit in the trash (didn't even look appealing - shock!) I tore the skin off and placed half in a container for lunch tomorrow. I ate a couple of bites of the mashed potatoes (throat is still sore) and a couple of bites of the baked beans (chew, chew, chew). I am gently trying soft foods and protein drinks or greek yogurt. I am trying to get back to drinking a lot of water. today is my first day back at work

    Need help

Some doctors won't continue thru surgery, if the liver is too fatty, which is one of the main reasons for the pre-surgical diet. Please remember why you are doing this surgery ~ the smoking, eating wrong food, etc is not going to help you with this "tool". Stay focused on the clear liquid diet and try to stay smoke-free. I have faith that you will be able to do it, stay on plan and drink plenty of Water.

    Lying to feel better?!?

@@Mary Jane T - sometimes we type and we probably should've taken a BIG breath before we hit the POST. I am guilty as well. Understand we all have our own opinions and don't always agree, but we are "family" and we move on.

    Lying to feel better?!?

@LipstickLady - you never let me down I love your responses! I concur 150%!
  15. I was JUST sleeve 12 days ago and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I haven't lost a lot but I like eating the foods I use to eat years ago. My family isn't big about veggies and I changed my diet for simplicity to match theirs and therefore gained weight fast. I can't blame them for the chips and popcorn though ;D Read, read and read some more. Educate yourself and make the decision for you~ keep us posted:D
  16. ditto what @@YourFriendJess posted.
  17. @@kmagno I was sleeved on the 6th. I have been VERY blessed with no real issues so far~ This is a forever change in my mind. I have fought my weight most of my life. I am not looking to get to a size "0" or even a "6". I am looking forward to maybe a size10? What are your goals as far as weight loss? I do have some concerns and I have already heard the "that was stupid why not have your mouth wired shut" response. It was MY call. I was never TOLD by any medical professional I needed to consider this for help. I looked around and thought to myself "do I want to be rolling around in a motorized cart, or having my husband having to take care of me (he is eight years older) in a few years because I can't?" Then there is my two grandsons, I want to be able to play and enjoy them for a long time.
  18. @@lexiemia I am near Jacksonville - good luck with the revision. I just had surgery 12 days ago to a sleeve. I contemplated the band for a bit but decided to go with my "gut" - which was the sleeve. No regrets. @@Typhanee wish you the best of luck and hope this time you find your greenspot!

    Time Off of Work

I didn't want to broadcast my surgery. I had it on Wednesday the 6th and I am returning to work on Monday the 18th. kind of a desk job, but a lot of walking and steps, which should get easier to climb!
