  1. NSV are everywhere here - those are THE best. Like getting on a rollercoaster and not being squeezed in, getting up off the floor (without help) & clipping your own toenails! I just moved (somewhat) and I am throwing away my clothes that are starting to look a little big
  2. I had surgery 15 days ago and got a follow-up call from NUT office. I mentioned coming back to work on Monday (18th) and how tired I have felt. The verdict was I was not getting enough water (fluids) and that could be the culprit. Has anyone else heard that?
  3. @@smf8396 that's good stats - 10lbs a month!
  4. @@Giggles34 I don't have a "regular" system either and I was told I could add the sugar-free non flavored benefiber to my Protein shakes. started that today because I was starting to feel a little uncomfortable
  5. I am 52 and re-tummyed on 5/6! I am only on BP meds but I was worried about diabetes and getting bigger because every year for about the last 7 or 8 I gained about ten pounds. I could lose about 15 or 20 and then my weight would bounce right back and then some -

Post op day 3 and struggling

@A little less 4 now on - I am only a few days ahead of you and once you can eat something besides liquid you will feel a bit more "normal". your old normal is gone and now you have to adjust to your new tummy. Hang in there little brother @@Dreamer33 - I think a lot of us have doubt but I think it isn't really doubting why we did the surgery but why we couldn't do lose weight on our own (minus bariatric surgery). I know I couldn't - tired of feeling like I was going to get BIGGER and I thought I was a stronger person than that somehow, some way I could beat the weight issue. Nope. Kind of like accepting defeat :/ So I decided to get professional help, Dr. Miro Uchal

    Goal Weight Question

that's really a trick question. My goal is listed at 160. That is ten lbs less than what I would consider my bottom line number (170) and ten lbs more than the "dream" goal (150). I am 5'7" and some change. I am also older, 52, with a lot of hopefully soon to be excess skin. If I were in your age range (guessing by your picture) and height I would leave your goal at around 120 and make your own personal "dream" goal. That's 103 lbs!!!! which is awesome to achieve but remember this is a tool, not a sure thing.

    3 weeks 2 days postop!

bout the same, down 21 lbs from pre-surgical weight. I weighed about 8 more pounds before I started "tracking". my problem is sipping the Water at work. I am only taking Vitamins & BP meds and its only a few more vitamins than what I was taking before surgery.
  9. @@Giggles34 - I don't want to hospitalized. I don't see my doctor until the 2nd (he is out of town next week) and I am hoping to be closer to -30lbs. what day was your surgery? here in Florida the humidity can wipe you out if you don't drink enough. I am getting better at sipping more often.
  10. @@ShellMilliner I am doing a sublingual everyday. I am trying to take a second one later around 2 or so. I get up and take meds at 4am and I wait to take the iron and B12 around 9 or so.
  11. @@BigViffer - I didn't think about that! I may check it over the weekend and see how I feel and maybe just take half of it since I am breaking it in half. That is my only prescribed med, and I am hoping to kiss that goodbye soon.
  12. I haven't been nauseous yet but I also eat a piece of stick cheese, spoonful of applesauce or drink my Protein shake with the Vitamins. They have always made me sick on an empty stomach.

    Hello Everyone

I am a novice at this but I am doing ok. How are things going with you?
  14. @@smf8396 thanks for responding. I am just soooo tired. I get up early (3:30 am) and by lunchtime, 11am, I am ready for a powernap when was your surgery? we are close it starting stats. I lost some weight before I started my journey and I didn't list that weight.
  15. @@Kristy Haugen Oliver you are doing fiber? I would think that would add to the bathroom problem.....

    Cooking

Walmart sells smaller frying pans (like for one egg) and I have a small saucepan I use for my veggies. If budgeting is the issue try yard sales and even places like goodwill stores and salvation army. years ago when I had 5 kids at home those pans never saw the outside of the cabinet! now those are mine!!!!
  18. I didn't lose a lot (8 lbs) but I was a bit worried that if I lost too much someone would say STOP and I wouldn't have the surgery. Stupid, I know. I even asked about it but I just has my mind set on doing the surgery and I didn't want anything to cause it to be called off.

    Traveling with the Sleeve

I scoped out on-line, more info about the room (refrigerator) and what was open 24 hours in the area (Wal-Mart, CVS, Walgreens, etc).

    EGD done today

sounds like you have it under control and are on the way. do you know when you may have surgery?
  21. jane13

    Just a little nervous!

I cant answer that but your doctors office could. You don't have to state that you frequently smoke. You or your insurance is paying for it so you have a right to know. Ask.

    I did it!

Congrats - it won't be long now!
  23. Hi. I am 5 days ahead of you and I have been on soft food for a couple of days. I try to stay under a half a cup when I eat. I actually "sense" I am full and stop, no issues yet and not really hungry. I have been blessed so far.....

Glad to hear you are doing better and hopefully the PCOS will be a thing of the past for you as well. Good luck and welcome!
