Co-Workers and Their Lack of Work Ethic

@@Rena's got this you definitely took matters into your own hands and got out of the rat race! I wish I could. I like my job but I know theres no future beyond the next contract.

  6. Congrats! I am also BCBS fed employee (spouse). I could've gone back to work on Monday following my surgery on Wednesday. But I had made arrangements just in case I DIDNT feel ok to take off the following week. I WAS BORED TO DEATH. I really had no issues. My job is physical but my co-worker (young man about 27) said "no worries, I got it". So he did a lot of the lifting that I would've done and the other guys helped (that knew about WLS). If your job isn't too physical (desk job) you could probably wing it. I have read about nausea, running to the bathroom, chest pains, gas...I had none. I don't know if I would completely rule out the extra time.

    Pregnant

this is a difficult situation all around. we, her bariatric family, need to remember she needs to talk (post). she has spoke to her OB/Gyn and has to make the decision based on HER beliefs/needs. she posted here because the pregnancy went undetected pre-op. she also has to consider the 1 y/o that needs their mommy and we don't know her entire situation regarding her personal life. we need to make sure she is seeking professional help/guidance and not making ANY decision too quickly without considering her options. just saying~
  8. @@Tanika81 you have some great ideas for pureed foods - I just cant get eat egg whites. I would rather NOT eat an egg if I have to eat just the whites. I would scrambled one and add FF cheese and then some salt free seasonings:D A couple of other options are SF Jello and even strained FF Soups. I liked the broccoli cheddar. I didn't care too much for the broths or bouillon cubes. The rice and noodles are the problem because of the carbs.
  9. I was told diet was to shrink liver for surgery. get back on track and stay on so your surgery will be safe.

    A little TMI

are you allowed veggies yet. not everyone has same diet requirements. I was told to quit taking the iron and add miralax to my drinks, yogurt, etc. you can also add fiber using the powdered non flavored stuff. unfortunately sometimes, like beans, you just get cramps and gas! make sure you are getting plenty of water. I had issues with iron with pre-natal vitamins, nurse said my multivitamin should provide enough and when they check my levels in sept if needed we will try to add iron back in.
  13. no stitches - SUPER GLUE! it was weird because I didn't realize until a day or so later that he had removed my stomach through my bellybutton. I figured it out on my own and clarified with him at first f/u appt. I had three tiny little holes glued shut and a bandage. the belly button started itching and then I realized why - glue. Thought I had sleep walked into the kitchen of the RV we were living in at the time and ate something I shouldn't have! glazed doughnut? icing off something...Pillsbury cinnabon rolls!!!!!!

    Consipation

Iron supplements made mine worse. I am not taking anything extra for iron other than what is in my chewable kids vitamins. I had issues with the prenatal vitamins too. water, miralax & dropping the iron supplements helped me.

Ok. WTF am I doing wrong?

@@thecakewasalie What a A-hole for a doctor. I was thinking Water weight especially if you are eating pretzels as a snack. Dr told me to try to eat only two meals (Protein first, then veggies). If I was HUNGRY (either head hunger or true hunger) drink water first and wait about 20 minutes an if I was still hungry to eat a piece of fruit. I was also told no matter how much I chewed my food (fast or slow) that I should be done with my meal in about 20 minutes. I put my fork down while I chew to stop mindlessly shoveling

    Lose skin

I think age plays a big role in this along with how long you have been at that weight. I was 240 when I had my daughter in 1986 and in 1990 my stomach was still pretty tight no lose skin, I was 27. I weighed around 200 with son in 1991 and tummy returned to normal. I have gained over that 240 mark and held it for the last 5 or so years and I don't see a chance of getting close to not having it sag : (
  20. I see and endocrinologist and if it wasn't for the fact that I like him, I would never go back. The staffing at the front desk is incompetent and I get irritated every time I go. I have BCBS and I pay more for each visit (30) than my hubby does (25). I have asked about why I get charged an extra 5 and got some BS story. Then hubby got charged 30, once, and he asked why now he understands why I complain about them. hubby says its because the girls like him better I have seen the doctor for about 3 years and cant get them to correct my home phone number. I gave up after the 3rd time.
  21. I am currently on a "no scale" status since it is now a bad (time of the month) to even enter the room where it sits. Kind of like the chair that slides across the room in Poltergeist! I can feel the water weight (ugh). I am starting to skip them <finally> so when it happens - it is full blown - to the max, bloated, headaches, cramps....
