  1. I personally wouldn't. To me the Protein is too low, carbs & sugar are too high. I was told aim for 2 digit or higher protein while making sure that the sugar is under 15 and carb single digit. I like the walmart greek myself that has about 12g of protein and 80 -90 calories.

    Decided to stop weighing!

I am a scale junkie and its like crack to me...right now I am in a two week stall and I am really pissed at my scale. I may sit it outside in the Florida heat when I get home and let it sweat!

I just had to take a peek

I did that with hubby about 2weeks ago. I finally weigh less than him
  4. Re-check your height (an inch can put you in a higher BMI) and have you got documented efforts at weight loss attempts? I had been seeing a endocrinologist, did WW, saw a crackpot doctor and attempted nutri-system over the last 8 years. My nut said I was now just under 5'8" and therefore my BMI was a little higher. My BP and possible pre-diabetic state put me in the "good to go category".
  5. @@xxjosettexx - Bufflehead is dead on with her statement. some will lose real fast and have the same surgery date, start weight, gender, height, etc as you - you will get FRUSTRATED. @@Bufflehead - as usual - like @@Babbs &@@LipstickLady you are 100% telling her the truth!
  6. I pretty much ONLY burp when I am eating and full.

    Finally Normal BMI

@@sa1976 - that is so cool, I would call that a NSV! I hope to be there one day soon
  8. @@JohnT and @@Nyelaah what you both are feeling I think happens to a lot of us. I had a couple of bites of Mexican food last night. I have skinless wings about 1-2x a month I can only eat 2 or 3 but I do eat them. I had a bite off my sons ice dream sandwich about 2 weeks ago (it was o.k. but I really didn't anymore). Point is I am still eating (tasting) some things that a lot of people say you will never have again. I just don't eat them in the qty or amount that I did pre-surgery. I have had a couple of sips of wine. I haven't had some things (carbonated drinks, beer, Fireball whiskey, Tequila etc). I also haven't missed them. I did get a couple of bites of pizza about 3 weeks out and thought to myself, "I really don't want it". No regrets, I am slowly (in my 3rd stall) losing the weight. I am trying to get more Water in daily and I feel so much better.

  11. We are all struggling, some more than others - if you wanted to vent, we heard you. Its a tool (WLS), work it (like Lipstick Lady , Babbs & others suggested) or continue on as you have and accept whatever you weigh now (and then). You have to be truly honest about what YOU are doing to work towards your goal. Maybe you should do smaller goals and not look at BIG numbers. just saying.
  12. @ - I loved your reply I have heard I am sorry we don't carry that in "YOUR" size. You will have to go on-line and see if that size is available. @@The Candidate - you must know my aunt! she bought me this pajama "outfit" to wear to the hospital for WLS that had zigzag capri pants in hot pink and turquoise and a pale pink top with a damn kitten wearing a knitted cap (with the ear muffs and strings that hang down)! Granted she meant well and knows I love cats (haven't had one in years). It was marked down at Kohls (I am guessing from Christmas??? I live in Florida) and she wanted me to have something to wear at the hospital. I didn't take it. I started to just because I figured I would never see anyone from there ever again. I only wore the provided gown with my undergarments and a robe (that she also bought).
  13. I add unflavored fiber to my smoothie in the morning or my coffee and I have started adding miralax to a drink at night. The iron supplements caused "pineapple" problems }
  14. depends on insurance I think. I finished my last class and had to see surgeon for surgery date. I finished class about 3rd week in March, once insurance approved me (rec latter April 3rd) I saw surgeon (April 21st) and could've had surgery on the 29th. I was already on my own doing the pre-surgical diet by the 21st. I scheduled the 6th of May because I wanted to be first in that day - hoping to be able to leave early the next day (NOT). The leak test didn't happen until lunch time the day after surgery (longest, driest 30 hours of my life). I hated that - wished now I had waited to be last in for surgery :/

    Why am I getting Sleeved?

I get asked if the doctors TOLD me to do WLS. No I KNEW I needed help. I have yo-yo dieted for 35 plus years and I hit my highest weight and thought OMG I am going to hit 300 if I don't stop the insanity NOW. DO - IT - FOR - YOU! and ONLY YOU! jane

  19. hello back at you! welcome to the family!
  20. I was told to expect to be tired of I am doing the program right for about four to five months. I don't have a lot of energy for long periods of time but since I cut my BP meds back I don't feel as tired. hydration can cause tiredness too.

  24. welcome to the family! I was sleeved 5/6/15 and have no regrets Do which surgery is best for you. I almost did lap-band for my adult daughter and decided to go with mu original plan. I was approved for both and was undecided and chose the band for lack of "down time" and out patient surgery for BCBS.
  25. that is a lot in one day - whew! Let us know how things are going this weekend - congrats!
