    Eating to much

@@cole225 - I have done it twice and it was only one extra bite of food. It was uncomfortable in my throat. I sit my fork down and chew in between bites. I even think its one too many (I pit into a napkin).
  4. @@downsizingdebs - I have the same situation been full figured since I was in junior high - I started wearing a bra in 4th grade.
  5. @@Klohebaby - Welcome! Congrats on the 26 lbs!!!!! The Water issue is easy for some and not for others. I go no where without a bottle to sip.
  6. @ - have you had bloodwork done recently? may need to bump up vitamins, maybe even protein/calories a bit. Call your NUT.
  7. @@Catherine Davis - its is scary but sooooo worth it!!!! No regrets!
  8. @@The Candidate - good luck tomorrow - got your seat saved with a cushion!
  9. @@dhrguru - I have gotten the same comment a couple of times about eating "good". Some from people who know about the WLS and some from people who have no idea. I am not going to sit at home and avoid an event (birthday party, wedding, etc) just because I am eating "good" I will do just like you and pick the right food and ignore the idiot.
  10. @@Mas1172 - I burp like that if I am full, usually too full. Are you truly hungry when you eat or are you eating because you think its time to eat? Could you be thirsty instead? You might try smaller amounts and chew well and sit your fork down while you chew so you don't eat that 1 bite too many.

    Lessons Learned

@@The Candidate - AMEN to your statement of "...starting your life over again is still a viable option, if you're willing to work for it". I am 52 and I am post-op and I think I have really learned to LOOK at not only how much I am eating but what I am eating. Really reading the Protein, sugars, carbs, etc.
  12. @@leag78 - hang in there it will start happening more and more...its the sweetest NSV, next to probably the scale showing a loss!

    What Are Your Must-Have Foods?

peanut butter, jerky, tuna, protein bars, protein mix vanilla (mix with any frozen fruit), eggs, avocado & cheese (like @@LipstickLady GOOD cheese).
  14. I wanted a surgeon who had performed the surgery multiple times and who had the bed side manner of a human being not a robot. I also didn't want a surgeon who didn't sugarcoat what to expect (blunt) and what he expected of me. I got both. Dr. Miroslav Uchal at St. Vincents here in the Jacksonville area is my guy and I am fortunate to have him (and his team) with me on this journey!

    Aspartame

@@choosehope - I couldn't eat the SF popsicles or Jello, made me sick. I couldn't even swallow it too strong of a taste like @@dbfn had mentioned. I didn't know about the cinnamon so I may try that in the plain greek yogurt with a banana.

    What's for Breakfast?!

@@maggie409 - pretty much eat either 2 scrambled eggs with a slice of cheese melted in it on weekends. Hubby likes to eat out so I order eggs and sometimes I get half of a 4 inch smoked link too. That's if he orders it on his plate. During the week its a Protein shake (25 to 30 protein) or a cup of coffee and a pure Protein Bar (20 grams protein). I get up at 330am to go to work. I am not always hungry but I do try to either start with my Protein Drink or regular Water as soon as I get up. I am drinking about 100 oz a day.
  17. @@kxylxmxrie - RN told me to hydrate as much and as late as possible the night before to avoid that - I have the same problem. Luckily on my day it wasn't an issue. Got a spot right here for you <patting losers bench> Keep us posted! Happy Re-Birthday!!!!
  18. @@Jenyp8409 - I am almost 12 weeks post op and hubby like to eat out, ALOT. Saturday night we went to Red Lobster and I was sitting there not having anything to drink, nothing to eat (waiting on my meal)...while he was guzzling sweet tea, eating a salad and munching on those cheesy cheddar bay biscuits...I haven't had one since before WLS - I got one and starting eating it. He said "what are you doing?" I said "eating, I am hungry, I haven't ate since Breakfast (8:30ish) and I am trying to wait patiently on my food." I ate about half of a small one and felt SOOOOO GUILTY. I am ordering an appetizer from now on for dinner or I am going to tell waitress to bring atleast part of my food (broccoli) when he gets his salad. I usually order a salad but it defeats the "Protein first" rule so I have quit ordering salads & any kind of drink.

    Labor Day Challenge!

@@stephh - CW today is 220 - thanks again, this is awesome (the challenge) and brings out the "got to do it" in me. Appreciate your time for recording for us! Can we talk a Veterans Day Challenge (Nov 11, 2015) or a Pre-Turkey Day Challenge (Nov 25, 2015)? @vickylyn1973 - me too - - - - slow & steady :/ @@HiltonHead2010 - it is never too late!
  20. IMHO your goal is maintaining a healthy weight and maybe getting prepped to run the 10k next year

I have BCBS Fed employees and had no issues.
  22. @@KarenKaye - teamwork and love will win! You guys "got this" - what a great story to hear (sad, losing your sister) but still its nice to hear REAL life stories of people overcoming the odds. Congrats to all three of you!
