    Is spicy soup okay

I would eat a small amt to make sure you can handle it. I add chili powder to scrambled eggs to season. since I eat very little now in make sure it's tasty by adding spices.

    Protein shake

muscle milk is pretty good. kinda sweet. if you mix with milk it runs up the calories. I didn't like it in water. so I either used fat free milk or added water to thin out the milk.
  3. glad you decided not to delay too. do this for yourself
  4. IMHO, medication for appetite suppression just screws up the head even more. there are other flavors of protein and you could make your own, check into Unjury.
  5. pureed for me, three tiny holes and one in bellybutton to remove stomach, pureed: oatmeal, eggs, tuna/chicken salad, chicken,Turkey..... I think the key phrase is each practice is different.

    Worried about regrets

Amy, I agree with everyone's reply to your post and I wanted to add that you may also feel buyers remorse post-op. When the reality of what "tool" you choose sets in. I felt it two days post when I realized that 80% of my stomach was gone, never to be put back in, WTH? That remorse lasted less than a day - I was at home by myself and had time to dwell on what put me at needing WLS and why I chose that path. Buyers remorse went out the window and now, -70lbs, I only wish I had stayed the course and not backed out in December. I would probably be at goal by now ;D no regrets!
  10. BP meds is the only thing I was taking pre-op that I am still on. I am taking half a pill now and hope to be off them in the next month or so. I will see doctor for 2nd f/u visit on 9/8 and that is when I will here how my BW looks. I feel like I weigh ALOT less than I actually do - so if that accounts for anything for your research...

    Veteran Sleever having complications

@ - call your old surgeon and ask like someone else suggested about another doctor in the area or where to go. if you don't get an answer there I would go to the ER. You can get dehydrated and that would cause grave complications:( keep us posted.

@ - I was taking supplements but it was causing other problems. I am doing my first f/u post with bloodwork in about a month. If the iron is low we will adjust then.
  21. @@MIMISAN - what about cooking more on the weekends for dinners during the week? Salads are quick to eat and can be made a variety of ways. Some nights DH and I have cereal. Other nights we go out. I eat leftovers for lunch for days. There are smarter choices that can be made going thru a drive thru and a lot have been posted here.

    1st weigh in

@@sbg224 - I had a post-op about 4 weeks later. I felt like I hadn't lost enough weight for him. Dr told me to eat only two meals, no more, & Snacks could be veggies (smart choices of course) as much as I wanted. He reminded me to ONLY eat if hungry, not head hungry. I am hoping to be -35 when I see him on 9/8 (6 more lbs) that would be an avg of about 11lbs a month. I am okay with that amount of loss per month. that would put me near the top of my "normal" weight range (163) by New Years! He didn't scold me but I felt like he wasn't happy that my weight loss. I was down -15 from pre-op the morning of surgery. I got my acceptance letter the first weekend in April and began a somewhat modified pre-op diet prior to my surgical appointment. From the surgical appointment to day of surgery (-10). Pre-op diet (another -5). I was REALLY hoping to be 199, but I don't know if I can lose 13lbs in 27days.
