    Hair Loss

Mine has recently started coming out pretty heavily too. I am almost 4 months out. I have been taking Biotin and I was told it helps with regrowth. I had two question pre-surgery: hair loss & energy level (being tired). Surgeon said if I WASN'T tired for the first few months then I wasn't probably working my plan. The hair loss is generally a combination of both the shock of your new diet (weight loss) and surgery. I have cut my hair to my shoulders about 2 weeks ago and pray some hair stays put...

    What a terrible food day!

@@mtraverse - at 52 I still have those days too. Get outside, walk the dog, play with the kids - get AWAY from the food. Drink Water....
  6. @@maggie409 -My surgeon told me at my first follow-up on June 3rd to eat only two meals and if I got hungry (after I determined it wasn't thirst) to eat fruit. He said I could have all the fruit I wanted... I thought to myself, huh? I quickly asked can I have veggies instead of fruit. as much as I want? His reply was - yes! I love fruit but I already new about the high sugar value.

@@CanyonBaby - you and your hubby definitely are in my prayers - put your faith in God.
  8. @@tssiemer - you can prove your weight loss efforts because WW has attendance records and if you have a gym membership and can prove you took either some classes (spinning, zumba, water aerobics) you can probably use that as well, I did something very similar.

1 Week After - Back to Work!

@@hopefullythininme - I work with about 2500 co-workers and of the couple of hundred or so that see me daily started stopping and asking if I am okay. I gave in about a month ago and share my WLS story. Most were concerned that I was sick. Its nice to be complimented I have told everyone that I will NOT share the current weight though (a girl has to have some privacy). Most of the co-workers are guys and I don't get asked for numbers, thank goodness. The girls wants numbers....I don't share. I am evil ;D

    Egg drop soup

@@Gaelsmom - IMO soup is a "slider" and you can probably "drink" two cups of Water as well as eat two cups of soup. Watch the calories, carbs and sodium. I would say the swelling ankles are due to the salt. Water, water, water, walk, walk, walk......

1 Week After - Back to Work!

@@ITGeekGirl - I work a pretty physical job and its about 50/50 between that and computer time. I went back to work 12 days after being sleeved. I couldve gone back the Monday after (it was a Wednesday for surgery). I just had to be careful about NOT picking up the really heavy stuff post because I am required to list 40lbs unassisted. I felt great and really feel better now
  14. @@atcant - I totally agree with your post. I am not a nurse but I do think it is pretty obvious HERE who has had thorough prep for this life changing procedure. I see posts asking so questions that I thought was pretty darn obvious and I answer sometimes and the whole time I am thinking (REALLY????) BARIATRIC NURSES ROCK! "Oh I've only lost..."

I reached the lost 58/ 58 more to go stage a couple of days ago and even though I get stopped multiple times at work about my weight I still find it hard to not say I have ONLY lost 58. Its actually 74 from my highest but it is hard to not feel like it should be gone in a *snap*, even though I know like @@MrsKarenC2008 said the weight gain didn't happen in a *snap*. that's why I really appreciate my NSVs - those make it REAL!

    Surgery tomorrow!

@@portuguesegal10 - that is pretty typical you have buyers remorse - it will get better and your new life will seem soooo normal after a couple of weeks. Oh, and the scale starts moving in the right direction too, will definitely make you feel much better. hang in there kiddo!!!
  18. I was an occasional caffeine free diet coke girl. it tasted different than regular diet coke. I haven't had a carbonated drink since March - life marched on. I was told I am allowed coffee. I cannot give it up. I tried the de-caffeinated but I have gone back to reg coffee. I feel like if THAT ifs my ONLY downfall, I am not doing too bad. I have had an occasional tiny glass of wine recently. I won't drink more than a couple of sips, but it was nice to have a small glass I GAVE UP POPCORN so FAR so.......and that's my KRYPTONITE! I am having a better day today....

great suggestions. I have one to add....chew your food thoroughly.
  21. not a bad idea to measure it out. you don't want to over eat! I have taken one too many bites and felt uncomfortable. I have never thrown up but it sure was uncomfortable. better a lol less than one too many!

    Weighing

I would try to not eat or drink too much and weigh in the same clothes when you get home to see the difference. that way you will have a idea where you are for the next appt. I weigh daily, first thing in the morning.
