Almost there.. Insurance/Recovery question?
jane13 replied to sleevedtbd's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@sleevedtbd - do you have regular yearly gynecologists appts? They should have documented your weight. If you are on BC it use to be brought up (weight) years ago when I was going. At the time I was not overweight but my GF was and she was seeing the same doctor. You didn't show your height but if your BMI is under 40 you may want to also see if you may have comorbidities like if your BP was a little higher...are you pre-diabetic...do you have sleep apnea? That was a concern for me as my BMI was just over the minimum. I am a lot older but they also said my HBP and pre-diabetic state would override the BMI. I also thought I was 5'8" and some change...turns out I am now just UNDER 5'8" so if they listed me as 5'7" my BMI was actually higher... -
@@losinglily - you will probably have to meet some requirements. I have BCBS Fed employee and 3 required classes, meeting with NUT and head doctor. It was after all of that was completed before the paperwork was submitted for approval to BCBS. That took about 10 days for the results to be back to me.

@@WonderWoman321 - you may want to add this under the forum for hospitals and surgeons. I had my surgery at St. Vincents Southside. Good Luck Neighbor!

What is your "scale" strategy?
jane13 replied to LessOfMe0503's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
First thing in the morning after trip to bathroom. I wait about twenty minutes and step back on. That's my weight for the day. I mentally track what I see twice, so if it's 206 on the first weigh in and 205.5 on the second I consider 206 the weight for the day. I am doing the Labor Day Challenge and I am going to maintain the Monday weigh-ins as my weight if asked. -
wow. I hate typos too. I also have a kindle that I use to access BP. It is smarter than I am and if I do not pay attention it will insert a word that has no meaning or is incorrect for that context. I hate CAPS for the entire post - I feel like I am being screamed at so I don't read them. I am also smart enough that if it's too hard to read (no breaks, just long sentences). I just don't read it. Hate to say it but after coming here about a year I am more intolerant of the folks who don't look in the forums for a thread similar to their question. "Can I eat pizza on day three post-op?" "I haven't had a BM in ten days, should I call the doctor?" "I didn't lose ten pounds this week, am I doing something wrong?" «««««duh»»»»»

jane13 replied to dragonfly78's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
@@dragonfly78 keep moving and hydrate. if you can do the days with OTC pain meds try to get off the others asap. use them for night time if you can. the more you move the better and try to not lie flat when you sleep. I had pureed at 3 days too. no problems here. I am north of you....near jacksonville....good luck and welcome! -

1 week to lose half of a pound suggestions?
jane13 replied to newmebithebypass's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@ - you have to know NOW how important following your NUT is - especially pre-op and for the rest of your life and especially after surgery. There is a reason for the "diet" and please understand now that WLS is only a tool and your eating habits will null and void everything the surgery was set up for... Did you get a food plan to follow from the NUT? Review it again and what @@Bufflehead and @@Inner Surfer Girl said was great advice. I totally agree and measure everything out - I don't know if you were required to lose a certain amount of weight pre-surgery for approval. You said a minimum of a half a pound, but you didn't clarify if that was per day, week, etc. you got this -
@@stephh - thanks again for setting this up - it makes me more accountable
-
@@kaysunshine - I had "glue" and only had minimal bleeding in my navel ( stomach was pulled through my belly button) after I accidentally scratched it too hard.
-
@@gihan - congrats on getting the sleeve! My first question is did you see a NUT, pre-surgery? The diet pre-, post and for the few months should have been explained in detail. If they set a schedule out for you its what your truly need to follow. I am about 4 months out and I rarely eat bread (bite or two) and I didn't eat hard cheeses for about a month out. My first real food was scrambled egg with sharp cheddar cheese. I eat that about twice a week. I didn't have cramps post so I can only assume you are referring to bathroom trips. That was different for about a week. Once I was cleared for pureed foods and had them for a day or so the trips we a bit more normal. Pain meds will be a factor in BMs.

A year later and still having a hard time. Need your opinion
jane13 replied to sweetlia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@sweetlia - I think I would get a second opinion. that doesn't sound even normal, especially since you are on anti acids. It wouldn't hurt to get a second opinion and most importantly its a matter of health concerns. -
May Sleevers - We are 90 days out, lets catch up!
jane13 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My stats are up to date. I am having my second f/u visit next Tuesday and was hoping to be down to 199.9 but I don't think that will happen. I am walking at work on one of my breaks. My energy levels are up, the hair is on the floor (everywhere) and I feel like I weigh ALOT less than the scale reads Got family drama right now and trying to stay focused and come here on break and after work to check in~ -
