Update/stupid decisions/ what should I do?
jane13 replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@Elode you got this!!! You know cigs were bad mojo, the popsicles are being exchanged, Beans & cornbread (yummy) are on the stove....all is good. Now - surgery. Wiring your mouth shut??? Jeez, glad I just settled for a Lexus! That's EXTREME WLS!!!! haha I would have to get with my WLS and ask their take on what to do. You are pretty SKINNY now Lookout Wendys (frosty & hot FFs!) & DQ (butterfinger blizzards)! -
@@@lici@ my stomach still makes noises! I am almost 7 months post. I use Miralax with my doctors permission. ask your doctor what they recommend. the funny feeling maybe reflux? I didn't have problems with that, others have.

@@M&S yes. very common (stalls) and like said here.....like lovers they will come and go and there's probably another (stall) in your future

@@adcovington87 you have to follow your doctors plan. hiccups for me mean that I am full, especially the first two to three months post. it will get better. -
Have You Convinced Anyone Else To Have The Surgery?
jane13 replied to Proud2BMe's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have been asked about WLS and I share my story. I don't pursue anyone. I feel it's my experience they are ASKING me about. If they pursue me, to ASK about my WLS, and decide to not have surgery that's their business. Pre WLS I asked two people to share their experiences. One did, the other didn't. Didn't affect my decision. -
part of a very important process for a lifelong commitment. if you feel the process prepping is too much then you will be overwhelmed post op. just saying.

A little surprised to get my A1C levels back
jane13 replied to akreese02's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
A1C is, like stated, a 90 day "look" at your blood sugar levels. -
@@dlappjr all the time. I can wear shorts or jeans to work. I am looking for marked down shorts or capris now for "later".

Unjury, blech - I believed you guys!
jane13 replied to songsmith's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
@@songsmith - I haven't tried the flavored only the unflavored and I add it to foods (salsa, scrambled eggs, tuna, etc). I agree with the others it is subjective and CAN change so don't buy too many at one time, especially pre-op. good luck! -
FINALLY reached ONEderland =)

@@M&S - stalls happen without WLS. IMHO its just a fact that your body tends to level out and therefore you stall...

@@LoseItKacy - rock it girlfriend! I am 52 and NO, even on a hot day here in FL, I will not take a picture in a bikini I may wear one under a t-shirt this summer and hop in the pool - minus the t-shirt - but NO pics!

@@Angelsoul219 I think it's normal to be scared. I was. if you don't have faith in your medical team then use should be worried. I had faith in them and had no issues or regrets.

@@Dub - well said! I totally agree with eating post and especially about eating the right food to keep the scale moving. You will hit stalls. But you have to stay the course and maybe mix it up a bit then go right back to day 1. You are doing awesome Dub.

Ground Hog Day!!!! Hope you don't hear Sonny & Cher in the background singing "I got you babe"...before you go into surgery. It will be here before you know it> good luck

@@smcbee79 - once I "heard" I had tachycardia I then seem to FEEL it beating fast. I had no other symptoms. I don't know when mine actually started. It was sometime between the surgery at 7am on Wed until I saw it on my monitors about noon the next day. I was told until the anesthesia and meds used for the OR were out of my system it could be the culprit. By Saturday mine was back to 70-75 per minute.

@@smcbee79 - I had tachycardia (rapid heartbeat) post - op as well. I didn't even realize it when I was in the until the nurse mentioned it when I asked when was I going to be released (I had just done leak test). Surgeon ordered extra testing to rule out blood clots - xrays, cat scan, etc and then I was released later that Thursday evening (HR 115 +/-). I didn't feel funny. I just didn't like my heart racing. I didn't check my HR until Saturday morning and when I did, it was back to a normal rate. I was told that some people react that way to the anesthesia. BUT if you feel dizzy, light headed, SOB (short of breath) etc - get to ER!!!!

Surgery is tomorrow 11/19/15
jane13 replied to aleja908's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@ @@aleja908 - it depends on a few things. I was sleeved on 5/6/15 - first patient in OR that morning. I had an uneventful surgery and walked as much as impossible and as soon as possible. The hardest part for me was not being able to drink anything until the leak test. I thought I would be tested early the next day - nope ;( It was closer to noon and I was ready to drink anything. I was also a little uncomfortable with the catheter and was able to get it removed (because I was up and moving) and felt that I could "go" on my own. If you can drink until midnight, do it. The more hydrated the better for you and the OR team (finding veins, etc). good luck both of you and keep us posted!
