  1. any chance you on BP meds? I had lost enough weight at that time that my medication was too strong and my BP was running really low 60/100. make sure you are getting enough water because dehydration can make you tired too.

    Cereal

I add grapefruits to my Greek yogurt for crunch. I also eat shredded wheat dry. I snack on it occasionally (handful). wheat thins - that's a favorite and I stay away from them.

    Day 10. Big mistake.

    moobs! ROTFLMAO!!!!!
  4. @@Deb_o64 - I have been blessed with a very SUPPORTIVE husband and 24 y/o son at home. My 29 y/o daughter wasn't too happy about making a permanent change (she wanted me to do the lap-band). Once I began eating pre-op (early April) my hubby started losing weight too. In July he hopped on the scale and I saw he weighed 219, I weighed 221 I KNEW I was really close to finally weighing less than him in about 7 or 8 years...the next week I was 219 and he was too...he didn't understand why I was fist pumping until I confessed I am happily 32 pounds lighter and he is maintaining the 220 range at the moment. We eat healthier and we eat out a lot, still, but we share (or I get an appetizer).

    So..........6 month check up

@@grandmaofone - my doctor did about the same thing to me at my first follow-up. I had surgery on May 6, 2015. Follow-up was about a month later. I had lost 25lbs. He never really said anything bad but it was the tone and the message he implied to me was that it wasn't enough. I was pretty upset. I thought I was doing pretty damn good... Next appointment on Sept 8 I was down 63 and I was pumped up. When he came in and he was all excited I just has to ask him about our earlier visit. And I did. "Why, the attitude back in June?". He said some people can be "challenged" (for lack of a better word). I told him I was mad and he admitted he knew I was upset in June when I left. He said if I challenge some patients they will push to get as much out of those first few months. He admitted it doesn't work on everyone and other need a different approach to get them into gear. We know those honeymoon months are the days to really lose. I felt played. Funny thing is he was right. I was doing ok, but I did kick it up a notch. He NEVER did, or has, said a number specifically to get to as far as weight. He did tell me that even though I am fine with about another 20 pounds he wants me to push for about 30-35. I asked him why and he said because about a year out a lot seem to put on about 10%. I hope to be within 20 of that goal when I see him in a month (that's about 10 pounds). Just thought I would share~
  6. For me, it is strictly a scale thing - no movement (even pounds moving back and forth) for atleast 10 days or two weeks. I can fluctuate 2-3 pounds in a day or so...and also do that for a day or two. I think that caused by a multitude of thins such as eating too much salt, TOM and physical activity. That is also why I only focus on the weight in the morning and I don't hit the "panic" button until about day 4-5 if more than 3 or so pounds seem to be hanging on. I can generally tell why... I ate too many carbs, salt, sat on the couch all weekend. Once I hit the "panic" button I get back on the WLS program to the letter and generally I recover I am a scale junkie
  7. @@FocusOnMeNow - I knew about the calcium carbonate vs the calcium citrate. I know a lot of people don't realize the difference and opt for a chewable/cheaper one that may NOT be calcium citrate. Thanks for taking the time to post this - hopefully of them will read and understand the difference. I have a GF who is about 2 months post-op behind me and she opts for the chewable (non calcium citrate) and also the whey Protein (instead of whey isolate protein) and she is always bragging about how easy it is to find and how mush less expensive than what I pay...I quit trying to explain
  8. @@denisa - you don't have to tell them squat...esp if they are being a-holes. I didn't tell anyone but my young work mate and immediate boss. as the weight started coming off they started asking if I was "OK"...when I got to about 40-50lbs down it was a daily thing to be asked if I was "ok". I spilled...so much easier for me. Not everyone has the same feelings about it. your business - tell them ONLY what you want to share. Or don't.

Am I going to be starving?

I totally agree with @@VSGAnn2014 and @Babbs. You will feel some hunger but you will have to learn if you are TRULY hungry or just THINK (head) you are hungry. It is also easy to be like @@KarenLoh said - eating/crave for no reason - you have to be cognitive of those times and not eat. You are mentally prepping, and that means you are on the right track -

  17. @@jhbeck - I add unflavored to some foods that are lacking in Protein to get my daily amounts in on some days. The last couple of weeks I have added it to my salsa for my scrambled eggs. I haven't had a Protein Drink in about 2 weeks. I generally drink those on the way to work. I need to get back into that habit. I am eating a Protein Bar with black coffee and although the protein part is high so are the calories & carbs

    2 month stall?

@@Nikki Monroe - I think your body adjusts (stalls) when it is ready~ regardless of what week it is post-op. That's my opinion. I think as you lose weight your body has to adjust (stall/plateau/etc). Stay on track: Water, Protein, watch sugars/carbs/calories and keep moving. Stay off the scale for a few days. Measure yourself, try on old clothes, etc. Inches are just as fabulous to lose as pounds!!! Breathe - and embrace the stall~

@@jembell01 - focus on the pre-op diet. there is a couple of reasons this is required. throw out the leftovers or go walking and let someone else cleanup after dinner, you got this!
  23. @@Scottyd1264 - depends on what you are planning on doing. you appear to be starting a new job as well? Check with your doctor about physical limitations. Mine was restricted to not lifting a certain amount. I also couldn't drive while on pain meds. I didn't take them that long anyways. I had a very easy recovery and other than lifting I was allowed to do whatever I wanted. I could've gone back to work the following Monday. My surgery was on a Wednesday.
