Veterans ONLY please. One year + post op.
jane13 replied to LipstickLady's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I am almost 14 months post and I agree with VETS only forum being limited for who can post. I joined BP about 7 months before I had surgery and read a lot. I read now and *like* on the posts and respond sometimes. I try to answer the no reply threads and welcome the newbies but at times it gets 'dicey' to answer some of the posts because you get called a bully, or part of a clique, etc.....so I read and move on. I see people giving out post-op suggestions who haven't even had surgery. The OP have a large number of posts so if you just glance at that, you think they are post-op, and then you look at the surgery date and its still a few months away... -
Pre-op Diet - Week 2 Stall
jane13 replied to BigInBoston's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@BigInBoston - the amount you want to lose (30lbs) is based on your own personal goal I am guessing. My question was asking if the Doctors office or if Insurance was requiring a specific amount to be lost. Jane -
I'm wondering if my sleeve is small enough?

@@Km77942009 - I want you to keep posting and don't be afraid to ask crazy pizza questions Unfortunately some people don't like it when OP say _________ wasn't a good idea. Examples of "___________" straws smoking marijuana alcohol/beer popcorn carbonated drinks And some folks get their feelings hurt and say they are being attacked on the forum. In this case you never said that you were being attacked. You handled the responses and followed up on your doctor (CT scan). IMO that is what what you SHOULD do. I disagreed with the OP about the moderator posting concerns to Alex that we all could read. Bullies need to be addressed on the forum. -
I was channel surfing last night and caught the episode where she was taken to the ER. How much weight has she put on? Did she ever say how much? I haven't watched the show a lot but I sure don't remember her being as heavy the last time I saw an episode. This is like watching a train wreck. Both parents, SO and BF coddle her and she is out of control.

@@Stillmissing it sucks that we get scared hearing the "need to come back" message. I have been there and done that. I swear my left breast has been flattened as thin as a pizza crust. I love "the take a deep breath and don't move" (where am I going to go???) the radiologist tells you as you are on your tip toes, your 38g breast smashed and tears rolling down your eyes.

Pre-op Diet - Week 2 Stall
jane13 replied to BigInBoston's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@BigInBoston are you supposed to lose a certain amount to get approval for surgery (shrinking the liver)? I guess because I wasn't told a specific amount to lose I didn't have a "stall" on my pre-op :/ Talk to your doctors/NUT office for guidance if you are expected to lose a specific amount. -

jane13 replied to Km77942009's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@PayItForward - I disagree. I think we need to all read what she posted and Alex 's response, that way anyone can see that this is being addressed with Alex. @@LipstickLady is right. People are screaming attack when that is not the case, and its not always a "vet". And yes I am a vet. Just sayin' Jane -
like @@Kindle I shop the mark down racks at Wal-mart, Catos, Kohls, etc. for basics. I don't spend a lot (less than $5) and I bought out of season clothing last summer for this past winter and wore pretty much everything and did the same for my summer clothes I am wearing now. I am within about 20 lbs of my goal and the weight loss is at a stall right now so I ONLY buy something I really need. I wasn't too lucky finding shorts/capris to wear to work at Goodwill/Salvation army and even Wal-mart so I just bought inexpensive ones. The waist has a drawstring so they won't fall down if I get the rest of the weight off.

@@WitchySar - I agree about the shoe sizes. Anything over a 9.5 and it depends on how they fit because some shoes I easily wear a 9.5 with room to spare and others I get a 10.

@@Fettchick83 - you don't really want to find out just how much you CAN eat trust me :/ If you eat TOO much, you will feel it. That's why it is SO important to measure out your food. Before you eat something make sure you are truly hungry (head hunger is a beotch) - drink some Water of and on for about 20-30 minutes. Wait. See if you are hungry and not thirsty. good luck!

@@Alex Brecher @@LipstickLady - What determines vet's status? I had surgery May 2015, but I joined here in November 2014. How would that info be validated? Trolls could put anything... Did the ignore option get fixed? It made it very difficult if someone had a similar name. I just tried and it still doesn't work. Jane
